Waited too long to be served. Not recommended on busy times

A good one. We tried Roshogolla (Rasgulla), Kalojam (Gulabjamun), Dahi-puri (Doi Fuchka) and Chole Bhaturey. We loved the tastes of all the foods. It's very authentic. The sweet items will give you the real (almost) taste of Indian cuisine. It's not full of Kewra & Rose water which is nice. The Dahi-puri was served nicely with 4/5 different sides, full of variations of flavors.

The management is a bit down, not attentive to the customers. Serving was a bit unprofessional. Our dishes were served without any napkin/tissue papers. Toilets were not cleaned.

The food price is reasonable. A good place to try without spending a lot of money.

The location is good, in the middle of the central city of Christchurch. Therefore you may find it a bit tricky to find a convenient place to park your vehicle. Road side parking is not very expensive, $2.00 an hour.

Overall experience is good, not bad. We will visit again as we are big fans of Indian sweets. Thank you :)

The most amazing taste sensation. Vegetable Manchurian (Dry), the sauce is so good, you will need extra Roti to mop the bowl clean. Make sure your dish comes with a good portion of sauce. This has the texture and taste of Swedish meatballs, but 100% vegetables and just better IMHO. I defy anyone to make a better tasting meatball.

I love mushrooms and their stuffed mushrooms are the best I have tasted in very very long time. Excuse my Kiwi ignorance, but I think they are stuffed with their Aloo Mutter (I will ask them next time), crumbed, then deep fried. They are not greasy or oily, and the explosion of tastes as you bite into them. They are juicy, the mushroom is firm, the coating is crisp and the filling just adds a whole new dimension to such a complimentary range of tastes. Make sure you ask for your mushrooms to be CRUMBED.

The "Thali Plate", our preference is Thali Plate #1 (2 x Roti) vs the #2 which is 1 x Naan. Generous portions and just so so good. I really can't say enough about these plates and the best value for money in Christchurch. If you want to experience the freshest and perfectly cooked paneer dish, then you should experience it here, you won't be disappointed.

For the 2 of us, our meals work out to 17.75 pp. Stuffed Mushrooms, Veg Manchurian, Thali Plate #1 and a Bread Pakora ($2.50).

My apologies to all the other Indian restaurants, but this place is too hard to beat

Food was good, we enjoyed our meal. The staff member was so helpful and respectful. There wasn't much noise which I also liked.

This is a must for any indian food lover. Gorgeous dishes, good atmosphere, very friendly staff and did I mention delicious food? I never take the time to write reviews but this place is worth it, put it on your must visit restaurants and book in soon.

Food is great but the waiting is too long even for small snack which is on display. Plus the servicing need more improvement.

The best place to have some street food. You can enjoy lot of varieties in chat chatpata snacks menu here. i was here with some of my friends to enjoy some chatpata food for evening.I loved the pani puri and aloo tikki chat I ordered and i think most of all local people come here to enjoy some of best snacks.. Its still in budget and good quality.. Should try here.

Was open on Boxing day as well-:) Had a veg thali, decent price and decent food.. they had a good choice of Indian sweets! Totally recommended..

The best Indian food we have had in New Zealand! My husband got the Kadai Paneer, and I got the Paneer Tika Masala. So delicious and spicy! The garlic naan was also yummy! We left very satisfied. We were also excited that the restaurant is 100% vegetarian!

Our family favourite. The staff are awesome, and the restaurant is neat and comfy with good long opening hours. The dosa and curries are delicious, and I hadn't eaten Indian sweets before - now I am a big fan. Their jalebi, boondi, barfi - so fresh and delectable. I give Bolina 5 stars and they deserve each one. Try it, Christchurch visitors and locals. You will love it!

Absolutely incredible food. Massive range exotic sweets at a great price. Probably one of the biggest range of vegetarian food of any restaurant. All at a great price. I can not reccomend enough.

Hi. I bought aaloo parantha s this morning. They were really yummy. We really liked them a lot. This was the first time we tried something from this place as we are from Auckland. I would definitely recommend this place. They were really quick in preparing my order as I had ordered over the phone and the guy at the counter was also very kind and polite. Great job guys

Mushroom poori is must try and all the sweet varieties are excellent and it is a treat to your sweet buds :)

Unfriendly staff, I was bit lost as the staff didn't seem to bother. My suggestion would be to appoint/ train the staff such as to feel welcomed.

Authentic North Indian Punjabi restaurant. Very good option for the vegetarian people. They have a full vegetarian menu and lots of sweets including fresh Jalebi every Saturday. Food 4/5, staff 3.5/5, Infrastructure 4/5, location 4/5, friendliness 4.5/5, overall 4/5.

It was really yummy! We got the food out of the cabinets, and unfortunately I can't remember the names of what we ordered, but it was super delicious! The guy at the counter was super nice, and he helped us with food that was gf and df. Would definately reccomend!

Absouletly loved eating at this place the food is as close as you'll get to real indian food just with a vegetarian twist to it. Also the boss is a very kind easy going guy forgot his name but if your reading this Mr Bolina thank you for your amazing hospitality.

Love the food here.Staff is welcoming and always smiling.Its hard to find Indian taste in Christchurch but this restaurant is promising.My hubby and I are regular here and have recommended our friends as well.

Amazing food, as close to home as you can get in Christchurch!

One of the worse indian restaurant in Christchurch. Absolutely worst customer service, the staff is weird, such a negative vibe. No smile on the face and food is tasteless. They need to really change the chef if they need customers as I tried their food 2-3 times and it was disgusting. I would never recommend any person to go to Bolina.
Their jalebis are always cold and soggy as well, with absolutely no flavour.
Need more proffesional staff than just the stressed out angry person standing there on the counter with such a low energy and negative vibe.

Service was bad. We were made to wait for 45 mins before food arrived and no one said sorry for the delay. We wanted to order an extra item but we were told that the extra item will take another 30 mins. Crazy place not worth your time.Feels like kitchen doesn't know how to handle dinner. There were not many ppl when we went. Will definitely not go there again

Worst experience we have with the staff member was so rude calling himself manger and 25 year experience in hospitality but he don't know the simple rule we order plain does which was not like fresh I just had one bight and told him about the food is not nice but staff on duty didn't bother to offer another dosa or anything. But he did show his where he spend his 25 year runing customer experience for the place he work for instead making business more smooth

Food was ok, nothing extra ordinary. Customer service is at it's worst. Strongly don't recommend. Give it a go if you don't value your time!!!

We went in there this evening .
There was another customer sitting on another table waiting for food .We waited for fifteen minutes, two staff in counter was doing the bill for one customer who was buying sweets .
After 5 minutes there was lots of north Indians who came in.They were given the menu but for us not even the courtesy to say hello will be there soon,very poor customer skill. I would never go there .Staffs don't even carry a smile .So much negativity in the place .Lastly we left there without eating anything ,staff are not even apologetic .

The service and the dealing of the staff is really nice and quality of the all the food is excellent.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere with good lightning and setting. A very good and comfy restaurant to enjoy great Indian food. Food quality was great and very authentic. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

The Worst and the most embarrassing experience ever! Ordered Thali and got served Dosa. The Chef inside accused us of ordering wrong food and saying ab toh bn gya . Absolutely disgusting. I was shocked to bits. This was the 3rd time in last 10 days we went there because of the ambience and thought this is something different but never ever going back ever again and make sure everyone in my circle knows about this. Yes Chef, you saved $5 on this particular order, congratulations! NOT! This was the worst experience ever in my life! Very Disappointed

Our food arrived fresh off the stove. Very authentic south Indian masala dosa. Palin Paneer was good and so was samosa chat. The young man even offered us dishes that were not on the menu yet. Really good food and sweets. Best of luck.

The one problem at Bolina is diners find it difficult what to order!

100% vegetarian with plenty of choices of starters, mains and desserts, diners are literally spoilt for choice.

The decor is good, location excellent and staff courteous. The food is authentic.

What more can one ask for!!
