One of the great jazz clubs. What more can I say? Get here early to get a good seat. Warning: you are packed in! You'll get to know your neighbor well. Thus, the importance of getting here early: in order to get an end seat. As for the music, well you already know it's the best...

The music is great, that's why one shoukd go there.A tad cramped but that's part of the charm. Not the best for people on the wheelchair but the staff try their best. The waitresses are very efficient. For us it was a memorable experience.

World class jazz accompanied by world class snobbery. Large group of us sat in the back corner table right of the stage. We ordered heavily and we're early. We had a blast enjoying a night out listening to the music and loving life. Apparently too much. You see, laughing and having fun is not ok in this establishment. We we're warned by the doorman that we need to be completely quiet or leave. While the band was phenomenal, truly! Can't stand it when a Jazz band dishes out politics. Nothing divides a crowd as much as political gibberish. There's simply never a good reason for that. Didn't pay for a news, history, or political science lesson. So stick to your art and play music. Otherwise, a great evening at a great venue

This is a favorite of mine. Been going here for more than 15 years. What people should know when they come is that this venue is tabled and when you make a reservation for a table you pay the ticket for the show as well as your dinner/drinks all on the check at the end. Additionally the table seating is close quarters and you'll be sitting with other people. I say all this because sometimes encounter people who aren't familiar with how things work. Recently I went to a show here and there were people who kept trying to put their bags and coats on all the seats instead of using coat check. It's a crowded venue and the servers need to get by, all the seats will get taken so you can't just come in here and spread yourself out. The servers are always great. The food is good here. For appetizers I like the crab cake! The shrimp is also good. Flourless chocolate cake is the best dessert here.

A very nice jazz club with amazing performances. It is very cozy however, meaning there isn't a lot of space to do anything. It was very difficult to eat when there's no space for my elbows. The food was good: not amazing but no real complaints. The drinks were why this reviews is only three stars. I have never has a bloody mary quite like that one. The drinks were unpleasant enough to make my mood go down. Once again, the music was amazing.

This cozy club hasn't changed much over the years. The tables are packed tight, the seating is squished, but the crew gets the job done with remarkable elan. Add in world class performers, you just have to experience it.

Landmark Alert !! Are you feeling Blue and looking for a soundtrack to float it? Come here at least once and you will find ways to come back. The Jazz, what can I say, is superb, and the atmosphere is like a movie set gone real.....and that's cool man, cool.

Tourist Jazz Club. Great artist and therefore well worth a visit. 1 set approx. 75min., Ticket prices high. Food not recommended. Fat, expensive, loveless. Better eat elsewhere. Seating tight. Better in larger group (4-6 persons), or be there sooner. First come, first serve.

Overall amazing experience. Outstanding performance. Recommend booking in advance. The line was huge and a lot of people did not get in. There are very few bar spots available and the view is not great. Table definitely worth it

The show was great (Dizzy G. Band) and the food was good but expensive (4), but the venue in general is quite disappointing: Crowded to the point of being unable to move, seats didn't face the stage, and the acoustics were terrible and painfully loud. The giant speakers for the people 8 feet from the stage were completely unnecessary and made the whole experience unpleasant. My family had their fingers in their ears for the whole show.

If you have never been to a jazz club in NY, then stop by to check this off your bucket list. However, keep in mind that it is a bit of tourist trap, high prices, etc, because of the name and reputation it has.

Look this is New York City doggone it! The center of the universe. If you want cheap admission and $5 cocktails and roomy seating..stay in Kansas.

For the price of admission and the acoustics and the top of the line talent it's a great venue and has been a staple on the NYC jazz scene for decades. You go for the experience!! I will admit that if you're claustrophobic you will be uncomfortable. But if you're visiting us from out of town then just bear with the elbow to elbow seating and enjoy the show. You will be satisfied to have experienced what us NY'ers experience on the subway to work every morning...an invasion of your personal space. But aside from that have a burger a few drinks and enjoy. I love the Blue Note and it's the best spot in town for jazz!

Iconic jazz venue in the Village. Master Jazz Musicians have come to perform here for decades. They still do. It's a small intimate place with huge opportunities to meet the artists after the show. You can dine before the show or not. Food and service is great. A pleasure to return time and again when your favorite comes in to town.

The jazz was spectacular. The service was excellent an not intrusive. The tables are really packed together, but I got there early and get an outside seat in front of the stage. Only ordered a salad so no comment on the food. Portions did seem good.

I went to see a Victor Wooten show at the Blue Note on 7/23/19. Admission was $45 for a table seat and $30 to sit or stand by the bar. Seating is very tight. They cram 6 people at each little table and you barely have room to move your arms. The drinks are small and expensive. Alcohol at shows is usually a ripoff but $15 for a tiny juice glass of vodka and club soda is ridiculous. The food is equally expensive. The show was good but a little too short. Possibly because it was the early show and they needed to clear everyone out before the late show. The sound was good and clear and I had a great view from my table right in front of the stage.

Came here for a jazz brunch. The service was good and overall attentive and with a smile. There's no bad seat in the house, and no matter the performance the accoustics here are marvelous. Unfortunately the food here is below average, I've had better food at mediocore diners here in the city. Beyond that, great venue

A great jazz club that features the best of the genre's artists from all over the world. This hot spot also has fantastic fare and vino with awesome cocktails to choose from... Overall, this legendary jazz bar is the place to start your weekend in big city, bright lights that sets the tone to a fabulous time in NYC.

It's the Blue Note, one of the most important jazz clubs in the world. It's expensive, the food sucks, and the service isn't great but you're not there for the food. You're there to see some of the greats up close and personal and you can definitely meet them at this venue. A must do for any serious jazz fan.

I love coming to the Blue Note to Hear the Fabulous Chris Botti and His Band. Ms. Sy Smith is an Incredibly Talented Vocalist. The club is intimate enough to hear such incredible artists play!

The blue note is a NYC classic jazz venue, featuring major acts. Located near Washington Square park, this place is usually hopping. As expected parking is challenging. I find it a bit expensive charging top prices for bottled beer This place is not run as well as other clubs. Shows do not start on time. A bit unprofessional at times. The acts make it worthwhile.

Big name acts and the worst attitude in NY. I've been to every jazz club in the city, some often, and I always groan when I come here. Service is terrible, obnoxious, lots of petty rules, over priced, packed to the rafters, etc. Etc. But some musicians only play here and you have to bear it if you want to hear them.

The place is a classic where you should go. The offer of artists is very wide and excellent. Check the www. The best place you get is arriving early. Food and drink is served. A mandatory drink plus the entrance to the show.

Took my wife for her birthday, the music was ok at best, service was average for a jazz club. The place is legendary but a $35 cover is tough when everything on the menu is as high as it is. They packed the house which means I'm the problem, not them. The place is just not for me.

The problem is not the music but the place, in fact you pay 115 dollars to be piled up at 6 on a table of 4. This establishment is filling and for this price is unacceptable. Prefer the Jazz Standard

Worth it! Ok first of all, the jazz here is outstanding! The experience is nice, with tables and service with good food (not great food) and nice drinks. The space is tight but that just makes for a cozy atmosphere. However, for me personally I wouldn t go back because it just was too fancy for me and would prefer something like Village Vanguard. However, that s not say its worth a visit for sure!

Great venue for live performances right I. The heart of the village. Small and intimate - I've seen a few performers here. Most recently I saw Roy Ayers who was dynamite man!!! Always check their site for upcoming performances. You love music, you'll love this venue. Staff is very professional, bartenders are top class!!

This Club has a very upscale vibe to it. Excellent atmosphere, especially if what your looking for is great live music, and good tasting food which is a perfect combination. The staff, absolutely professional, the Kitchen is fast. They have an excellent selection of beer, wine, and alcohol. Make sure you get there early, because the best tables are just and arms length away from the stage. The sound is phenomenal, they play the best live JAZZ, BLUES, and Singer/ Songwriter format.

You go for the music. Show up 15-20 minutes before the doors opening time. Order a drink or two to get to the five dollar minimum price (that has to be charged to you inside the club). The food isn't incredible, the seating is garbage, and the hostess is a pest. Be nice to your waiter/waitress (who are actually good) and be straight forward. I prefer Birdland over the Blue Note, but Botti says otherwise, and I love Chris Botti.

Also, it's a given to eat beforehand.

I envited my wife for her birthday at bluenote. Show was starting at 8 pm we went there by 7:30 but show didn t start until 8:25. We had expectation to stay snd enjoy show at least one hour and a half or two hours that s why we came here. Music was the only reason. Show lasted 45 minutes only. I paid 200 for two person just to enjoy 45 minute show. Another show was starting at 10:30 pm we had two wait one hour and a half. We are very disappointed i will never come back here.

Just wanted to stop in the Blue Note. 10 Minutes left in the show & they wanted to charge full $55 cover or wait 45 minutes to the next show. My wife really wanted to just check it out - made a special trip. Very rude at the front door.

Excessively expensive place, especially compared to other clubs in Greenwich Village. The programming is certe quality (hence 2 stars), but everything else is a pump money.

I absolutely advise against taking a seat at the bar, unless you want to pay $ 30 + mandatory consumption at least $ 10, because you will be entitled to a bartender and waitresses show accompanied by some jazz music. Indeed there is such a stir in this household that we can not follow anything from the concert. As for seats in the room at $ 45, it's simply excessive.

In short, except for tourists who have heard of the blue note and want to take a picture in front of the sign and who will be happy, others who love jazz will be disappointed.
