I can't stop ordering the dry sea scallops on the Specialties menu. If we truly were what we ate, I would be a pan-seared scallop served with wilted spinach, wild mushrooms, white wine, and truffle butter sauce, over linguine. My boy friend would be a spicy buffalo style sea scallop.

The waiters and waitresses were so kind and amazing, the food was phenomenal, and can I just say that is the BEST calamari I've ever had. I'll definitely be coming back!

There is a good variety of seafood on the menu, as well as a highly recommended prime grade rib eye. Believe me this is even better than any Manhattan steak house.

We arrived at this spot for dinner. my friend recommended this restaurant. Well, it was a winning. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we had an excellent feeling. The meal was great. We had a great time and we shall absolutely come back again. We recommend this place to all.

Seafood dishes were excellent and sizeable, but somewhat pricey. The atmosphere is lively, even on weeknights, so don't expect to have a quiet date night here. The service was good when I went there. I would definitely recommend this place to seafood lovers in the Central NJ area.

Our first time. Dinner and soup was excellent but the cappuccino was less than desirable. They need a coffee machine that makes espressos and cappuccinos.
Small and cozy. Nice staff but the place was small and not every customer likes automatic valet. A little pricey.
Whether it is date night or family night the service and food are superb every time I come. I don't think you could ask for a more cozy visit then you will get at this place.
Afternoons are the best times b/c you'll be seated and serviced immediately. And also b/c the restaurant is small & so is the parking lot. But the food is delicious! We had lobster sliders as an appetizer. Entrees were Jumbo shrimp w/rice, scallops w/pasta & Mac and cheese for our son. They don't have a kids menu but they are quick to offer a number of dishes for kids! And it's BYOB!

Excellent fresh seafood with a skillfully prepared with carefully conceived side dishes. Modern American cuisine. Dark and soothing decor, but it gets pretty noisy after 5 PM. The wait staff is attentive and at the ready, and not phony with false effusive friendliness. No sensible person would leave this place unsatisfied.

Amazing sushi for decent price. Some may say it's more expensive than other sushi joints, however for the quality you're getting this really is the best price you will pay for. Will definitely come back to this place.
The food is good here but I do feel it is slightly over priced. Our last dining experience was not very enjoyable. Dinner service took over 2 and a half hours on a Saturday night. It is really not acceptable that a kids shrimp and french fries plate take 45 minutes to get to the table, and we asked for this to be expedited after 30 minutes. It seemed like they added some tables on the Saturday after Valentine's day to squeeze additional people in. The dining room was so loud I couldn't hear the people across my table.

Although my food was ok, everyone in the restaurant was wearing a jacket. It was very cold inside. Also they put crostini and some kind of olive tapenade salsa hybrid on the table- there were 2 small crostini and the heel of the bread in the basket; not enough to feed everyone at the table. I probably wouldn't go back.

This place was very nice it's a small place but the staff is very friendly I had the peanut butter explosion as a dessert and was actually really good for appetizer I had the ginger calamari was very good as well the octopus that we also order it as an appetizer was not really to our taste. As an entree we order pasta with seafood was also good but nothing spectacular that will you look forward to having it again

Great fresh seafood. Parking lot is in the back and always full, sometimes have valet available. Inside is a very cozy atmosphere. I enjoy going there on their quiet times to enjoy some fresh and creative menu. The oysters are fair priced and been good each time I have visited them.

We arrived tonight for a 7:30pm reservation very excited about getting some good oysters.....after all, everyone that we asked said this was the place to go! Well they were not even close....the oysters are absolutely the BEST I've ever had. I'm 53 years old and have been eating oysters since I was 3. I've eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the world so trust me on this. My only recommendation to these outstanding Chefs would be to provide more lemons and cocktail sauce at delivery. Also, I would suggest a mignonette and Tabasco as an offering. After the Oysters (Bluepoints), we had an Arugula salad with shaved red onion and sliced cherry tomatoes which was also just amazing. For our Entree's my wife ordered the Paella and I ordered the Chef's special Chilean Sea Bass. Both our meals were prepared to perfection. Portion sizes on everything we ate was and should be considered large, so be prepared to leave satisfied....content....stuffed....but in a great way! We will be back! Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and spot on!
Visited here for my 10 year anniversary - our first visit was my husband's birthday...love this local fresh seafood restaurant that is intimate and great for our special date nights since we only had a few hours for the baby sitter and I look for "quality", not chain restaurant.
It is definitely a pricey spot, however, worth it for a special occasion. Definitely will be back!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by the utmost nicest waiters and waitresse. No joke, best seafood around period!!!

Had the same problem with the gift card. I find it hard to believe the new owner bought the business not knowing there was outstanding gift cards. Bad way to treat a regular customer. You buy a business you take the good and the bad. Never go back again.
Terribly disappointing. Paella was too salty to eat. Sent back. On the broiled seafood platter the scallops were raw and the fish tasted like Mr Clean. Left it for garbage. We need more quality food restaurants in East Brunswick. Plenty of vacant space.
Since the pandemic this place has been a hit and miss for my family. The food is way overpriced for the quality of seafood. The seevers are overworked or cant handle the tables they are assigned to, even during covid-19.

From the owner: i was there and did not want to talk to you, hoping you would never return because people like you come through my restaurant once a year and it looks like we finally got our share right before the end of the year. Please do not come back. Everything else aside, we buy the absolute freshest day boat scallops in the market, scallops very few places in NJ carry. Hence, if you cannot tell the difference then you shouldnt be eating at Blue Water, thanks.

1st: Valet parking really? They need to pave the parking lot so when they bring your car to you your not stepping in a pothole filled with water.
2nd: To dark in this place. Needed to use my camera light to see the menu.
3rd: We were seated by the window n it was very cold, had to wear my coat.
4th: Ordered appetizers: Coconut shrimp n clam casino. 1st round of coconut shrimp had a black hair in one of the shrimp. The one that had the hair we took the tail off. We told the waiter n they brought us another plate of new ones. We were told that it was a coconut hair. Really?? The funny thing is that when they brought the news ones out the shrimp that we took the tail off was back on our plate again. Sure hope it wasn t the same one that had the hair. The clam casino wasn t good either. The clams we re rubbery. Couldn t even chew it.
5th: Ordered 2 Dry Sea Scallops dinners, one blacken n one grilled. When the food came out the potatoes n veggies were cold. The Scallops were not DRY SCALLOPS. They were not sweat tasting. We told the waiter that the Scallops r not dry Scallops, he told us if we wanted to talk to the chef about this, the thing is if u have a problem with your good the manager usually comes over. We were not looking to get a freebie, we just wanted to let them know our thoughts about the food. The waiter got kind of rude with us.
WILL NOT GO BACK N WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Stay away!!

I don't know what all these other reviewers ate but I have to say my food was awful. The waiter was attentive and friendly, the food came out quickly but in my opinion, it's overpriced and bland. I ordered the BLACKENED and the key word here is BLACKENED, seafood trio. When I got it, it was cooked seafood that looks like it was broiled with a sprinkling of cajun spice on top. THAT IS NOT BLACKENED! It should be seared and the outside almost burnt. I told the waiter this and I was not offered anything, like a dessert or even coffee. That is POOR relations. The vegetable that were julienned had ABSOLUTELY no flavor. Salt would have even been a plus. When your whole table says a McDonalds fish sandwich would have been a better choice, then you know it was awful.
Wonderful . I would recommend this place to my family. I had the coconut shrimp very fresh really enjoyed the tangy honey dipping sauce. The combination also was very good. I especially liked the stuffed flounder.
Classy place with amazing food! Our appetizer was fresh JUMBO coconut shrimp, and you can taste that they are not frozen. We all had fresh seafood and each plate was made with finesse and looked like art more than food. My daughters favorite place to eat, she requests it for her birthday dinner every year and this place NEVER DISSAPOINTS! Owner is a gentleman and knows how to deliver top notch food and service every time I have been here.

Great food and service. I have been to many restaurants, and this was a great experience. The variety of the menu rivals fine dining in NYC. It is BYOB! which is awesome. I was able to order different types of oysters, clams and octopus for appetizers and then had lamb chops with spinach and garlic and accompanied with two Brazilian lobster tails and everything was cooked to the exact temperature. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable even on a weekend night. Make sure to call first and its recommended to make reservations. Also has Valet parking and outdoor seating is available. Definitely returning again. Highly recommended.

We've been going to Blue Water for several years. We love this place. We had our wedding party there back in 2011 and everyone brags about the food to this day. The raw bar options and seafood is great. Also it's BYOB.
