Brooks Family YMCA of the First Coast Review

The staff is very nice and friendly. The pool has been closed half a dozen times we wanted to use it. From bad past experience today we checked the website and it said it open. Lies all lies. We have even called and the front desk said the pool was open and it wasn't. FYI when I canceled they still charged an extra $117 for the next months membership. I guess 20 days notice to cancel isn't enough time for them to not charge for the next month.
The gym is nice, just very pricey.

YMCA Brooks is actually one of the nicer places to be if there wasnt this Subway caffe at the entrance with this terrible smell of burned bread with meatballs and other processed food that you can smell all the way up to the first floor. It STINKS and sometimes it is hard to breath if you are training there.
This place smells like a cheap pizzeria.

MR MANAGER OF YMCA....PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND SOLVE YOUR AIR INLET AND EXHAUST SYSTEM before your members change their membership to LA

Brooks YMCA has been a God send to me. Through the Silver Sneakers program I have full membership access to the facility, its programs, classes and staff. It is a clean, safe, well equipped facility in which to work out and learn. The staff is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The programs are informative and the classes are challenging and fun.

This YMCA is not so well maintained. Swimming pool is somewhat dirty. There are certain bad manners among staffs. The girls (Lauren) at front desk seem to have menoxenia problem.

Love this place. I would get a membership simply by how clean it is.
