Great food. Good ambience. But little slow service. Thali was great. Roti and Rogan josh were great!! No deserts in menu. I will return soon
I had a superb at this spot. We enjoyed the first-rate ambience and the menu. The waiters are very amiable. I m happy we eventually decided to visit this place.
My go-to Indian place, friendly staff and amazing food. Mango lassi & chicken tikka makhani and I m good :)
Taste and quality of the food (at least at its Buffet) has dropped significantly. I hope the dinner service is much better.
Being an indian, I couldn't stop my tears. This was the perfect definition of killing someone else's culture. Though, i wouldn't say the service was bad.
But, I would never go back.
They don't know how to make a veg biriyani.. a VEG BIRIYANI!
Excellent food and even better service (especially Alex!). my son and I love going here every weekend.
Bombay Bistro is the best Indian restaurant in the area. We prefer the non-meat dishes, our favorites are the Dal Makhani (side) and the Saag Paneer. The lentil has so much flavor and the spinach is the best I've ever had. I don't think you can go wrong with anything there.
Had the lunch buffet. Limited selection but ok for the venue size I guess. Only chicken dishes.
This place is totally amazing, our waitress was so nice, always attentive, and very patient. The food is legit indian food and very delicious and the dessert tasted like paradise on my tongue. Like it was awesome
One of the finest Indian restaurants in this area. Their food is not the typical "restaurant" type but more like authentic Indian home cooking. The variety is great too. Both in the number of dishes as well as having new dishes every day. The price (for the buffet) is also slightly less than other restaurants around here.
A simply must!!!!
Calamari appetizer, great. Garlic naan bread,Chicken tikka makhani, excellant. Very reasonable price.
Although the food is good, this place is very small and their lunch buffet is really, really lacking dish options. Compared to other Indian restaurant lunch buffets, it is not good. Additionally, there isn't enough parking.
I'm always between a 3 and a 4-star on this place so recently I think the quality has gone down a bit. The bread is excellent and the butter chicken is very very good but I feel it's become a little bit too Americanized for my personal pallet. The only dish that I really thought was below-average without being subjective was the biryani.
This was our first time and we'll be coming back soon! Delicious, smoky salmon, juicy and perfectly cooked tandoori style. Also the lamb rogan josh was succulent and the sauce had a great cardamom accent, a rich texture, and a great blend of flavors.
Service and food presentation was also superb. Happy 25th birthday, Bombay Bistro!
This is my favorite spot! I grew up eating the food from here and it has spoiled me! when my friends try to take me to other places the food never compares! I have to stop myself from eating here every day haha <3
Best spot to grab some food when in a rush. The customer service is rapid, prices are affordable, good character. Will visit here again
Friendly wait staff and reasonable pricing. Great food -- not the best of the best, but I think the overall experience beckons a solid 5-star review.
Food was absolutely amazing!!! Bathrooms aren't exactly up to bar cleanliness status... Server was grumpy but prompt and kept my water glass full. I will definitely be back!
Awesome experience the first time. Server appeared to be angry when we wanted a larger table. New server was very nice.
Bombay Bistro has Very good Indian food and very friendly service.
Delicious spot for your next Indian fix. Buffets pretty good too although extremely easy to over eat. Only gripe is dome dishes have been alittle light on the spices..
Been going there for 20 years, much less frequently lately as the food is delicious but too spicy for me.
I've been to BB a few times but grabbed food here recently after not eating here for a while (about a year?) and remembered how much I love it! My family especially loves the chicken tikka makhani, chicken tikka tandoor, and garlic naan. In our most recent order, we also got the chicken biryani and tandoori chicken. With our four entrees, we received ample rice and our two orders of garlic naan were quite large. The only issues we have with BB is that parking always seems to be limited when we pick up our orders (but this is minor) and we were given a 45-50 minute estimate but ended up waiting about 75 minutes. I even showed up 10 minutes late in hopes of not having to wait in the crowded restaurant. I don't mind waiting 75 minutes but would love if they overestimated wait times rather than underestimated them, so I can spend less time waiting around. For my most recent visit, I attributed it to the pandemic and the chaos of trying to get out all the orders. Other than those two bits, this place is wonderful and my go-to place for Indian food
I have visited Bombay Bistro a number of times and have always had a good experience here. I especially love their chaats and lassi.
I have been here many times. I always liked the food. But this time the buffet food was bland and some of the items were not fresh. The palak paneer, panel tasted like old cottage cheese.
Chicken was ok but on the dry side. Baked fish was good. The Veg dishes all kinda tasted same.
I hope it will get better next time if we decide
To come back.
The food they had was very good but the selection was quite limited for a weekend buffet, particularly if you like meat dishes.
My family and I love Bombay Bistro! It's one of the best things about living in Rockville. The food is delicious and the staff is always friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend if you haven't already been there.
Very expensive place. Food quality not worth the cost. Although sitting arrangement is really good
I have ever been disappointed. I may not be Indian, so I can't talk about authentic, but I can talk to the American taste bud, and their food will make anyone happy. :)
Popped in for lunch the other day with some friends. Had the buffet. Definitely a buy!
Tons of options for vegans an vegetarians, and the kitchen was super helpful when I had questions. Huge fan of the saag dish. Their roti is vegan! :^)
First clue- Indian restaurant, all white patrons. Tried it anyways. Food was ok, but VERY VERY bland. Zero heat, and minimal spices. Catering too much to a bland American palate. Will skip this place in the future.
Food was delicious. Staff was very nice, friendly and polite. Such a great restaurant and they've been in the area for over a Quarter Century now!
$10 Lunch buffet on weekdays, the selection rotates too so there are always new things to try!
$10 buffet, and you can even carry out! Fit everything in the box as you could!
Great food, flavor is totally indian and original. Great customer service. Fully recommended. Prices are ok
I've had the weekend lunch buffet so many times they know me here.
Horrible Service.
All their food are bland. Waiters and managers don't care about their customers. We order four items and only got three. And the worst of all no one came to check up on us to ask how was our food.
Brunch is an excellent value at 9.95. The food is also excellent, with a selection of about 20 different items.
Visiting from NY... awesome and amazing Veg options. A definite must if craving Indian Cuisine
I like the dishes ordered off the menu. I'm always happy with the food. Service is ok.
Absolutely great dining experience. Waiters/waitresses stand ready to serve and they know the menu items. There's no one person waiting on a particular section. When you need something anyone working will serve you. The food and the flavors were absolutely great. My wife got the salmon which was cooked great. My chicken palak was tender and great flavors. The chicken tacos (yes tacos at an Indian restaurant) were a great way to start the dinner. Did I mention that all the flavors were awesome????
The food was great, although a little on the expensive side.
Absolutely delicious! My mother in law was especially raving about the Baingan Bhartha dish. Thank you for another delicious dinner!
Bombay bistro has a very warming ambience. The staff is very cordial. Here vegetarians also have many options like Papadi chaat, samosas, tikis, cauliflower stuffed naan n many more.
The food is very appetizing.
Always delicious food and very accommodating! Helpful with questions on various dishes
They offer a nice variety of fresh food. I like eating here. Staff members are always helpful, prices are affordable and the place is always kept clean.
Stopped by here for the first time a few days back for dinner and absolutely loved it! A friend had recommended the place, and I am so happy we stopped in. The flavors were amazing, and the dishes had just the right amount of spice. Our server was very polite, and the place itself has a very cozy and comfortable feel. Definitely a best kept secret of Rockville - I will be coming back soon!
Had a lunch gathering with some coworkers the food was great. There salad with the pickled onion was spicy but good. I will be going back for the lunch buffet.
One of Rockville's secrets. Have enjoyed many items off of the menu over the years. I forget the name but the sample platter they offer is a great bargain and allows you to sample many flavors.
Good place for an Indian buffet for lunch. Authentic food, well cooked and a good spread. Relaxed environment and friendly staff. Chicken dishes are good, fish is great to taste. Good parking outside the restaurant
Food was tasty and fresh , their staff was horrible for a small place thier isnt any customer service or friendliness .
Omg I had the buffet and everything was so delicious!! The rice pudding was the best I've had! Friendly service, will be back :)
Bomb bigity they do togo container for same price as the dine in buffet
Great food and one of precious few places open to eat late on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Great music and atmosphere, but most importantly, great food! Don't leave without trying the garlic naan. Sahil is always glad to see us and Tito is a self described naan master. Definitely worth the trip.
This is one of my local favorites. They have such great quality food for their lunch buffet it's hard to resist when it's so close to my work! If you are looking for extremely delicious and authentic Indian cuisine, please look no further!
The service is great at this location,The cantelope tasted like . If you're going to Denny's, order the lumberjack slam or pancake stack. Minus another star for how cold it was inside- everybody had their coats on.
Not a great selection at their lunch buffet. Good service and okay food.
I have only been for the buffet, but it is amazing!
Love this restaurant, from a simple Dal Makhni and Roti to a nice celebratory dinner with family, with Tandoori Shrimp or Shrimp and Scallop Masala - always consistent in taste. Nice that they have Kingfisher beer to wash the food down. Friendly neighborhood family restaurant and one of the only one's I know that serves the Peppery Chicken Chettinad.
Food is good . Staff is good . Place is little compact. Less variety on buffet.try to in less busy hours .
Delicious traditional Indian cuisine. Get the garlic naan!
Good was great, nice atmosphere, good staff. Will definitely be back.
The best indian food in the DC metro area! Everything is so tasty.
I love the dosa period . I am a frequent visitor and I get my dosa fix. I highly recommend a visit to this local restaurant.
Consistently delicious, varied menu and great service. Takeout, too!
Been coming to Bombay Bistro in Rockville for 25 years... Good Indian cuisine at a fair price.
I love this Indian buffet. Been coming for years. It is located where the Little Pigs bbq used to be in Rockville, slightly hidden from the main downtown but walking distance.
Nice buffet, small but with good selections. Excellent aloo gobi.
Wonderful food, great service, will come back for sure!
Great food and service. Had the chicken tikki mahkni and garlic naan. Would recommend both.
Great experience with Dosa and chola Batore.Customer Service is excellent.
This is the best Indian food I have ever had. I live in DC and drive 30+ minutes each way on a weekly basis to get Bombay Bistro's paneer makhani extra spicy, and it is worth every minute and every mile. Thank you Bombay Bistro!!
$11.95 for a wonderful lunch buffet in downtown Rockville!!! They will rotate the entrees, but you really can't go wrong here--they have all the classics as well as a sweet kefir rice for dessert!! If you're searching for a larger selection of food, look at Minerva in the shopping center at the corner of 355 and Shady Grove Road.
Had a wonderful dinner on all the three days i visited. One was chicken biriyani, a non veg thali and a veg thali...The taste was absolutely authentic, as i know it living in india.
Bombay Bistro holds a special place in Rockville for me. In their first two years they opened everyone I knew went and enjoyed the food so much it immediately felt like their restaurant was always a part of Rockville. In every year since the food is always amazing, so flavorful and succulent that it is the only chance I could go vegetarian because their Saag Paneer with cheese is almost as good as the Chicken Palak. The Chicken Tikka is a great introductory dish for anyone not already a fan!
This is a perfect place to hangout with nice food. Their service and items are very good.
