I dream about these bagels in my sleep. My mom is from Charlottesville and that's where she and my dad met. Growing up, whenever we'd go to CVille we would always make a point to stop and grab a dozen bodo's bagels. I have lived in multiple cities and have YET to find a bagel place as good as Bodo's. The service is wonderful and the food is even more spectacular. If you go to Charlottesville, you must try Bodo's - they have something for everyone. But I would seriously eat 3-4 bagels each time we'd grab them, they are SO delicious.

This is a Charlottesville classic. Better than any New York bagels you will ever have. (The owner is from NYC. These are his recipes) if you are visiting cville you have to go to bodos.

A solid bagel place. Came here while visiting Charlottesville for a weekend. The place was pretty busy, but was able to find a table for 2.

Ordered three bagels: 1 empty cinnamon raisin, 1 everything bagel with lox/cream cheese/lettuce/tomato/onion and then one more bacon and egg. Let's pretend they were for 3 different people and not just me alone in my car. The cinnamon raisin was delightfully soft and slightly sweet, it wasn't like eating a sweet bread which is what alot of bagel shops tend to do. The everything bagel was lovely, other bagel lovers have probably come across bagels that scrape the roof of your mouth off. These were so soft and tender and chewy I didn't have any of those problems, and I had 3 of them. The lox were wonderfully salty and the cream cheese was laid on nice and thick . The bacon and egg was buttery and so soft from being in contact the warm eggs and bacon. I was worried it would be soggy but the combination of a fresh bagel and the moisture from the bacon and eggs worked wonderfully. 10/10 bagels and shmear.

I lived for four years in New York, and these bagels are better than 95% of the shops there. The one thing they lack is some of the variety you would find in other places, like a lack of any kind of egg bagel, and the only sweet bagel they have is cinnamon raisin.

But I absolutely adore this place. Even when they are super busy the wait is seldom very long, the food is of great quality, and a great price. There is a reason that Bodo's has become a local icon, and I'll be going here for decades to come.

Only place around to find true hard water bagels and my all time favorite salt bagels.

What can I say. It's. Bodo's. Awesome bagels. The lines can get pretty long but the staff is super quick. A Charlottesville staple.

I absolutely love bodo's! I would eat there all the time if I had a metabolism.

Bomblicious. Salt bagel was like a soft pretzel and my 3 kids loved it! Called and just picked up at the door. Card only I think. And 1 deli style bagel was 10x better than Mcdonald's.

Local favorite, super fresh bagels. Can get breakfast or lunch style bagels all day.

Oh bodos, how I love you. I'm not sure what's more satisfying, the perfection of your bagels and sandwiches or the efficiency of how you move that many customers through your shop so seamlessly. A Charlottesville staple Everytime we visit .

Great shop with excellent bagels. Very reasonably priced for what you get and the service was friendly and quick. I had an everything bagel with egg and it was delicious. I tried the no bull patty which is vegetarian and didn t really care for it but others do. Would definitely go if you need great tasting and fresh bagels.

Easily the best bagels in Virginia. A trip to Cville is not complete without a stop for a satisfying, soft, warm, bagel. Bodo's has perfected the boiling technique giving these the best texture. Put anything on it and enjoy. For another reason to go, the prices are extremely inexpensive. A bagel with cream cheese is only $2.26. Don't fool yourself these bagels are the real deal.

Definitely a local favorite. Spot on recipes. It can get super busy and crowded at times so be patient. It is worth it.

You can't get better bagels any where. I mean any where. Some of the staff could be more friendly. I know, they're always busy but that really isn't a reason to be rude or not friendly. I would go there more often if it had a more welcoming atmosphere.

Very very very very busy but the line always seems to move quickly and your food comes out quickly as well.

Bodos has some of the best mayonnaise I've ever put into my mouth by far. I was first introduced to Bodos at a young age, but I only got boring things like an everything with plain cream cheese. It wasn't till I hit 16 that I had my first REAL Bodo's sandwich: a BLT with mayo. Since then, I've gotten a high quality well paying internship, a super hot girlfriend, and straight A's. Do I think this was caused by eating Bodo's mayo? No. I KNOW FOR A FACT that it was because of my encounter with Bodo's mayonnaise that I am a man, not a boy.

Bagels are the best in the area. I like this place and I came here regularly. I like this place and I am happy with overall service. Great place and nice time spent here with friends.

The massive line outside is misleading. Having lived in New England and New York most of my life, my bagel experience is pretty high. So coming upon this place I thought the bagels would be amazing. Alas, they were above average. My theory is that Charlottesville doesn't have any other good bagel places, so the locals treat this place like its the best, which in context of big cities, it's not. So I guess this place is the "the best bagel in town" because it's probably the "the only bagel in town!"

Fast service and excellent bagels. We were visiting from out of town and scrapped our second day brunch spot to come back here a second time. I tried the jalapeno cream cheese and loved it. Great place...wish I had one by me!

Excellent choices of freshly made bagels & bagel sandwiches, as well as homemade cream cheeses. A little out of the way from the interstate, but we'll worth it. A little pricey, but again, well worth it.

BEST bagels in Virginia hands down. I have to stop by and have a lox and cream cheese bagel everytime I am in Charlottesville. Yummmm.

These are probably the best bagels I've had outside of NY. I would rate these as good even in NY. If you want a solid real ny style bagel give this place a try.

Bodo's is the bomb. All the bagels are kettled, which is sick and not easy to find in the south. The service is fast and easy. The bagel toppings are numerous. They also pay their workers really well and I have heard they are great to work for. You can go in and get a bagel with Turkey and sprouts and avocado etc. and walk out paying under $6. It's also open super late for a bagel place.

Yes yes yes!! We always have to stop here when we are in town. Inexpensive for all of us to eat and ALWAYS delicious! If you want really good Kettled Bagels, not only is this the best place in Virginia for them, this is the place I have found this side of New York. I go to cities like Atlanta or Raleigh and ask where I can get a good bagel and I am told Einstein Brothers. OMG. Bodos would put them out of business.

A Charlottesville staple. Tons of options to create your own fresh bagle that has never disappointed me for +25 years. Any other bagle restaurant would be double the price for what you get. The line is always fast and extremely efficient.

Very good bagels. Can get breakfast and other sandwiches made with their bagels. Several locations around town. Don't ask them to toast your bagel, they won't.

Best bagels in town without a doubt. Decent place if you want a quick bite or even a breakfast as this place opens quite early. Love their sandwich bagels!

I work here so im kinda impartial, but this is the only real bagel shop too that ive ever been too as well.

The absolute best bagel in Virginia, by far. So why only four stars? The service isn't great and the people waiting to pick-up food become a jumbled mess since there isn't a good place to wait.

Tip: try walnut raisin cream cheese on a salt bagel.
