First time being here since they stopped doing the tours. It's really what you make of it. You can still do the visitor center, the ice cream shop ($1 a scoop!), and go to the observation deck until 2pm (the website advises calling ahead), but it's self guided for the most part. They do still have very friendly people who are happy to answer any questions, as well as little photo ops all around. Definitely more of a tourist trap without the tour. Blue Bell is still an institution worth visiting, but you definitely no longer need to dedicate as much time to it.

I've lived in Texas my whole life and kept promising myself that I would visit the "Little Creamery in Brenham" but just never made it. I made it a specific travel point on my last trip to Houston - and it was worth it! Leave plenty of time, because the line was long. We waited about an hour for our tour to start. Also, don't expect to take a tour on a weekend day. I assumed that they would be open for weekend tourists, but it's Monday-Friday only. Pay for your tour in singles and you might get an extra ticket for free ice cream ;)

Even during this pandemic this was an awesome experience. The viewing deck was closed but that was understandable. The parlor was extremely clean and had staff constantly sanitizing the tables, doors, chairs etc. Very friendly staff! Country store was so adorable!Wonderful little stop and even better ice cream! A must visit!

If you love eating Blue Bell this is a must see. Visitors center is very informative with fun props to take pictures with. We did not take the tour but we visited the observation deck which was really neat to see the production of the ice cream was taking place.

Make sure to stop and eat ice cream. The ice cream taste even better here at the creamery. Not to mention it's only $1 for a scoop! YUMMY! Make sure to try the milk and cookies it's delicious.

Have yourself a Blue Bell kinda day we went on a Saturday and the observation deck was closed ( I called the day before and the girl on the phone said it would be open ). We toured the area and stopped by the ice cream parlor where my kids were in heaven! They serve MASSIVE scoops of ice cream for $1 ! You can't hey much these days for a dollar, but you can get some amazing Blue Bell ice cream.

If you're from Texas and love ice cream, and you have to love this place!

This is the ice cream at HEB tries to copy in every aspect but has never come close.

A kid, my entire family grew up with Bluebell so visiting this place was a dream come true. You can get ice cream for a dollar and try flavors that you would be able to try anywhere else.

If you happen to be traveling towards the Houston area, this is a must stop!

Definitely a place for families with kids 10 years or younger. Museum was small but interesting. The ice cream parlor was nice & clean & a large scoop of ice cream was only $1. The gift shop was nice & had cute ice cream related items plus the usual t-shirts, mugs, etc. The outdoor garden & statuary is a pleasant touch. Cannot see spending more than two hours here (and that would be stretching it). No tours offered.

About Blue Bell Creameries

Blue Bell Creameries: The Best Ice Cream in the Country for Over 100 Years

Blue Bell Creameries is a family-owned and operated ice cream company that has been making the best ice cream in the country for over 100 years. Founded in Brenham, Texas, Blue Bell has become a household name across America, known for its delicious and creamy ice cream flavors.

The company was founded by E.F. Kruse in 1907 as a small dairy farm with just 10 cows. Kruse began making butter from his cows' milk and soon expanded into making ice cream. He named his new venture after the Texas bluebell wildflower that grew on his farm.

Over the years, Blue Bell has grown to become one of the largest privately-owned ice cream companies in America. Despite its growth, Blue Bell remains committed to using only high-quality ingredients and traditional production methods to create its delicious flavors.

One of Blue Bell's most popular flavors is Homemade Vanilla, which is made with pure vanilla extract from Madagascar and Mexico. Other classic flavors include Dutch Chocolate, Cookies 'n Cream, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Strawberry.

In addition to its classic flavors, Blue Bell also offers seasonal favorites like Peppermint Bark during the holidays and Mardi Gras King Cake during Carnival season.

But it's not just about ice cream at Blue Bell - they also offer a variety of frozen snacks like Fudge Bars, Fruit Bars, and Ice Cream Sandwiches. These treats are perfect for those who want something sweet but don't want a full scoop of ice cream.

What sets Blue Bell apart from other ice cream brands is their commitment to quality ingredients and traditional production methods. They use fresh milk from local farms within 200 miles of their production facilities to ensure that their products are always fresh.

Blue Bell also takes great care in how they produce their products - they use slow-churned methods that give their ice creams an extra creamy texture while minimizing air content. This means you get more actual product per scoop than you would with other brands!

Another thing that makes Blue Bell unique is their dedication to giving back to their community through various charitable initiatives such as supporting local schools through donations or sponsoring events like charity runs or food drives.

Overall, if you're looking for high-quality ice creams or frozen snacks made with care using only top-notch ingredients then look no further than Blue Bell Creameries! With over 100 years of experience under their belt plus an unwavering commitment towards excellence both inside & outside of work hours alike - there really isn't anything quite like this iconic American brand!
