Boot Campaign: Honoring and Restoring the Lives of Veterans and Military Families
Boot Campaign is a non-profit organization that aims to unite Americans in honoring and restoring the lives of veterans and military families. Founded in 2009 by five women who wanted to make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country, Boot Campaign has since become a leading voice for veterans' issues.
At Boot Campaign, we believe that every veteran deserves respect, gratitude, and support for their service. We also recognize that many veterans face unique challenges when they return home from active duty. These challenges can include physical injuries, mental health issues such as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), difficulty finding employment or housing, financial struggles, and more.
To address these challenges head-on, Boot Campaign offers a range of individualized programs designed to improve the lives of veterans and military families. These programs include:
1. Health & Wellness: Our Health & Wellness program provides access to holistic healing services such as acupuncture, massage therapy, yoga classes, nutrition counseling, and more. We believe that taking care of one's physical health is essential for overall well-being.
2. Housing Assistance: Many veterans struggle with finding affordable housing after returning home from active duty. Our Housing Assistance program helps connect veterans with safe and stable housing options.
3. Career Services: Finding meaningful employment can be challenging for many veterans due to factors such as gaps in work history or difficulty translating military skills into civilian job qualifications. Our Career Services program provides job training resources such as resume writing assistance and interview coaching.
4. Financial Assistance: Many veterans face financial hardships due to medical bills or other unexpected expenses related to their service. Our Financial Assistance program provides emergency grants to help cover these costs.
5. Family Support: The families of military personnel also make sacrifices during times of deployment or transition back into civilian life. Our Family Support program offers resources such as counseling services or childcare assistance to help ease some of these burdens.
In addition to these individualized programs, Boot Campaign also hosts events throughout the year designed to raise awareness about veteran's issues while bringing communities together in support of our nation's heroes.
One example is our annual "Pushups For Charity" event where participants pledge donations based on how many pushups they can complete within two minutes - all proceeds go towards supporting our programs for veterans!
