Mixed bag ...it does the job, but I didnt like the owner's attitude! She was nasty when I complained about something!! Not professional, nor impressed. I'd look elsewhere for my next stay in Methven.!!

I loved this place in Methven, New Zealand. It had everything we needed, including laundry! We used this as home base and loved walking around town and driving around the countryside - but I especially loved coming home after a long day to watch the sunset and the incredible views of Mt. Hutt from our unit (20B)

When we got there at 2.30 in the afternoon the staff member was busy on the phone which was fine. We checked in we were charged peak rates again we were ok with this. Then was told that everything we need would be in the compendium in our room. When we got to our rooms we went through the compendium and noted that there was 2 different listings for the tv channels and not one of them matched what was actually working nor did the remote work. The compendium said we should get the WIFI password from the office however the office had told us at checkin that it would be in the compendium. I then went to go to the office at 4pm and no one was there to ask the question. I went to look at the Restaurant for an option for dinner and this was still closed. There was a sign that said it was closed through June. We were staying in July. I completely understand we were there during what would be a peak season but to not have your peak season offerings available we werent comfortable with this. We only stayed 1 night and then moved on. The Location is perfect if you are looking for somewhere before going up to Mt Hutt. Room was tidyish with a dirty wine glass found in the cupboard.

Recently, I went with a school group to the Brinkley Resort. I loved every moment I was there, and was especially appreciative of the quality accommodation, facilities (especially the hot tubs!), and the brilliant service. The owners of Brinkley; Paul and Gayle, are absolutely lovely and went out of their way to ensure every minute of our stay was comfortable. I would highly recommend this resort for an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

We had dinner here for a celebration. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel special and looked after. The food was absolutely delicious! Probably the nicest meal I've tasted in a long time. The sauces were to die for. The only issue was my partner thought his was a little small for the priceaprice mine was perfect. Desserts and wines also great. Very cosy room with the really fire. Would definitely come again.

We asked for a garden and view room and they gave us a room with nothing we requested. We were offered to change to an apartment with two double rooms for $ 250. The bar that told us where there was a fireplace and dining option was closed. We leave unhappy.

Extremely comfortable, warm, friendly and cozy family accommodation just a short stroll from Methven and super close to Mount Hutt. The ski bus and airport shuttle pick up and drop off directly at reception. And Shackleton's restaurant and bar is the best place to eat in town.

Room was outdated and obviously haven't been cleaned/checked properly before we moved in. there were spider webs all around the window and bathroom was very filthy. The guy running the place was good to deal with.

Clean and friendly. Just a walk to methven where there are some great places to eat and ski/snowboard hire. There is also a licenced premises/restaurant on site. There are two hot spas on site but they are situated by the restaurant and while this is great for being able to grab a drink, it's very public as people from the restaurant can easily view you from the windows they're next to. Not so good if you're body concious or prefer not to be on display. Rooms are cosy with upstairs and downstairs available. Kitchenette/bedroom with sky tv. bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. Shared laundry between rooms. Paid wifi available.

When we arrived the place was in an acceptable state. We had to rewash a few of the food encrusted plates and as long as you didn t look in the corners the place was clean Insufficient towels for guests, and not once in our week long stay were the rooms cleaned or restocked with basics like toilet paper, soap, detergent, etc Would I look elsewhere next time. Yes.

I had an amazing stay during a work conference. The rooms were very nice and the staff were super friendly with plenty of facilities to keep you busy. Recommend if you are planning to stay in Methven or visit Mt. Hutt.
