Bob's Steak & Chop House- Grapevine Reviews

Such a disappointment. We were looking forward to an evening of great food. On the plus side, our waitress was very nice, the bottle of Burgundy wine was nice and the calamari was good. After the appetizer, it went downhill from there. The lobster bisque was watered down at best and had no flavor. The wedge salad was over dressed, we requested it with the apple wood bacon and that added a nice texture to the salad. The biggest insult was the 12oz filet we ordered, it seems they may have cooked it while the meat was still too cold, because it was tough and charred on the outside and medium rare on the inside. The outside was so tough, you couldn't enjoy the tenderness of the inside. It also had no flavor, the scalloped potatoes were more like potato chips that were left soggy with the gravy and onions. The second biggest disappointment was the $30 Bob's mac and cheese w/ lobster, jalapeno and bacon. It tasted like it came from a Kraft box.

I think it has been some years since I have been here. Went for a dinner gathering. They had an appetizer that was shared with a ton of seafood on it. Chilled shrimp with remoulade sauce was probably the thing of the night besides their wonderfully cooked and prepared 9oz filet mignon. And of course, the carrot. How could you forget the carrot? Did not get to explore the wine list as with times past. The chosen wine was a Chilean Cabernet which was actually fairlytasty. Desert was a very intense chocolate cake which was really awesome, and I'm really not a fan of chocolate. This place just isn't in my backyard, so there has to be something that takes me over into this neck of the woods. But I would definitely visit this place all too often if it was just right down the street.... Or if it wasn't for the traffic, which is absolutely atrocious around this area.

Pissed off. Just left Bob's and thought we could valet park our Mercedes SL 550 without any problems but when we got in our car our radio mysteriously did not work. Crazy we talked to the manager and he said there was nothing he could do about it. I am so infuriated that we trusted these people with our vehicle. You would think that you could go to a nice restaurant and not have your car vandalized by the parking attendant. I am so disappointed!!!!

Wonderful Wagu Tomahawk Steak!
We ate here with a party of four and had incredibly delicious meals served with impeccable care. The setting was perfect and we will be back every time we pass through the area. The staff could not have been more professional. The wine list was also first rate.

Standard steak environment. Everything is good, but what are you supposed to say about a steakhouse. Steak? Check. Mashed Potatoes? Check. It was all good.

We go here every year for Valentine's Day. The food is incredible. Very expensive, but you get what you pay for. Best steak I've ever had (back when I ate meat).

Went to Bob's to celebrate my husbands birthday. I indicate the occasion at time of making the reservation. When we were sat, our waiter Chris acknowledged the celebration. Then, the Manager stopped by and also wished him a happy Birthday. The attention to detail is impeccable! Now to the food and wine...

Chris suggested we have the Tomahawk for us to share. It was Perfectly cooked and delicious. We had smashed potatoes and the famous glazed carrot. Finished the meal with their scrumptious carrot cake and two glasses of riesling!

A perfect place, where the atmosphere is classic, the service is impeccable and the food is delicious.. Will definitely be back.

AA+ amazing food and service. I know I'm not suppose to eat a steak well done, but thats the only way I like to eat it. Anyways, well done filet was so delicious! My wife had the fried ribeye with chimichurri sauce. The food comes with a potato and a glazed carrot, so great. We topped of dinner, salads and fried calamari with chocolate brownie peanut butter sundae. Yum yum yum yum!!! Ok, I can't forget to mention the service. It was amazing as well. Utensil gets used, you're going to get a replacement! Water cup missing a few sips, you're getting a fill up. So attentive everything was so so good!!

The wait staff was excellent, but the hostess was so rude it put a real damper on our eating experience. We were there for a company party, it was cold and rainy, and she made a ridiculous ordeal out of locking people out at 4:50, IN THE RAIN, because they weren't open yet. Then when we left, the door kept getting left open, and she came out, grabbed the door, and snapped at us to leave this door shut. I understand keeping the cold air out, but rudeness is not called for.

Great grub and wait staff. Bring your wallet though.

Amazing food, great steaks always cooked perfectly to order. I've been here twice in the past year and the staff has typically been very attentive.

Bobs Steak & Chop House is a well known five star steakhouse in Dallas with this Grapevine Texas location which consistently serves perfectly cooked to order steaks, with options like rack of lamb and Australian lobster. We enjoy sitting at the bar and service is impeccable - the carrot cake, made with signature carrots also served on each plate, is a must have. Bar tenders are mixing drinks and making wine and liqueur recommendations - get reservations in advance for special occasions.

I will start with the 3 quick downsides and get them out of the way. 1- It is pretty loud, so depending on your group and your table, it can be an issue. 2- It is expensive, the value for what you get it good even though it is so expensive but it is still costly. 3- It is not the original, the Lemmon location will always have a soft spot for me.
Once you get past those hang ups, it is the same great food and service as the original. It is good and not as pretentious as the Plano location. I would say it is pretty easily the best steakhouse in the Southlake/ Grapevine area and up there with Michael Anthony's in Southlake as my two favorite high end area resaturants. I recommend the filet but truthfully everything is good.

Top drawer Steakhouse with a great atmosphere. Located in downtown Grapevine Texas I highly recommend this. They have excellent wine choices by the bottle and by the glass along with mixed drinks and great service. The service was good and the desserts or enjoyable also

I frequent high end steak houses. I typically come with my husband or just with adults as it s a fine dining experience and we don t want to ruin it for other diners. I recently brought my boys (9 and 12) and they sat us in the back and out waiter was aloof and basically non existent. No mention of specials or wine list. I had my kids because we had a death in the family. It was a great meal (filet and that amazing carrot) with lackluster service and we were clearly a low priority due to us bringing the kids . The sad part was the kids were well behaved and respectful. Will not return.

Bob's is amazing. In town for a work related tradeshow and wanted to find somewhere off-site for the last night. The food was phenomenal and the staff was incredible. Didn't have to wait long at all, granted it was a Tuesday night. The bone-in filet was great. Would definitely come back here again!

My husband took me out for a nice Birthday dinner.......although the food was excellent, I must say our waiter was not as friendly, we felt that Greg was trying to rush us out of your establishment. For the prices we paid, I feel that he could have been much more hospitable. Heidi walked by and she wasn t even our waitress, I asked her a question and she was so professional, friendly, and informative. My husband left his glasses at the table, and Jose ran out to give them to him. That was really a nice jester on his part. Although, it was a busy evening.......Greg was very proficient in his job, but his table side manner was less exceptable.

Absolutely one of the absolute finest, juiciest, tender filet mignon steaks I've ever had. Seasoned perfectly. The sides were delicious and large portions. The Lobster Bisque soup had big chunks of lobster. The bread was fresh made and warm. Will definitely visit again when we go back to Grapevine, TX.

After yet another stellar dining experience last night, we realized we've never left a review....it's about time! Literally a perfect experience ....every....single....time. What other restaurant can say that? Bob's Grapevine can. This is our special occasion/celebration go-to spot and has been for years, the food is delicious and the service impeccable. Right after Shelter in place, when the governor allowed restaurants to reopen, Bob's was our first choice, hands down! Special shout out to Abel, our favorite waiter for the last 5-6 years or so. He takes care of us like family with smooth, above-and-beyond service every time....we just adore him. Every staff member is friendly and pleasant, and you can tell they all enjoy working there....it seems like a small thing, but that mindset really contributes to the overall atmosphere. Food? Lord, what can I say? PERFECTLY cooked steaks every time, amazing lobster, heck...even the after dinner coffee is awesome. Worth every penny, and every calorie.....hands down our favorite restaurant in all of DFW. Cheers and high-fives to the staff at Bob's, everything you do is so appreciated!

Kaylee was an excellent server and made our celebration delightful. The food was fantastic and service outstanding. Management checked in a couple of time to ensure our experience was nothing short of wonderful without being overbearing. Will definitely be back again.

It is wonderful, service is great, food is great, the baseball cut filet is something you have to just ask for because it is not on the menu. It is great and very tender, I would recommend rare or medium rare. Overall great service, that is why I eat there almost every month.

This was one of the first Prime Steakhouse I've had the pleasure of eating that. Very unique experience staff is very well educated about the meat. The meat the cut of meat that they use is extraordinary very very good. Thinking about taking my wife there for anniversary

$25/shot of Lagavulin 16 is incredibly insane. This is a $6/shot MAX Scotch at cost (<100/bottle). I was not expecting to pay over 4 times this. I had ordered two glasses and was glad I did not order a third.

We were not given a drink menu upon sitting down, instead, we were given the drink/dessert menu when we were offered dessert at the end of our meal (how asinine is that?).

($58) The Porterhouse Steak was GREAT; but the sides were nothing special.

As usual, Bob's knocks it out of the park for Valentine's day 2019. Our dinner was as close as perfection gets. This is still the best steakhouse I have been to, by far. Fantastic service, food to die for, and exceptional atmosphere.

Wow! Great service, great ribeye, great lobster tail! We had 30 people here a week ago and everything was perfect!

I brought a small group from out of town and all of us were disappointed after getting our meals - the steaks were dry and overdone. I don't think I'll be back to Bob's Steak & Chop House for a while.

Jordon our waiter was our 1st reason for our 5 star review. He is prime example of professionalism, polite gentleman. He made us smile too. It was a super busy night, New Years evening & we googled steakhouse near me and Bob's Steak House had 1 table @ 730pm on Open Table app seating. We lucked out. There had to couple hundred of people in this restaurant for New Years celebrations..
We got lucky and had zero wait for our nice little table for 2. If we wanted quite well that would have to be on another night because getting a table last minute on New Year's you have to expect Loud and crazy... Bob's whole team that night ran very proficient & smooth. I thought we would have to wait a long time for our dinner.... NO WAY, it was perfect timing. Our drinks were the best we have had in a long time. Finally a bar that does not skimp out and charge more for little. We both had Hendricks drinks and 5 stars to the bartenders. Solid 5 stars for our 12 oz medium rare cooked perfectly. Taste was solid Texas steaks, the best in the US. We are from Dallas, but live in Florida and miss Texas food so badly. Texans do it right. Hats off to the chefs & well deserved 5 stars for our steak dinner. We loved the huge carrot as well. Perfectly cooked with slight butter flavor and cinnamon. Did we have room for dessert no but said YES to their in house homemade carrot cake and what a wonderful way to end a sublime meal & New Year Eve experience. Great ambiance and tall, stiff drinks, but I was really hoping for WOW when paying top dollar for steaks. The bread was absolutely delicious! Potatoes were blah.
