Blue Star Taxis (Christchurch) Society Limited Review

Great fabulous service from the Wheelchair taxi team! I don't know why we didn't go with them to start with.
We started out with the most useless, horrible taxi company First Direct. My mum is sick and we regularly have medical visits. We've had no turn ups, late arrivals and I had to walk my mum home from doctors. It was too late to book with other companies. Ive booked in advance with First Direct and they were good for a short time and then back to late shows not by 5 mins but by 15 - 30 mins.

Bluestar have been fantastic, the dispatchers and the Wheelchair taxi drivers! Great and excellent service, texts to say they're far and licence plate. I've never had to call them up to see where they are and if they're coming.
I always get a piece of mind.

You should never have to worry about these things. Especially, when you'rea carer, last thing you need is not turning up and how long they're going to be.

Don't go with First Direct, the nastiest company to ever exist. They're not running a busines, they're running zoo. But then even the zoo have better organization and sytems in place.

The operator was extremely rude!
He was clearly not happy to be working night shift and he didn't even order the taxi for us.

I was sitting outside New world shopping center in halswell for 40 minutes with not as much as a courtesy call . My ice cream has melted great surprise for my kids when I have just come back from a week away at work .. Fantastic service . If you live in halswell don't use bluestar taxis ...

Booked for 5 ppl to airport for early flight through app. Booking accepted and booking number confirmed. Taxi didn t show, so called and was told they can t do 5, so had to take two cars at twice the price and separated our family dropping us at opposite ends of the airport.

Some drivers are complete sleezes just had one constantly watch me walk down Moorehouse Ave then waited for me 100metres up the road near Lincoln rd to ask me where I'm going, an if I want a ride an he won't charge me.

Booked a pick-up online to the airport. Confirmation email came through promptly. Driver was 5 mins early and I got a text about 30 seconds before he pulled up to let me know he was coming. $30 to airport from Papanui which I think is standard these days. Driver was friendly and efficient. Would use again.

Elderly family member had a terrible experience with one of the drivers that left her shaken and upset. The response when we contacted them to complain was pretty bad. You would think they would take better care of a regular customer who has trouble getting about!

Terrible service. Waited 45 minutes then they picked someone up from across the road! waited one hour total..from centre city..Great work guys..

We were tired from being up so early but still had a long 6 hour stopover Chch. To kill time, we decided to head over to Tepanyaki place nearby. We decided not to walk because, again, we were tired and unfamiliar with Chch airport area. Jumped in the taxi; driver didn t even ask where we wanted to go, just started driving out onto the main road. Had no idea where Spitfire square was and kept repeating back to us the square despite me repeating Spitfire square and the name of the restaurant, it s nearby (I had an inkling he was taking us into town) and I typed into his phone on google maps but he kept on driving. He missed it after we pointed out and we needed up going on a 5 minute ride to correct the journey. Cost $26 for what should ve been a 2 min ride at most. We walked back to the airport after our meal.

Have had good, reliable service with them. EFTPOS fee is $2.30, though this is not posted anywhere.

Very disappointed with this company's service. We flew into Christchurch and needed a ride 18km down the road via the motorway. Our driver was driving under 80k in clear conditions, no traffic. It wasn't until we asked her why she was driving so slow, she said she was following the truck in front of us, the only other vehicle on the road besides us. Hello!! we told her to go around the truck. She was using her phone while driving, looking for the address, then handed her phone over when we complained to load the address in for her. The 18km journey cost 82.60, if our Uber App was up and running, this same journey would have cost 53.00. When she dropped us off, she kept saying she wished us a nice day and every success over and over again. Did she think we were going to give her a tip after all that?? We feel very ripped off.

Been waiting for a hour and they still.not here not.good

Dishonest and abusive, threatening a woman in front of her young children. Do NOT use this company!!!! If only I could give less than one star. We were a family of five, with three young children. We arrived at the international airport at 2am, exhausted. We divided ourselves between 2 cabs after waiting 20 minutes. We knew our airport motel was a 5 minute drive away. We gave this fact and the address before getting in each cab. After 15 minutes being driven around in circles around some dodgy back roads, we got on Google Maps and started commenting on the length of the journey. Upon getting to the motel, one taxi driver started making different, contradictory excuses. He agreed he should charge us less than the meter showed but then charged more than he said he would. He let us get his I.D. to make a complaint. The other driver promised to let us get a photo of his I.D. once we paid. As soon as we paid, he became aggressive to me, the woman in the family. I felt he would assault me. My husband obviously thought so too and asked him to step back. Then both taxi drivers started threatening my husband and looked like they were about to assault him, two on one. All this in front of our children at around 2.45am. A dreadful first encounter for guests visiting New Zealand. Shame Blue Star Taxis, shame on you.

I booked a taxi a day before to get myself and 4 children to the airport. We needed to leave central Christchurch at 4 am. They sent me a text saying car was not available. It left me in a very awkward situation. They should never have confirmed the ride if they couldn t honour it. Not good enough.

Took a Blue Star Taxi from Christchurch train station on 2/5/19 to Parkview on Hagley. The driver kept trying to get us to agree to a "under the table cash ride" so I should have picked up on that red flag.
Stupidly he talked me in to letting him pick me up to take me to the international airport at 3.45am the next day. Sure enough, a no show.
After 15 minute, nothing. Thank God for Green Taxi's. They sent a taxi straight away.
I arrived late but not too late. Please DO NOT use this taxi company. They are as dodgy as hell.
