My father was always very picky about his doctors. He preferred to see the same doctors as long as they practiced, and was generally nervous about new doctors seeing him. I was worried he might have trust issues or fears about his new doctor when he moved into Memory Care, during the pandemic too, and I was told he would need to switch to Bluestone. I had my own worries, I didn't know what to expect from this group. My concerns disappeared quickly. He really liked his Bluestone doctor, and so did I. The entire team was very communicative and responsive with their messaging system (though their website definitely could use a visual and more user friendly revamp).
When a shady Transitional Care Unit was trying to force a move on my father without any medical justification, his Bluestone team stepped up immediately when I asked for their help in making the case that the transition was not only unnecessary but would also be a detriment to his mental well-being. I had an open line of communication with not only his doctor, but every single person involved in his care. They made referrals promptly and when he needed a service that was not provided by Bluestone, they were always agreeable in referring him to one of his previous providers (he had many specialists he needed) and setting up the appointments. The visits and all testing were frequent and they communicated very well with his Memory Care facility's head nurse, I was always kept up to date and when he needed something extra (like Physical Therapy) they were quick to recognize it and set it up. My Dad and I really felt a lot of trust with not only with his Primary Care Provider but the entire team there, from nurses to aides to PT/OT.
I wonder if some of the other reviews here were influenced by negative experiences with the specific Senior Living locations their loved ones were in, because I had nothing but positive interactions with Bluestone itself. They went above and beyond, responded to my messages same day, and were always interested in my input/concerns and keeping me up to date. I had a very negative experience with the specific place my Dad was living, and I certainly understand that emotions run high in these tough situations because we want the very best for our loved ones, but as far as Bluestone goes - I think they do an excellent job. If a Senior Living Community is not up to par - it's not Bluestone's fault. The head nurse of any Senior Living Community is a big player in your loved one's care, too, so it's possible they were the issue and not these guys. Providers rely on the nurses in the communities they work with to practice good communication. Bluestone and the head Nurse at my father's community were always in close contact, and both would reach out to me, that line of communication between everyone involved is really important.
The old saying goes "you get what you put in" - I chose to be very communicative with the team and they were equally responsive and always addressed my concerns. Honestly, they did a better job than a lot of his previous providers pre-memory care.
Spent my summer as an intern here. Great company, excellent culture. An innovative approach to geriatric care. Would definitely recommend.
My mother is at a nursing home in Burnsville that is covered by bluestone and they are the absolute worst. My mother is in extreme pain and after she was seen by them they took 2 weeks to put in a medical referral to get a test or see a specialist (not get an appointment just to get the OK to make the appointment) TWO WEEKS to put a referral in. She sat in extreme pain with minimal pain meds. The first time I asked them what took so long to fax in a piece of paper in and they said COVID. I called them twice and left messages they never called back. I hope I never have to deal with these people again.
Such an awesome company! I wish this had been available where my grandma lived.
Excellent Care Coordination provided for clients as well as staff who really care about each clients' individual needs.
The support staff, specifically Rian Smith, is unhelpful and rude.
Bluestone is a corporation more interested in selling services thean providing them. if you can get past voicemails and advertising web site, there is some value to their services, but you will have to work for it.
Rian Smith is one of the hardest working members of the support staff i have met A+ service would recommend to everyone
