I wouldn't even rate this a 1 star! We arrived just before 4pm(last entry) and they refused to let us in because they had already closed the tills! Absolutely appauling! An over 24 mile journey to be refused when they haven't even closed yet is not good at all! Very very disappointed!

All fish etc. & tanks looked healthy & in good condition. Spent a lovely 3 hours there with my disabled son, who uses a wheelchair. It was very accessible, plenty of room to get around, lift to lower floor, even though there were a few visitors in wheelchairs & buggies, still had plenty of room. Went in school hols so there were no school parties. I got in free as a carer, bonus ( take a letter of proof). There are picnic benches, in a small outside space with play area, so save some cash & bring your own. Best bits for us were the shark & ray feeding show at a very large glass window, the walk through tunnel good for those with slight sight issues & my son being able to get close to the tanks which were low level see through so he could see while in his wheelchair. Would go again.

What a great collection of wildlife and fish. All the tanks are clean and well dressed, the fish seem happy enough in their homes. The information boards are easy to read, although some in very shadowed corners with low lighting.

Pleasant staff, some interesting fish in tanks.

Pleasant staff, some interesting fish in tanks.
It needs a bit of a revamp, it is quite dull and there are many children's rides, lots of expensive plastic tat for sale. This suggests that it's not a wholesome place that promotes conservation, but more about getting adults to part with lots of cash.

We went during storm Francis last Tuesday as a rainy day activity on our holiday to North Wales. Despite assurances that numbers would be controlled in response to Covid 19, we felt far from safe because the place was packed. Rather than controlling numbers by issuing a set number of tickets for the day, they let everyone in who wanted to attend and just slowed down the entrance rate at the door which led to huge queues in the rain and made no difference once everyone was inside.
We whipped the kids round the displays as fast as we could and left because we all felt so uncomfortable. Very poorly managed and very disappointing given the cost.

First time visiting and it was great! Much better than the deep in Hull. During Covid everyone seemed to socially distance.. those without a mask included.. the one way system was good and plenty of space in areas to pass by people and wasn't crowed after 2pm on a Sunday.. good to go for 2hrs at most.. will be back.. kids loved it.

Great first visit & really enjoyed it. Perhaps some better signage would help, eg left turn off roundabout to IN & directions inside to flow better round attraction. Maybe slightly smaller than expected. Great selection of fish, sea creatures, things to do, eg quiz. Glad we got the guide. We stayed when realised the otters & pirate play area were outside & had nearly missed them. Shark, Ray talk & feed was very good, seeing divers, handsignals explained. Travelator & shark tunnel impressive. Good coffee, didn't eat so no comment. Some more reasonably priced as well as some expensive gifts so we got several good souvenirs. Seemed a selection of toys. Thank you

Whilst the aquarium its self is great and there is so much to see it could do with some TLC in areas. The staff are unhelpful and rude and the food there is ridiculously over priced as are the rest of the refreshments come to think of it. We spent over 100 pound on disgraceful basic food that was barely edible. The bread they served had to be from last christmas, as soon as you touched it it crumbled apart it was that dry. The pizza was nearly 15 pounds and was that hard and dry it could have been used as a door matt to clean your muddy boots. The menus said gluten free options available which turned out in the end to be chips, or chips and cheese. Have been several times here and the whole experience gets worse and worse. Unfortunately will not be returning. It's way way too expensive. Admission fee, plus car parking charge plus the cost of feeding a family, its is just way too expensive now for what you get. I would avoid.

DIVING EXPERIENCE REVIEW -

DIVING EXPERIENCE REVIEW -
I can only comment on the diving experience, as I did not see the whole aquarium. My spectators did however, and said it was pretty small and underwhelming. The food was okay, but it was very expensive. Regarding the diving - The highlight for me were all the friendly staff, willing to make you feel comfortable and safe before and during. As a result, me and my buddy (we dived in pairs) learned a lot about the sharks and procedures to have an enjoyable time. I'd done scuba diving before so could tell the equipment was all up to standarda and the basic training was too. The variety of sealife you get to see is something memorising, particularly with all the sharks coming so close. It's a shame you can't "dive" as finns aren't allowed. Still it's pretty cool to walk along the bottom and see your friends and family through the huge glass. The thirty minutes goes so quickly, but I don't think it's something you'll forget! There are lots of surprises they include which enhance the experience, but I won't spoil them! I have attached pictures of myself during the dive. I must admit, the price seemed a lot but the experience was actually invaluable. I'm so glad I did it. Only giving 4 stars as the aquarium lacked. The diving definitely did not.

Unfortunately we were really disappointed with organisation of the place had to leave without seeing everything. There are signs to keep social distance and you will find hand gel however they let far to many people in at once so there is no possibility to keep safe distance. Staff not giving example or making sure visitors follow the rules or one way systemthat they put in place. Such a shame.

After reading some negative views online we arrived to find that this is actually a really lovely aquarium.

The staff were really knowledgeable and friendly and were happy to spend time explaining about the various exhibits.

One of the big criticisms online was that the aquarium was outdated, but we didn't really find this to be the case. Everything was clean and neat, and information on the various animals was accessible and interesting.

The restaurant staff were friendly but the menu was a bit lacklustre. They have a nice selection of ice creams which made up for it, though, and I got a free cup of tea because I'd paid for parking.

Parking itself doesn't appear to be monitored though, and there's no need to display a ticket, and no way to match up your payment to your registration.

So much to do here....my girl loved it. We all loved it. Good to see so many sharks, you literally can spend hours in there and still not finish because there is so much to learn about and read. We managed to fit in one of the shows as well. There are several on during the day. The price is a tad high but for that you get a top quality aquarium not far from Cheshire Oaks. Great!

The fish are great, but this place has issues. It is very difficult to navigate with a pushchair (or wheelchair) as the main tunnel through the aquarium in on two slight levels, a small step which you either keep tripping over and it's difficult to move a pushchair. With the place being quite busy, kinda ruined the atmosphere. No idea why the walkway through the tunnel can't be flat!
Next thing, they charge for the carpark once you are inside. No mention of this on the website. But, it does entitle you to a free cup of tea as long as you buy something else from the cafe.

Visited here a couple of weeks back and thought I would give you my honest review. Two of the big complaints are the car park charge and the costly entrance fee. I can't justify the car park charge but the entrance fee is no more expensive than any other tourist attraction in the UK. So now for the good news which is that the aquarium is excellent. The aquarium has a great selection of marine life including sharks fish lobsters octopus starfish and crabs. Also need to give the pelicans a mention. The tunnel that you go through to see the sharks is a 5* experience. We visited for about an hour which was plenty of time though if you have kids you will probably spend up to 2 hours there.Cafe was ok not the cheapest but no more expensive than any other tourist attraction cafe.Answer to this one is to take your own food and drink. So in a nutshell it's a nice place to visit but be prepared to pay for it.On a separate note I heard that diving with sharks experience is 5* so maybe give this a try.If you enjoyed reading my review and looking at the photos then don't forget to like them

The price to go here is ridiculous, we were done in an hour and that was with us draggin our feet. Used to be able to stroke the stingrays but they've stopped that now. Lovely place but not worth that much of an entry fee. i was appalled having to pay extra on top to park aswel. disgusting.

Parts of the aquarium felt dated and the signs needed replacing or touching up, although the aquariums were very realistic to the locations of the fish some didn't make for good displays, it just needs revamping and reenergizing imho
