Buffington Family Medicine Review

Dr. Buffington is definitely nice and empathetic, but there is such an ongoing confusion there that I ended up arguing with the front dest every single month just for him to reniew my thyroid medication prescription. Every time when my dosage would need an update I would remind him and the front desk to make sure they send it right to the pharmacy. They never did it right. Every single month I had issues also because he does not reniew it for long enough time, and because of his slow response I sometimes had to go days off the medication. Front desk people are incredibly rude and lack any actual concern for patients nor willingness to help. One more issue; when doing blood work following a Dr. Appointment, once the results are in the doctor demands to see you again. Regardless of how little of a change there is. When I once refused to take off another day in a consecutive week, they just did not reniew my prescription, which was the same dosage as before it just needed renewal. All in all, I told them yesterday on the phone I will take my business elsewhere, after he reniewd my chronic thyroid medication for 14 days and that's after I have been in the clinic twice in less than a month. Prepare yourself to free your schedule and breath deep if you intend to go there.

The reason I came to Dr Buffington in the first place was bcause my previous doctor never saw me at my appointment time. In fact, he was the 2nd doctor I left because I was sick of waiting in the waiting room long past my appointment time (often more than 30 minutes). Six years later, Dr Buffington, and staff are still very good at honoring appointment times.

Dr. Buffington's knowledge of medicine is tremendous. He is the BEST in interpersonal relationships with his patiences, which is the skill that separates him from most Doctors. When you see and talk to him he gives you the confidence you are well taken care of! The Staff is the Greatest!

I have been going to Dr Buffington for 3 years for general medicine and allergy prevention--Every visit has been timely, thorough and professional. Both Dr Buffington and every nurse and office staff are very friendly while taking good care of me.

Been going there for a few years. Really like Dr. Buffington and nurses, but front office is so disorganized and uncaring that I have to find another practice. Told me I needed prescriptions but front office could never get them sent to CVS, or understand or seemingly care. Too bad!

Today was my first day at Buffington Family Medicine and the customer service was exceptional! The first person to greet me was Cindy and she was super lovely ! Dr. Buffington was so kind and empathetic. I forgot the name of the nurse, I belive it might have been Robin, she was very kind and sweet as well ! Even the lady who was taking note of what was said in the consultation was super sweet. I'm very happy with my choice !

I drive over an hour there and drive an hour back to see Dr B. I am 63 years old and I have never had a Dr that truly listens to me. He does not discount things that I say. He addresses all of my concerns. The staff is always helpful and cheerful as well. My husband was so impressed with Dr B. that he now sees him too. We have a very high level of trust in his care.

I didn't put 5 bc no one is perfect, but this is an excellent clinic.

Great customer service. There wasn't a crowded waiting room. So you felt comfortable waiting. Quickly seen by doctor. They don't overbook the patients so no long wait times. Doctor and staff are friendly and curtious, making you feel welcome and relaxed.

Patient exam rooms are spacious, nicely built with thick walls. So you don't hear another patients consultation through the walls. Love that feature.

Dr Buffington is an excellent doctor! I appreciate his care, kind manner, and thoughtful approach. The office staff is excellent as well. Highly recommended.

The office staff is excellent and checkin for my appointment was handled promptly. I was back at the exact time for my appointment and Dr. Buffington was in the room talking to me within minutes. He spent a good amount of time talking to me and understanding the reason for my visit and I felt like he genuinely cared about what I was saying. He then discussed options with me and allowed me to ask a multitude of questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Buffington and his staff to anyone.

Worst doctor, worst office. Don't waste your time or risk your health. He or his nurse never return calls. Did not even take my vitals just wants to order lab and sell me hormones.

I loved the relaxing environment of this office. From the moment I walked it, it was a very welcoming feel. The staff and nurses were incredibly kind and helpful and Dr. Buffington was compassionate and a good listener. I felt heard and seen and like what I had concerns about really mattered. This was the complete opposite of my experience with the other office and doctor that I was transferring from. If you are suffering from ADHD or other mental health issues, this is definitely a a great office and doctor to help on your way to well being.

I've been coming to Dr. Buffington for several years now. He was the first to identify my Crohn's Disease and took extra initiative (at closing time) to see me on super short notice when I had a dangerously high fever. His nurse called after hours to follow up with me and helped arrange all my follow ups. His new PA, is equally at attentive and caring. You can tell the practice employees people who truly care about their patients well being and want what is best for them. My husband sees Dr. Buffington as well, and just recently, our 5 year old. Great Practice! Highly recommend!

For over 10 years now, Dr. Ryan Buffington has been my primary care physician. He has treated me with professionalism, respect, and understanding throughout these years. He is an intelligent M.D., but just as important, he gets to know his patients by being attentive and interested in your well being. Even though you might be able to see that he s busy, you would never know when talking with him. Thank you, Dr. Buffington!

Best place for comprehensive primary care in the DFW are - hands down!

Pros:
- Deeply compassionate, understanding, and knowledgeable staff and primary physician.
- Gave excellent referrals to specialists and manages interactions with them.
- Able to manage appointments within a reasonable time (but don t expect next day).
- Works with you, doesn t talk down to you and force you into treatment you don t agree with nor want.
- Included a top-notch mental health expert (Tate) who is extremely compassionate and professional dealing with simple and complex mental disorders alike.

Cons:
- Often double-booked. While the staff spends adequate time, you should expect to show up early and leave late.
- Large staff, but still closes the office for 90 minutes each day (12:00-1:30) for lunch. With the number of health care professionals on site, it seems they could stay open and accommodate more appointments per day.

I was very pleased and beyond happy with the care and professional treatment I received from the receptionist at the front desk to the young lady who checked me out at the end, nothing but incredible attitudes from the staff, and again absolute professionalism with just the right amount of personal care combination, and Dr. Huffington was incredibly thorough and I never felt rushed or hurried, he has an excellent bedside manner, I have certainly found my new local doctor! The Doctors here are all nice, courteous, caring, and never make you feel rushed or unimportant or anything negative like I have had at other providers. Their offices are clean, inviting, and the staff, as well as the Doctors themselves, always make sure that you are taken care of in any way that they can.

Dr. Buffington is compassionate, competent, and through. He listens thoughtfully, and treats effectively. His staff is so friendly, and the wait time is minimal.

I have been going to Doctor Buffington for 6 years now. He is a wonderful doctor and every time I have ever had a diagnosis/regimen/prescription from him, he's been right on the money with it. He's very careful to listen to all of your symptoms and ask questions to make sure that he gets it right. He has a very caring, concerned personality. They've moved twice which does get a little confusing for me at times because I will forget and go to the wrong location. Sometimes it can be difficult to get an appointment with Dr Buffington because he is in such demand but his Nurse Practitioners are usually very good as well.

The staff was so kind and friendly. Dr. Buffington was understanding and patient. I felt he was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. Exactly what you're looking for in a medical doctor.

De Buffington was highly recommended and I m so glad I chose his practice. When I walked into the office the 2 ladies in the front welcomed me positive attitudes & seemed as if they actually cared about how I was doing. Dr Buffington is always professional, he truly listens to your concerns and if you have input into your care he takes that into consideration. He is empathetic as well as highly competent. We have had visits, where before confirming a treatment approach, he will say I want to do further research, and then we can decide what is best . I like that attitude!

My wife and I have recently switched our general doctor to Ryan's offices. We loved him from the first meeting. He's a down-to-earth guy that makes you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you walk into the office. He's concerned about the issues you have, knowledgable enough to help you along the road to healing, and courteous though the entire process.

I have heard nothing but good things about this doctor s office as my sister goes here. I was looking for PCP so I called l to make an appointment. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist was like we have an opening for tomorrow, this rarely happens would you like to book that appointment. Overjoyed I was like yes, in my head the quicker the better . She advise about the virtual appointment. So I book it. So tomorrow comes and I am looking for my HSA card for payment, can t find it. Only have the old one. So I called as soon as I realize I would need to wait for another card to come in. I tell the same lady about the issue. She was like well if you cancel, I won t be able to reschedule. I was like never? She said yes we have Strict cancellation policy. I can see if we can. If you don t hear back then we were not able to.

I never heard back. So I was very disappointed in this service. I understand we have polices in place for a reason but I never had the chance to follow the policy as it was less than 24hrs to my appointment when I scheduled. Also the lack of empathy was also a kicker. Like ma am I do not just go around breaking policies and you could have treated me better and reached back out. But I guess I m not worth it since I m not a patient of y all and won t be giving any money to you all.

I have been around the medical field for a while now and Dr. Buffington is one of the best I have seen. He never makes it feel rushed and actually listens and cares about you. The PA is equally as great and very knowledgeable. The staff always greets you with a smile and knows everyone by name. I don't see myself going to a different doctors office, ever!

I have been coming to Dr. Ryan for a very long time. He sits and listens to me asks questions, is extremely helpful and provides me with the medical advice I would expect from my physician. He is the best. I am from Canada and I can say honestly, there is no doctor that has ever looked after my medical health the way he has. I have seen a couple of specialists who are a pair of quacks. They need a lesson in manners and how they treat their patients. Dr. Ryan has a wonderful mannerism and I can be blunt with him. My visits are always worth my while.

Dr. Buffington is amazing- my whole family loves him. The downside is his office staff. They are generally awful. You get the "you've reached us outside of our normal business hours" message all the time during normal business hours and when you leave a message- no one ever calls you back. I have a co-worker that sees Dr. Buffington as well and we commonly discuss our frustrations with the staff. The occasional time that you do get someone on the phone they are most often very unhelpful. I am currently trying to get results of a test that I need prior to a minor surgery scheduled later this week. I called Dr. Buffington's office to check on them and the woman who answered the phone wouldn't even check to see if they had received them yet. She said there was nothing she could do to help me and that I would just need to wait for a call from them. It's so frustrating. Even though I adore Dr. Buffington, my frustrations with the staff has left me searching for a new primary care doctor.

My daughter's first visit went so well that in the car afterwards she, at 13 yrs old, said, "mom, this place is cozy, classy, comfortable and that dr really got me." Before she and i entered, i suggested what i hoped the outcome would look like...low and behold, dr investigated and offered his plan-which mirrored our hopes! My daughter was so relieved she was EXHAUSTED afterwards and fell asleep in the car. She had been holding in so much that it was like a weight lifted from her shoulders. I felt very peaceful and energized at the same time, bcz we feel that true help is on the way! We like this office's professionalism from start to finish.

I was a weight loss patient at this office for about 3 months. Initially, everything was great. Staff was excellent. I came in for an appointment a month ago and the nurse practitioner and assistant were no longer there. The nutritionist was left to run the weight loss program and she was swamped. The next week, I was told that the nutritionist quit to return to grad school. She contacted me via social media and said that she quit because the program was being mismanaged. I was disappointed that the staff and physician in charge made up a story about her. This week a friend whom I had referred to the program went to her appointment only to find that the program has been dumped by the doctor. The receptionist told my friend that they had tried to call her before she drove all the way over there...complete lie. I tried to call the office to ask about getting my money back (I had just paid 10 days ago) and no one would answer the lines. I had planned on using the doctor for my primary care physician but after all of this mess and being lied to, I will NOT return and will advise everyone else to steer clear. It's a shoddy operation and not the way a medical office should be run.

Always a friendly staff and Dr. Buffington takes his time to listen to everything you have to say. Always feel at ease in their office.

Having done business with him in the past and now as a patient, I can say Dr buffington is everything you want a physician to be. The staff is very kind and patient even when I was late to my appointment. You won't be disappointed if you choose him as your doctor.

His office is just awful! I had to leave because his office was just a joule. The doctor s that he has working for him and his staff is always changing! They send prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy and it takes several frustrating calls to get it settled. I have been his patient for years and it just got so bad , I had to leave. I felt he passed me off to all his associates and every time I went in I saw someone different to find out the other doctor left. I felt he didn t care at all. Unless you like turn overs and a changing office staff that doesn t call you back, I wouldn t recommend him at all!

I couldn't understand why I couldn't make 2 appointments in the same day until it dawned on me......insurance! You see, Dr. Buffington requires me to see separate PA's for separate diagnosis . I see one for my sleep meds and one for thyroid meds. I tried to book 2 appointments to see each PA in the same day as it is difficult to take off work, but was told that they can't make 2 appointments in the same day. Well, after talking with my insurance company, I realized that they can't CHARGE for 2 appointments in the same day under Dr. Buffington (who the claims are under). So basically, I think he pushes you off on his PA's to separate out the office visit billings. I don't agree with this and will be looking for another physician that can handle 2 prescriptions!

I am new to Keller and have been looking to establish care with a PCP. I found Dr. Buffington yesterday and would highly recommend him. He was thorough, compassionate, and very easy to talk to. The staff was friendly and I only waited about 5 minutes in the lobby before being seen. I am busy so the short wait time is a big deal for me. If anyone is looking for a new PCP, Dr Buffington is great!

I was a bit hesitant to go back because Tate left abruptly, however, I am so pleased that I did. Dr. Buffington was a delight. He is professional yet still maintained a genuine caring attitude during the visit. I will be returning.
