Blue Lake Casino & Hotel Review

Food was very average. Too bad when it is what is supposed to bring people in.

I love the employees..... specially my card peeps. Honest. Respectful and always have a smile.

I really enjoy playing the slots at Blue Lake Casino, cause there is a well rounded and versatile variation of slots as well as numerous card tables and Texas hold em tournaments. The staff are very courteous, helpful and friendly. There is on site restaurant where you can order, and have made right in front of you while you watch (if you choose to do so that is) lol... You can choose from a well presented easy to read down to earth menu which boasts all three meals of the day, and some deserts to boot that'll satisfy your sweettooth. Of course let's not forget about the endless free soda from the state of the art touchscreen dispenser with every flavor known to man, and quite a few I hadn't known even existed much less seen anywhere else. The on site Hotel is arguably one of my favorite places where I can get a very clean, spacious and well stocked room with all the amenities to not only make your stay a true getaway, but a well deserved pampering. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone who wants to find all the qualities of a big city fun getaway Casino&Hotel in a not so far away small town true diamond in the ruff. Whether your unable to take the time off, or simply afford to vacation in Vegas or some resort. Then Blue Lake Casino Hotel is the perfect place for a quick fun visit to slot it up, or perhaps a weekend getaway for you and your significant other to let go, let loose and put all the worries of life and work aside. What a great day. Lunch at Alice's was delicious, have the chowder it is good. Service was the best I have had in years. So accommodating, attentive and upbeat. Gaming was fun and friendly.

Rooms were comfortable. The pool was closed. Staff was friendly though they could not provide a open time for the pool. Food was sub par.

Easy to find, right off the freeway. Lots of parking and free valet. Low gas prices. Nice, comfortable rooms. Great food with 4 restaurants. Lots of slot machines and generous rewards club. Knowledgeable dealers, including the area's only poker room. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The price doesn't fit the quality. No fridge in room, no usb ports and they stopped all the extras that used to make it worth it. They used to deliver the news papers under your door, leave chocolates on the bed and just really make you feel like a welcomed guest. Despite numerous comment cards they have yet to acknowledge my complaint that hotel stays do not earn points for the players club.

I just went to the restaurant but was impressed with the service, the freshness and quality of the food they prepared. It was big hit with me. I plan on going back when I am next time in the area.

Hidden location but very busy. Great live bands. Drinks were reasonably priced. Not too many tables open and not enough $5 tables. Would've been great if there were roulette and craps tables.

We only visited the casino and bar. Did not enter the hotel. For a non smoker, the second hand smoke from the other smokers is unpleasant.

EDIT: I was informed that the sounds system was not provided by the casino and the people running the sound where not part of the casino.

I go to the casino about once a year to see a show hoping that they have finally setup a good sound system and everytime I'm disappointed. Like many venues they focus on the lows and forget that the performers have voices, thinking that all you need is bass to make an audience happy.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and secure. Although the casino is closed right now, the resturaunt is still open for outdoor dining.

Worst casino I ve been too and I ve been to more then I can remember, waited over and hour to sit at the poker table and when I finally got to play, the local players run the game, not the casino or dealer. Never seen a pot split when a guy refuses to pay after a lost hand. Had me confused all night. And the floor guy that s old and bald is racist as can be. For sure making a complaint against him to the commission. And the security guy George is even worse. No wonder there s only retired old white folks everywhere. Blackjack area was cool, the floor guy asked me for my id by saying if I had a card he could get me free rooms for the sold out night(Saturday) I didn t need the room but gave him my id anyway, only person I saw get asked for I d I had 2 friends with me that didn t get asked once who look 10 years younger then me. Over all racist casino but it s okay

Always clean and comfortable. Good location if you're fishing the Mad River. Wave Lounge has a great happy hour and giant nachos.

Free drinks. In the middle of nowhere. Water treatment behind casino/ hotel run by PG&E. Anyone ever seen the movie Errin Brokovitch? It was about a huge lawsuit against PG&E because of the chrominum levels in the water. Free soda , coffee and tea in the casino if you trust the water. Other than that the hotel was decent for the inexpensive price but didn't have a mini refrigerator. Pretty quiet at night.

Some say you win, some say the casino is a rip-off. Personally I think people win almost every time they go, but they lose that money back into the casino because they don't know how to quit while they are ahead. They try to get more and more money instead of just simply gaining more than what they came with.

Very nice. Comfy bed. Free breakfast. No fan in bathroom which was weird. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Have stayed here twice and enjoyed our stay both times.

Place empty and still slow service. Place raked of cigarette smoke. Food not great and pricy.

Don't think much of it. Had a go around with security for something I didn't do.

I can honestly say I saw the Jerry Garcia band with Melvin Seals last night and it was five stars for me

The walls are paper thin, I could hear stomping neighbors and tv din all night. The pit boss was unhelpful and unaccommodating. It smells terrible outside, like a factory. Staff walked into my room despite do not disturb sign and the front desk ignored my complaint.

Good food and some interesting games at the casino.

I've never stayed at the hotel here, but have attended numerous social events. Food is always pretty good, event room is nice and staff is friendly. They have good entertainment on occasion. Mostly local bands. Cigarette smoke is a little much for me, but it's expected at the casino.

$1 blackjack, except during prime time on weekends they increase it to $5.

Clean, nice staff, nice bar. A little spendy. But all around good.

Worst pay outs in Humboldt County!! Place is usually dead because of it.

I love Blue Lake Casino. It has three different style restaurants and all are good. Plenty of machines to choose from. I try to be a little devoted to this casino because my native roots are from the mouth of the Mad River, which this casino is next to the river. They have more players incentives in this area. I won a car here in 2015. I have won here more than any place else. Merry Christmas Blue Lake Casino!

Slices restaurant was lovely! My husband played cards for hours and lost little ($1 min bet tables ) most of the video poker was older but fun. Not much winning.

Attended an event at Blue Lake Casino. Staff were wonderful, facilities were perfect. Very well hosted event. Would definitely consider attending again.

Machines are tight. Food is excellent. I had the first real ceasar salad in years here. Very good chef. I choose to eat there not play. Its impossible to even get a bonus there.

I love this casino why it has a gas station that has slot machines inside that way you don't have to go into the casino where lots of smoke is from the people that smoke cigarettes their cigarette smoking only in the casino but inside the gas station there isn't so if you want to go to a place to play slot machines here in California and not worry about the smoke from all the cigarettes Blue Lake Casino in Blue Lake California is it good place to go plus a lot of good machines

Nice stay, very clean, friendly staff, 8$ voucher for breakfast. No iron machine in the room but you can request it. AC is old and somewhat loud !

I played games at the tables which are very cheap and got drinks which are tasty and cost effective as well
