British Council Muscat Review

Trying to get my Test Report Form has been such a hassle. No one responds to emails. Ridiculous!

Requested a replacement IELTS certificate and no one gets back to your emails or gives you any update for two months but they hound you for the payment.

We are waiting to collect our IELTS report from the office since the lockdown, now almost all the offices are open except British Council? Take the precautions and plss release our report many of us have pending work to be done. Don't open for business at least handover our documents pls.

Worst Managed, poorly administered place.
Its a star name tag British Council across the globe, big security like in airport scan people while entering. Minimum waiting time for a simple payment is 1 to 2 hours will surely give an idea/ overview how this agency and its administration in Muscat. Interestingly you will see many wandering office tag bearers inside this office. Reaching one of them asking some info or favor will greet back with a statement I m sorry, unfortunately....... Asked for a feedback form, it took 20 minutes for getting it, another 15 minutes for searching where the feedback form to be submitted. No feedback boxes. The feedback has to handover to front office and the front office has no CLUE how that has to be dealt with bluntly asking what is this? Who gave it to you? No coordination, Bad Front office, no training given on customer care etc. Those who enter this office with a mindset as if this is a prestigious organization will undoubtedly comment as SCARY and WORST!! experience once they get out of that premises.

I did IELT test one on 19 Aug and now its 7th of Sep. I have called them more than 8 times asking for my results. I didn't want to go their unless I knew my score first ( because what's the point of driving all the way their and then I discover that I didn't get the score I wanted). The fist 3 times I called they says that results are not available online yet. After that they told me that its available. So I tried getting my results online but it required my candidate number which I didn't know. So I called again asking for it. They again told me sorry miss but you can't view your results now. So I waited for almost a week. Now I called again, they gave me the wrong candidate number so I called again and then they gave me the right one. And it still didn't work. I couldn't view my results so I told them and they said sorry come pick up your results. Now I have to go all the way to British council to find out that I didn't get the score I wanted. SUCH A WASTE OF TIME!!!!!

I wish there was other training center than British council only so they know the value of their student, even the call center wasn't polite and keeps on arguing and blaming 17 years old kid for her wrong selection, and teaching me their JD, very bad I hope not to visit them again.

Amazing Staff , very Professional. Teachers are very experienced and understanding .

Of all the british councils i have been to, this is the most unethical one and the most rude staff altogether.
Dont know how to direct and dont have any association with london training institute for which you are directed through their official website.
They denied links with them once the registration was done with tge institute.

I do not recommend anyone who has studies overseas (i.e. outside Oman) to verify their certificates in the British Council. The fees that are paid to authenticate and stamp the certificate are exceeding 40 Omani Riyals, although you will realize after that the stamp is not valid at any public institution. Therefore, i highly discourage anyone to use this institution for certification verification matters, because it is simply useless and you will have to go through the loop of ministry of external affairs and the ministry of higher education. Don t donate your money to them!

We had very bad experience with ILS test , it seems there's no coordination between the different sections ,, we missed the test,,

We don't get a clear information from the people how we are contacting every week ,, they are not helpful at all,,

I had twice registered for the IELTS exam through their website and had no problems whatsoever. The staff/examiners were very polite and cordial. Even the customer service representatives were incredibly helpful. I certainly would suggest trying to go through the information available online before visiting the office as it would save you considerable time and effort

Its a good place to learn english.
I highly recommend it.

Excellent...I'm missing all the staffs in British Council

Would recommend not getting your degree attested from here, it takes ages. Have been calling the council for over a week now for an update on my degree verification. Literally every call ends with them saying 'we will send in an urgent request, and someone will call you back shortly'. This has happened 4 times already WITHOUT them giving me an update/status of my application.

Horrible service!!
