I really love what they've done with the place. My wife and I took our family here and had several scoops of ice cream. The way they show off the creamery now is fun but I remember as a kid is going through more of the factory. But I do understand that with everything they've been through they are now being more careful so people don't get sick.

Great place to visit! They've stopped doing tours, but have an observatory deck where you can watch the whole process. A guide is stationed up there to answer any and every question we had (really, we could NOT stump him). Be sure to stop at the ice cream counter to get a sample of their flavors, and don't miss the Milk & Cookies if they have it!

Best ice cream place I will ever need to go to. I went here expecting a lame tour with long boring speeches but blue bell surprised me. Instead we went on a self guided tour of the creamery where we got to see firsthand what workers were making and how everything ran. Afterwards we went to the ice cream parlor where they served 1 dollar scoops of ice cream. And to be fair you need to watch out how much you eat because it can stack up fairly quickly. In fact I probably got type 20 diabetes just from trying multiples flavors. But when all is said and done blue bell wasn't shy with letting us have their Ice cream and I wasn't disappointed. Blue bell definitely held true to their company and their Ice cream I would definitely come back here

Loved our trip here. The grandchildren loved it so much. They have an observation deck with stairs or an elevator to get up there. With low windows, so even the shorter ones can see the packing process. It was really neat to see. They had employees up there if you had any questions they were more than happy to answer them for you. They had some baseball memorabilia to see as well. My grandson really liked that too. Then we sampled the different flavors of icecream, they were delicious. Then you finally decide which one you want and you get a huge scoop in a bowl for one dollar. There is no charge to visit the creamer. We came back through New Ulm.

We were so excited to finally visit Blue Bell after living in Texas for 11 years. Coming to find out, they no longer offer tours, so we walked the visitor center, then visited the observation deck, the gift shop, parlor, and the baseball hall of fame. It was still fun, but not what I expected. The ice cream was delicious of course!

How can anyone not love Blue Bell? BB is pretty much everything that is right with Texas and the deliciousness that is made with love. The factory tour is really awesome to do if you are in town and I suggest calling ahead to make sure they are doing tours and also getting there early. Lines to get long and they will have a cut off. If you decide to not do the tour you can go onto the second level and they have an ice cream bar and you can get any ice cream in any combination for $1 per scoop. The grounds outside are very beautiful and offer several photo-op spots so don't forget to bring your camera.

Yummy giant scoops for $1 and a cool little baseball museum. Information center has a cool history of the company and a vintage antique Ford blue bell delivery truck. Also You can see a small portion of the factory floor and a nifty little gift shop. All employees were friendly and nice. Very clean restrooms and facilities.

Fun place to bring the family. There is a visitors center with the history of Blue Bell and then you can go to the Ice Cream Parlour. From the Ice Cream Parlour you can go to the observation deck and watch as the ice cream is made! Ice cream is $1 for a big scoop.

We have been coming here since I was in grade school and it only gets better each time. We came by today on a whim and were helped at the ice cream counter very promptly. Very small crowd, everyone enjoying a clean ice cream parlor and delicious inexpensive scoops.

Their country store is full of cutesy items. Nothing caught my eye but I think this stuff is popular.

This facility is not doing tours right now but that's ok. We had fun anyway!

I thought the place that you would view how they make the ice cream would be bigger and you would actually get to explore the factory more. But really it just takes you to a little hallway where you can just look at the workers package the ice cream through a window. My visit literally lasted less than an hour and I would say I was there for about 15 minutes. I drove an hour and a half just to be here for 15 minutes and it doesn t seem worth it. It is mostly crowded with parents and kids going crazy over ice cream. The floors are sticky and dirty but someone was seen vacuuming instead of mopping. Not coming back again.

They showed us the facilities, where they make the ice cream, everything was a dollar, for all the different flavors. It was all very interesting, can tour the whole place in probably 45 minutes, if you stretch it to sit down and eat some ice cream. Of course it is worth it.

Great samples. I loved watching the factory and all the machines working, I found it very relaxing. I would recommend going to read about the history of the factory if you have the time, because that building is so cool.

Beautiful site, lots of free parking but came w/ Handicapped parent's and although lots of spaces, the place was packed. Spring Break so lots of families and even more kids. The observation deck is nice, interesting, but not like the tours, again , crowded. Ice cream is $1 for a good size cup of any flavor. The gift shop is pricey, but unique items. Pretty day so ever was outside. A freebie, and a fun place to check out.

Finally got to take the kids here. They loved it and although it was crowded we got in and out with very little wait. It's not expensive and really a great place to just stop and get some good ice cream.

Get REAL TEXAS! Blue Bell is not the same ice cream it use to be. And the primary reason it's no longer a quality premium ice cream is because they have gone cheap on the taste by using disgusting and foul-tasting corn syrup in all their ice cream.
They need new creative and above all CARING management who will return this brand to its former glory.
I do not eat any product with corn syrup as it's been proven bad for people because it quickly makes you fatter than you really want to be.
So, all the wise companies are quickly replacing corn syrup withs sugar cane which is what all food products use to contain until the push for a cheaper and tasteless alternative, corn syrup, came into vogue.
And once this awful change was made taste of food quickly went south as there is a definite inferior taste associated with corn syrup.
WHY Blue Bell cannot recognize this serious flaw in their product is beyond belief? Keep it up Blue Bell and soon your reputation will be severely tarnished.
I'm yearning for the day when your new flavor will be named DEJA VU. It will be made the way Blue Bell use to make quality great-tasting ice cream, and I will definitely spoon away in deja vu happiness.
Until then I will not buy or eat any Blue Bell ice cream.
Charge more if you need to because of the pricier sugar cane and I will gladly pay the additional cost. At least you'll be charging for a truly premium product of much greater quality. And I will become a Blue Bell customer once again.

Really enjoyed the visit to Blue Bell Creameries! This was my third visit, the first being in high school - now I m 45. Before, there was a tour and things were somewhat different. I think this has improved. The best part of the tour was the last room, which was the upper level observation deck, which is now the only part that s open - but now it s free and you can stand there and watch as long as you want, and there are staff members to answer questions. They still have lots of flavors of ice cream for sale by the scoop (big scoops!) for just $1 each. And you can walk through a museum type room with neat photos of the history of the company, and watch a movie - or not. Go straight to the ice cream if you want! Also a small gift shop. Big campus, very clean, super friendly staff, and of course the best ice cream in the world. You should go! Plus, Brenham is beautiful. Worth a trip.
