Bombay Bistro is the best Indian restaurant in the area. We prefer the non-meat dishes, our favorites are the Dal Makhani (side) and the Saag Paneer. The lentil has so much flavor and the spinach is the best I've ever had. I don't think you can go wrong with anything there.

One of the finest Indian restaurants in this area. Their food is not the typical "restaurant" type but more like authentic Indian home cooking. The variety is great too. Both in the number of dishes as well as having new dishes every day. The price (for the buffet) is also slightly less than other restaurants around here.
A simply must!!!!

Although the food is good, this place is very small and their lunch buffet is really, really lacking dish options. Compared to other Indian restaurant lunch buffets, it is not good. Additionally, there isn't enough parking.

I'm always between a 3 and a 4-star on this place so recently I think the quality has gone down a bit. The bread is excellent and the butter chicken is very very good but I feel it's become a little bit too Americanized for my personal pallet. The only dish that I really thought was below-average without being subjective was the biryani.

This was our first time and we'll be coming back soon! Delicious, smoky salmon, juicy and perfectly cooked tandoori style. Also the lamb rogan josh was succulent and the sauce had a great cardamom accent, a rich texture, and a great blend of flavors.
Service and food presentation was also superb. Happy 25th birthday, Bombay Bistro!

This is my favorite spot! I grew up eating the food from here and it has spoiled me! when my friends try to take me to other places the food never compares! I have to stop myself from eating here every day haha <3

I've been to BB a few times but grabbed food here recently after not eating here for a while (about a year?) and remembered how much I love it! My family especially loves the chicken tikka makhani, chicken tikka tandoor, and garlic naan. In our most recent order, we also got the chicken biryani and tandoori chicken. With our four entrees, we received ample rice and our two orders of garlic naan were quite large. The only issues we have with BB is that parking always seems to be limited when we pick up our orders (but this is minor) and we were given a 45-50 minute estimate but ended up waiting about 75 minutes. I even showed up 10 minutes late in hopes of not having to wait in the crowded restaurant. I don't mind waiting 75 minutes but would love if they overestimated wait times rather than underestimated them, so I can spend less time waiting around. For my most recent visit, I attributed it to the pandemic and the chaos of trying to get out all the orders. Other than those two bits, this place is wonderful and my go-to place for Indian food

I have been here many times. I always liked the food. But this time the buffet food was bland and some of the items were not fresh. The palak paneer, panel tasted like old cottage cheese.
Chicken was ok but on the dry side. Baked fish was good. The Veg dishes all kinda tasted same.
I hope it will get better next time if we decide
To come back.

My family and I love Bombay Bistro! It's one of the best things about living in Rockville. The food is delicious and the staff is always friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend if you haven't already been there.

Popped in for lunch the other day with some friends. Had the buffet. Definitely a buy!

Tons of options for vegans an vegetarians, and the kitchen was super helpful when I had questions. Huge fan of the saag dish. Their roti is vegan! :^)

First clue- Indian restaurant, all white patrons. Tried it anyways. Food was ok, but VERY VERY bland. Zero heat, and minimal spices. Catering too much to a bland American palate. Will skip this place in the future.

Horrible Service.

Horrible Service.

All their food are bland. Waiters and managers don't care about their customers. We order four items and only got three. And the worst of all no one came to check up on us to ask how was our food.

Absolutely great dining experience. Waiters/waitresses stand ready to serve and they know the menu items. There's no one person waiting on a particular section. When you need something anyone working will serve you. The food and the flavors were absolutely great. My wife got the salmon which was cooked great. My chicken palak was tender and great flavors. The chicken tacos (yes tacos at an Indian restaurant) were a great way to start the dinner. Did I mention that all the flavors were awesome????

Bombay bistro has a very warming ambience. The staff is very cordial. Here vegetarians also have many options like Papadi chaat, samosas, tikis, cauliflower stuffed naan n many more.
The food is very appetizing.

Stopped by here for the first time a few days back for dinner and absolutely loved it! A friend had recommended the place, and I am so happy we stopped in. The flavors were amazing, and the dishes had just the right amount of spice. Our server was very polite, and the place itself has a very cozy and comfortable feel. Definitely a best kept secret of Rockville - I will be coming back soon!

One of Rockville's secrets. Have enjoyed many items off of the menu over the years. I forget the name but the sample platter they offer is a great bargain and allows you to sample many flavors.

Good place for an Indian buffet for lunch. Authentic food, well cooked and a good spread. Relaxed environment and friendly staff. Chicken dishes are good, fish is great to taste. Good parking outside the restaurant

Great food and one of precious few places open to eat late on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Great music and atmosphere, but most importantly, great food! Don't leave without trying the garlic naan. Sahil is always glad to see us and Tito is a self described naan master. Definitely worth the trip.

The service is great at this location,The cantelope tasted like . If you're going to Denny's, order the lumberjack slam or pancake stack. Minus another star for how cold it was inside- everybody had their coats on.

Love this restaurant, from a simple Dal Makhni and Roti to a nice celebratory dinner with family, with Tandoori Shrimp or Shrimp and Scallop Masala - always consistent in taste. Nice that they have Kingfisher beer to wash the food down. Friendly neighborhood family restaurant and one of the only one's I know that serves the Peppery Chicken Chettinad.

This is the best Indian food I have ever had. I live in DC and drive 30+ minutes each way on a weekly basis to get Bombay Bistro's paneer makhani extra spicy, and it is worth every minute and every mile. Thank you Bombay Bistro!!

$11.95 for a wonderful lunch buffet in downtown Rockville!!! They will rotate the entrees, but you really can't go wrong here--they have all the classics as well as a sweet kefir rice for dessert!! If you're searching for a larger selection of food, look at Minerva in the shopping center at the corner of 355 and Shady Grove Road.

Bombay Bistro holds a special place in Rockville for me. In their first two years they opened everyone I knew went and enjoyed the food so much it immediately felt like their restaurant was always a part of Rockville. In every year since the food is always amazing, so flavorful and succulent that it is the only chance I could go vegetarian because their Saag Paneer with cheese is almost as good as the Chicken Palak. The Chicken Tikka is a great introductory dish for anyone not already a fan!
