It's hard to find anything negative about this place. The food was awesome, well seasoned and well plated. You can tell that some love went into this food. We tried a variety of different foods and they all hit the mark. Fried Pickles, Biscuits, Brisket, Fried Chicken and Waffles, Fried Chicken, awesome collards, red beans and rice, baked beans. Man my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Even my son who is a picky eater enjoyed his food. Desserts were banana cream pie and apple cobbler. I'm definitely coming back here again.

I normally don't write reviews - if a restaurant is bad, I just never go back. However, I wish I had heeded the previous poster's advice and stayed far, far away from this place...please do yourself a favor and do the same.
The 1-star is for the hush puppies - the only edible dish my husband and I had, and a good portion of it too, which is good b/c the rest of meal was simply unsatisfactory. It came out piping hot and tasted like donuts, though I didn't understand the honey mustard dipping sauce that came with it.
The one dish I wanted to try here was the chicken & waffles. How hard could that be to make, right? Well, the fried chicken was nothing special - they are on par with Popeye's or KFC. Small, full of breading. It was crispy, though - I'll give them that. The waffles on the other hand were floppy, doughy pieces of rubber. I prefer my waffles crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside - doesn't everyone? They did not provide syrup, instead they serve them with "honey & raspberry butter". The butter was old, did not taste fresh at all...nothing worse than old butter that tastes like it's been sitting in the fridge, uncovered for too long.
My husband got the catfish po'boy. And being that I don't like fish, I didn't want to try it but forced myself to taste if the fish was fresh. It had that slight "fishy" flavor which, should not exist if the fish is fresh. Not sure why I expected it to be... my husband ate it, even though it was void of any flavor/sauce/seasoning.
Lastly, the "ambiance" is overrated. Sure, it's railway car exterior is cute and the inside is relatively clean - but there was a smell that reminded me of a hospital as soon as I stepped in. Not what I want to be reminded of when I'm about to have a meal. Shouldn't a place that small be wafting of delicious aromas of food? Nope. It smelled sterile. It makes me wonder if they do any actual "cooking".
Places like these is why I don't have any faith in the Long Island food scene. Please, if you want good bbq or "comfort food', don't come here. Make a trip to the city and go to Hill Country BBQ, or Mighty Quinn's (and many others!), or Butcher Bar in Astoria. You'll spend a little more but you won't hate yourself afterwards.
Authentic New Orleans style cuisine on Long Island. Excellant food and great service. Specials during different times of the year. The food is constantly good and matches the tastes you would get in New Orleans. The field chicken is great. The Po-boy sandwiches are great. They have killer desserts. The place is cash only but the meals are a great value. Highly recommend!!
From the Arnold palmer to the Mac and cheese to the chicken and waffles, you can tell every dish is made with love. The staff are super nice and accommodating as well.
This site is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. everytime I I need a proper supper, this is the place that comes straightaway to my mind. superb and many types of food and a rich cuisine.great crew, and pleasant mood. Also important, the tariff is reasonable. I praise this restaurant with no hesitation.
Thank You Google Maps, Was in the area shopping and Google Maped Restaurants, after passing on all the chains, Saw this one, Who Could resist the name. Wow, Who could resist the food, Was amazing, down to the homemade pie, potato salad, and the pulled pork sandwich. Warm, Tastee, reminding me of my Southern Heritage and Brewed Iced Tea Do stop by, certainly off the beaten path, but WORTH IT Thank You Google Maps!!!
