Buffetrestaurant Thijs & Aafke Review

We had a wonderful lunch. We chose this restaurant because they had an extensive lunch menu. Their ice creams and waffles are also recommended.

We arrived at 18.30. O.a. the Chili con carne did not look more representative. I also had the feeling that the dessert department had deteriorated. I had a tart with a colored layer. Very dry, wrong choice (?). Staff fine, but why the lady pick up from the dishes does not leave a table clean (obviously not part of her job) and you leave your guests between the dirty tables I do not like. Less satisfied as other years, but then I arrived earlier. Pretty pricey for many cheap products.

Met zeven personen gegeten, bediening was goed, echter het buffet was slecht geregeld, bakken waren vaak leeg en worden niet tijdig gevuld, terwijl het restaurant lang niet vol was.
Als je het vlees of vis door de kok laat bereiden, dan is het nagenoeg koud als je aan tafel bent.
Dit komt omdat je in de rij bij het buffet weer moet aansluiten voor je andere warme gerechten.

Om 21.30 wordt er netjes gevraagd of je nog wilt deelnemen voor het warme buffet, je kunt daarna gebruik maken van de nagerechten. Ook dit was een mislukking, het buffet was bijna leeg en werd niet bijgevuld. Kortom geen leuke avond.

Had a very nice children's party. Great service, our waiter took good care of the children and us. Tap water free. And everything is smoke-free, except for a special smoking cabin.

Reception was warm. Waiting for staff at the table. We were asked if we wanted an explanation of how it works. We really wanted that.
The explanation was concise: "There it is, there it is and that it was".
Explanation drinks we had missed, how does it work with the dirty plates etc ....

The service did its best. Young folks who work there had to search several times to order drinks.

The meat was very brief but well prepared. The rest of the budget comes from the supermarket. Fried vegetables were limp and very dry. The mushrooms seemed to have been there for 2 hours, the cheese had become hard.

I would be ashamed of myself if it were my shop.

Far too expensive, 128 euros for 4 people (1 of whom only drank tap water).

Nobody came to ask if everything was okay, a bit of a shame.

The staff did his / her best but were noticeably clearing "Mom and Dad".

Unfortunately, definitely not for us again.

I thought it was a disappointment. not a lot of choice. there was only 1 cook available and he spoke little Dutch. no one asked how you want your meat, he just bakes it. sometimes medium, sometimes strange again. he had not baked my salmon long enough, it was raw inside. said it and his response was sushi, isn't it raw? he has made a new one. this too was not completely cooked. at the checkout the man takes the money and says thanks, it was only when we stopped that we got our change. very weird. I'm not coming back here. don't think it's worth the money!

Sit on the terrace, stay well. Wide choice of soups salads and cold fish dishes. For everyone who is not a difficult eater there is always something tasty. We will definitely come again. Hier een zo'n maand geleden gegegeten en ik heb genoten. Eten was warm en genoeg keus. Bakken waren vol en het personeel was vriendelijk en niet bang voor een grapje!

First thing I noticed was how spacious and well kept the place is. Nice service and the food was good. I did think it was lacking vegetarian options though, and food wasn't labeled veggie or not. I had some fish and mossels which were fresh and tasty. Oh and I combined the grand dessert buffet with a freshly baked pancake... it was sooo good~ there weren't a lot of customers so the buffet was easy to access, I think on busy days this might be a problem though. All and all I had a great experience with my family including my 4 year nephew who had a blast.

We were very disappointed. First of all by what we think, the owner, brought to our table. We were not even one he was already gone, without any explanation. After waiting a while, a waitress finally picked up. She was very friendly, apologized for the long wait, gave explanations and took our order for drinking. The cold buffet was okay, but the hot buffet is not. Dried out chips, a pasta dish that was so dried out that the pasta had become tough-crunchy again. Other dishes with dried rice or meat. Everything was old and dehydrated. Let the children bake a pancake. The cook has allowed the butter to burn up to 3 times, because he was desperately needed elsewhere.

A few times grumpy heard from the owner on staff. Paying in my opinion to the other owner (or wife of) there was no smile from, where she did not even look at me. Not a "everything was to your liking" or until next time ". Really not customer friendly!

The reason why we did not leave is that my in-laws seemed very satisfied. And to find everything nice. I have therefore said nothing, not to spoil the atmosphere.
Otherwise I would have left my family.
Afterwards my parents-in-law shared my opinion and did not want to complain for the same reason.
But guys, how bad this was!

For a buffet restaurant, where hospitality plays a role, a reprimanding managerial detracts from the guest's experience. Do this outside hearing distance and out of sight of customers.

An incredibly good brunch with so much choice from cold to hot, everything was just as good not to mention the fantastic dessert buffet. Huge!

Last night I ate delicious with my colleagues. Very much choice, something for everyone. Not only the standard choices but also many extra separate dishes. Much tasted and everything was delicious. The live cooking gives that little bit extra. Buffet buffet very extensive and all for a good price in a cozy restaurant! TOP!

Cozy with your group in a separate room. The food was versatile and well cared for. Sufficient drive to eat quietly and pleasantly.

Tonight again delicious eaten at Thijs and Aafke.
Tasty baguette in advance and then enjoy the delicious salads or a delicious soup, I think the pie in advance is very tasty. Everything looks clean and fresh. Great food, lots of variety in hot and cold dishes. Different salads, it all looked delicious .. Very friendly staff. Nice accommodation and everything clean and tidy. We were married for 19 years and were offered a delicious dessert with sparkling candles. With the congratulation. Nice suprice. We arrived for the first time, but certainly not for the last.
