Great luggage storage for the traveller who needs to leave a bag somewhere for the day. Not very secure but if you have nothing valuable I'd recommend leaving your bags here while your out and about during the day, I did twice, there is no charge. Also we had a drink there after, staff were very friendly.

Very comfortable and spotlessly clean, the bar has music at night, good beer, we recommend "Paddy Torino's" accross the street for a fantastic breakfast, cooked to order. Topped off a great stay

Best histel in Cork.

Best histel in Cork.
It is well priced and the staff is friendly.
Moreover, they often have live music and a bar that is open till late (a rarity in Cork) with a good selection of beer.

I can only review the hostel since I never did the bar. The actual hostel was just alright, clean enough. What ticked me off was this little green light in my room that was way to bright and kept me up, part of the fire alarm or something. Breakfast was just toast and cereal.

Haven't stayed in many hostels, but this one was pretty good. Everything was clean and service was good. Location is within walking distance to the English market and to the main city area. Pretty good places to eat nearby with discounts in certain places. Only stayed a night and had to leave early the next day. Would stay here again.

Hostel itself it just alright. Mediocre common spaces, but the kitchen is good. Rooms are small and the bathroom have annoying showers that you have to hold to keep on. Breakfast is crappy bread and cereal, but better than nothing. Hostel is a little more expensive than it's worth.

Helpful and accomodating staff. Decent rooms and bathrooms, although both are a bit small. Simple free breakfast and free WiFi (although the latter can be a little sporadic). So many interesting people pass through so it's definitely worth chatting to those around you. Very affordable if you're on a budget.

I've only ever had a coffee at this place comma but the staff are really nice and the coffee is good. It's a good place to sit and watch the city go by over 20 minutes and a cup of coffee.

Once went in there and ordered a beer. The staff member told me that "We don't serve people wearing runners! " I told her I wasn't wearing runners, she said "...ok" and served me. It was a strange experience.

The rooms were slightly better than exactly as you'd expect for a budget hostel. My biggest points are that they were clean and at a comfortable temperature - the only downside would be the street traffic noise, which is probably unavoidable considering location. The hostel staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating during our stay.
As for the bar section, I would give that a full 5 stars and a huge shout out to Michael (it was his first day there on the day we visited) who was amazingly friendly and provided good conversation while we enjoyed our drinks.

Conviniently located over a bar, Bru is one of the most popular hostels in Cork. It's just over the bridge from the bus station and a few minutes walk from the city center. Overall: great location.
The rooms are very small with only beds and a trash can crammed inside. The bathrooms are stuffy, the common area is closed at midnight and you have nowhere but the bar to hang out if your roommates are already asleep.

Very welcoming, friendly staff the place has a holiday feel about it, attracts fun people, and has the occasional late night singalong as well as bands pool table free breakfasts, what's not to like, I would certainly staychere again.
The beds have individual lights and plugs plus USB sockets

Nice and clean hostel in a great location. Bar below where to get down and have fun not noisy for those staying. Only note, if you are on the 3rd floor you have to do 80 steps at a time.

Bar renowned especially for the live music that is played there almost daily. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly and many beers and drinks are available in a very nice bar. A little eccentric to other places, still quite accessible even on foot, and you can easily spend a whole evening there.

The hostel shares its entrance with a popular bar until late, essential clean, the rooms are poorly equipped and picole (1 single outlet for a dormitory with 4 beds). Good location just a short walk from the center and very close to the train and bus stations.
Recommended for a stay of a few nights given the central location.
