I was super nervous to go here at first. I remember sitting in the lobby on the first day when I saw this charismatic looking, brunette woman come up front and I thought "please let that be our counselor!" Luckily, it was! Caryl has been wonderful to work with and I highly recommend her!

I had the worst experience. I wouldn t recommend this place for anyone looking for any kind of therapy or coping skills. My therapist was very un helpful and acted as though I shouldn t have been there and we were a burden to her. She couldn t give us any coping skills. From the second she came and got us from the waiting room it was a race to get us out of there as soon as possible she had not a single sympathetic bone in her body and she kept staring off as if she had nothing to say to us. There were slot of awkward silences. She kept the appointment at exactly 30 min and when she was done talking to us she sat up in her chair because she was slouched in it as if she was bored the 30 min we were in there turned tward her computer said to us with no eye contact you don t need to come back here I ll email you in a few weeks It was awkward to say the least I guess that s what free employee services gets you these days

Justin helped me with a situation from work that I wasn't processing very well. After a session and a few phone calls, I was back at work in a few days.
Having had such a positive experience with him, I'm here with my spouse. So that we can get the help we need.
Our experience with Blomquist Hale over many years has been outstanding. They are always responsive to the employee relationship and critical incident matters that we refer to them. Additionally, although confidentiality has always been flawless, we receive feedback from our employees who assure us that the services provided were meeting their needs. There is a very high level of satisfaction.
Worst place for mental health I have encountered. All the "therapists" I visited were sure to make it known you only have x amount of visits remaining every time you come in and are quick to want to refer you somewhere else for meds. Very clear they dont genuinely care about thier clients from day 1.

I have used Blomquist Hale for years as our workplace partner. They are most receptive in coordinating classes, responding to emergencies, and offering our employees confidential caring service. Recently, I have had the opportunity to take two of my children for their own care. The help they were given has allowed them growth and direction in this difficult teenage journey. They have both made strides and feel the confidence that will make them successful in their choices in life . The staff and counselors are amazing. They are professional and kind. I couldn't recommend them any more highly than I do.
This was supposed to be a free benefit for our hospital employees; however, what Blomquist Hale didn't tell us during our company meeting is that the 'actual free benefit is only a 15 minute phone call'.
They instead refer you to AAA for financial and legal advice where you end up paying for everything yourself. If I were able to pay for everything myself, I wouldn't be calling this company to set up an appointment for financial advice.
The representative I spoke with over the phone told me to call them back if AAA didn't work for me. Neither did they sound professional, nor caring or helpful.
Never calling this company again.
I am a new corporate training director at my company. HR recently brought to my attention that in addition to counseling services, Blomquist Hale also offers training services. I reached out to them and coordinated to have them conduct training for us. They have conducted five classes for us (Discrimination/Sexual Harassment Awareness, Drug and Alcohol Awareness for all employees and Reasonable Cause Testing, Communication, and Leading to Excellence for supervisors), all of which were outstanding. I have received much feedback from employees who attended, all of which was very positive. Some of our long-term female employees even commented that this was the best Discrimination/Harassment training they have ever received since working for our company. Our corporate leadership was very satisfied with the quality of training our employees and supervisors received. Ask for their Wellness & Work-Life Seminar catalog and utilize this service. You ll be glad to have them for a training resource, as we are.

Dr. Monk is absolutely amazing and has helped me learn to cope with my sisters death and finally move forward in my life. I was referred by a co-worker to go speak to a counselor. I was having a really hard time getting to a healthy emotional space on my own. I called and set my appointment in tears. They got me in the next day and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. Caryl listened. She actually heard me. It was exactly what I needed. She validated my feelings and once I began to feel relief we discussed some solutions and ways to build new habits that would reinforce a better emotional state. I followed her recommendations to the letter and read all the materials she gave me. I just left my second appointment with her and I really appreciate that Bloomquist Hale is out here providing a space for people like Caryl to change and save lives with this kind of mental and psychological support. In my role as VP of HR, I have worked with Blomquist Hale Employee Assistance for over 20 years and have been very pleased with the service that we receive. They are very responsive to my needs and I have had very good feedback from my employees who have utilized their counseling services. They also conduct periodic training on specific topics and seem very knowledge in mental health and everyday issues. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in contracting with an EAP provider.

0 Like. For being a U of U benefit, getting in to see someone is a joke. It's not hard to get in touch with a wonderful U of U behavioral provider but they are not covered because we are supposed to use EAP. When it comes to U of U employees needing help on personal life, work stuff, kid stuff, we need an appointment as soon as possible, not in 3 weeks. If my child was on suicide watch and needed to speak to someone what good would it really do if the appointment was scheduled for next month. We are not on short supply of LCSW or other certified counseling professionals. Why should it take so long to get an appointment when it's a required U of U benefit for behavioral health? We need help!

Blomquist Hale and Licensed Clinician Brad Hammel helped my husband and I get the right help for our teenage daughter when her social anxiety turned into depression. The counseling made all the difference and the referral to a doctor when medication was needed quite literally saved her life. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking help.

Nothing like having to call multiple times for the same thing. Then when you finally get to talk with someone for a pre-authorization to go elsewhere (not that I would trust any family member's mental health with them!) they have no personality and are often rude! I dread having to talk with them each year as a policy of Salt Lake City School District!

The receptionist or whomever I talked to inquire about services to was the most unprofessional, disrespectful person I have ever dealt with. She was so insensitive and snotty. I just can not stress how appalled I am at this experience. Our family was inquiring about counseling services and was asked to provide confidential personal reasons up front to just some random person on the phone and were openly judged and scoffed at on the phone for what we would be seen for and how often. Absolutely the worst customer service for mental health I've ever encountered.
Don't be afraid to ask for help. We really enjoy going to see Caryl Ward. She has made such a positive difference in our lives and our children's lives. We need to remove the stigma of therapy in our society. You don't have to be depressed or suicidal to benefit from talking with someone and getting help, especially as a parent. It's tough to know what advice to trust now days with all the information on the internet. Go see an expert and know you are getting sound advice.
Blomquist was my first time seeking counseling, and I'm glad I did. After years of waffling, a pandemic and a million life changes finally got me there. Brian was excellent. Even though I didn't know exactly what I wanted or needed from our sessions in the beginning, he helped me explore my emotions and habits in a new way to find tools tailored to me. After just a couple sessions, I already have so much more insight to help me deal with my anxiety going forward. He was thoughtful, funny, kind, and passionate in a way that made me excited to learn with him. I felt heard, while also having my thinking challenged in really valuable ways. I will definitely keep Blomquist Hale in my pocket should I need help again down the line. Whether you know what you need or just feel "off," I highly recommend trying their counseling. Very good place and the therapists are very helpful and straight to the point.
I would give 0 or negative stars if I could. This was by far the WORST experience I have had with regards to any Therapy/Counseling, etc. If you are interested in being treated like you are wasting a counselors time and want to be judged and have a minor asked to make adult decisions when neither the child nor therapist knows all the information come here. If you want real help or assistance stay FAR AWAY from this place. Perhaps the other counselors are better, but I wouldn't step foot back in this place. The therapist essentially took years of progress made and completely regressed the situation. This place was a part of a work benefit so if you are interested and reading reviews based on finding something for your employees and you care about them STAY AWAY. I have never met such a closed minded, snap judgement, completely annoyed that we where "bothering" her therapist in my life. Just awful and damaging to be honest.

As the Human Resources Director for the City of St. George, I have referred many of our employees to Blomquist Hale. I have also used their services and am very pleased with the results. I even received approval to see a counselor who was not originally one of their providers. In addition, I am working with our representative to provide leadership training for our supervisors and managers. I am very pleased with the responsiveness and attention that we receive. Overall, I would recommend Blomquist Hale to anyone looking for an Employee Assistance Plan provider.

This is the worst counseling experience I have ever had. Look at the other negative reviews and decide if you want to go here, because I can reaffirm that it was worse than not going in at all. The staff I encountered was very unprofessional and did not seem like she wanted to be doing her job at all. Obviously as an EAP they think they can get away with some very shoddy work.
