Really expansive and good selection of beers. There s a huge variety of bottles from around the world and usually a fairly diverse selection of beers on tap. I really appreciate their passport promotion - they give you a passport in which to track the beers you ve had from different breweries around the world. The goal for the first passport is to drink 80 beers from around the world within a year - which is pretty doable and is a fun reminder to get together with your bros regularly to hang out and drink new beers. At the end, you will have got prizes including a hoodie, a mug, and a plaque with your name on it on the wall. Would recommend. The second passport includes a lot of 750ml bottles, though, so it s a lot harder to finish. As you can tell, I have been to Bottlescrew s a lot, so take that for what you will.

Anyway: typically good service, food is pretty good, premises are okay. This rating is mostly about the beer, which was good, and the times with friends, which were also good.

Bottlescrew Bill's Pub is separated into two sections. The actual pub and the restaurant at the front of house. There is a huge beer selection that would appease any beer snob with a Cask selection every Wednesday. Staff are knowledgeable, quite friendly and make the attempt to remember your name. There is also an opportunity to partake in a "trip around the world" were you will pay to get a passport, and then drink beers off one of 3 lists (at time of writing) to experience different regions beer. There is rewards based on how many you knock off the list, rewarded at 20, 40, 60 and 80 beers consumed. Upon completing the passport you will have the opportunity to get your name put on a plaque on the wall in the designated passports color. This is a great place to take friends and converse over a bevereage.

My go to place. Great selection, rotating tap and LATE NIGHT FOOD.
The different rooms provide a different experience each time. My favorite is the middle room with the fireplace on a cold day :)
Staff are always kind and considerate.
There is a lot of events for different things like Flames night or Bingo.
The Passport is a pretty cool challenge (to drink 80 beers from around the world in 1 year). Once complete you get your name on a plack in the middle room!
If you want an authentic Calgary local pub, here yeah be.

Genuinely amazing staff here.

Genuinely amazing staff here.

They make you feel welcome no matter the time of day, with excellent service to boot!

The food is consistently incredible, with delicious meals and great deals.

Server Venessa, always makes the experience feel personal, warm and unique.

Bartender Johnny always has good suggestions of beers to try - something new & interesting.

Manager Rob is a joy to have around, and will always treat you like a superstar.

This is my new regular pub & hope that the service level stays consistent - something rare to find in Calgary right now!

Great time here best nachos in calgary and my friends and I have tried many places, this is our how I met your mother bar we always go to. Added bonus trying out their beer selection from all over is also great I have gone through all of them yet but I plan on it.

Went tonight and both Daniel sand the girl working (missed her name) we re both very attentive, knowledgeable and strongly supported the local beer scene. HUGE variety of beers, reasonable prices and great atmosphere. Definitely coming back again!

Review update: Geoff had reached out to see if the restaurant could provide a better impression than the lackluster experience that we had experienced on our first visit. We took him up on his generous offer and made a return visit last night during a Flames game, and I'm glad we did.
There were several food and drink specials going on, and we decided on the buzzard burger special that's available during every Flames game.
The burger itself was very good, especially given the special price, and was definitely worth it. We also had a few of the cask beers they had on special, which were as tasty as last time. Our waitress gave us a rundown on what the difference is between the cask beer and the regular tap beer from other bars and restaurants, which we didn't know about and was pretty neat.
Geoff came over to our table to introduce himself, which was very much appreciated. And our overall experience was a very good one, and I can definitely see myself returning regularly. Next time I'll probably ask about the beer passport, it seems like a pretty neat thing.

First time at this place, and I'm still undecided if I'd come back again. The positives being that the food special and beer for that night were quite affordable, and the beer was quite tasty.
However the service was kinda lacking, and our table had 4 different waitresses throughout our visit. We waited a pretty significant length between our two rounds of beers, and for our order of fish and chips. When we received our food we were asked if we wanted vinegar, to which we said yes. 10 minutes later we realized that vinegar wasn't going to be coming.
Maybe the place was significantly busier than it appeared, because our initial waitress seemed really frazzled when we had to ask for our bills.
All in all, there are other places in the area with comparable atmosphere, food menu, and prices. If we ever do make a return, maybe it will be when the place seems more empty.

Came here for drinks during stampede. Place was loud and we couldn't really carry a conversation. Drinks were good and cheap. I would've preferred glass to plastic cups. The place was dark and felt more like a bar than a pub.

Had a few apps and beers before the flames game. Food was delicious, beers were great and majority of the staff was awesome.. really awesome. We would 100% return.

(our server wasn't very good, wasn't even busy enough to turn a blind eye, always hanging at the computer "looking busy" and complaining within earshot to anyone who would listen. The rest of the staff picked up his slack.)

Hit up there patio on a beautiful Monday after work. The happy hour specials are great with lots of options and the Monday Butter Chicken was delicious.
Service was exactly what it needed to be too.
The patio views could have been a bit better but I don't want to judge them on that as they have the best they can do.

I'm a fan of this place. Haven't tried the food, but the selection of beers is wild. Amazing happy hour deals from 3-6. Pretty dark inside, so not somewhere I'd take a date. They have Last Best Tokyo Drift on tap, which is something hard to find outside of the Last Best brewery itself.
