Our wedding was held here and it was nothing more than perfection! Amanda was great to work with! we also are wine club members and love Ellen in the tasting room! she is the best!! Also- and key, the wine is incredible. People at the wedding who are a bit snobbish about wine loved all three options we gave them! (claim house white, claim house red, and rose!)

Enjoyed spending time in the tasting their wines. The view of one of the vineyards is GREAT. You can see their wine Production area on the lower floor. The out side seating would be a nice place to enjoy a bottle and snack. The offer cheese and crackers.

I thought it was a wine tasting experience should be with an incredible view. No one was pushing me to buy anything... they didn't have too. The tastings sold the wine. I just wish they sold it here in the Carolinas. Dreaming Tree is great but Blenheim has some explosive tastes for the taste buds!

I am not a sommelier, a wine snob, or even a self-proclaimed wine-o, but I did grow-up tagging along to wine tastings across the country with my oenophile parents. In the past six years I have been to a good number of wine festivals and wine tastings, myself. Now that I m adequately credentialed: Blenheim, hands down, was one of the best wine tasting experiences I have ever had. Though I didn t catch our hosts name, the Michigan native was affable, knowledgeable, humorous, and personable. While many wine tastings are a trite regurgitation of esoteric flavors bulleted on the tasting menu, he crafted a conversational story including property history and current agriculture, all while pouring samples. The adjacent hostess was equally as gregarious, unscripted, and engaging. The people at Blenheim make the experience.

Other notable highlights of the visit include the beautiful vista from the tasting room and adjoining patio, their buy a tasting and return with your glass for a free tasting policy, and the collectible art created annually for one of their red and white wines.

First time out visiting a friend in Charlottesville, and I LOVED this place! Apparently it s owned by Dave Matthews, which is neat. The entire place, including the view, is stunning. Really fair prices. The staff was really friendly and the guy who did our tasting was very personable (and also very cute I might add!). Will most definitely be returning!

This place had horrible service. I went there with my entire family and I I had my 2 day old expired licnense. I am 27. And I was denied service over a petty mistake. Never going back there!

The parking agent turned my group of eight away at 4:02PM because they do not a accept groups of more than 7 after 4:00PM. We drove an hour to visit this winery and were very disappointed to be turned away for having one person over their group limit at two minutes after their cutoff time. They should reconsider their policies and be flexible with group sizes.

Wonderful neighbors! Great addition to a Scottsville visit. It's a scenic drive and vistas from the tasting room, with scrumptious picnic choices for sale. The wines are among the region's best.

Views were spectacular! And love that the Blenheim Green Truck was easy to spot in the vineyards, lol. Totally wanted a shirt, but they didn t have my size.

And the wine! We became wine club members on our first visit because it was such a great deal for superb wine! Both the Painted Red and White were delicious!

Loved the atmosphere - super chill and not stuffy (like some other tasting rooms in the area ). The two ladies who were there that afternoon were really nice and knowledgeable about the wines and the property.

The next time we re in the area, we ll definitely stop by again!!

Dani and I did a full tasting [5 wines] The Cab Franc and The Painted Red were our favorites. The tasting room is unique in that when you walk in there are windows to the basement barrel room and offered beautiful view out to the vineyard. There is outside seating just off the tasting room as well as more seating that is under cover for the afternoon shower we encountered on our visit. Our server confessed he is a new employee, yet was still able to offer information about the vineyard and current plantings - there is a picture along with a description of the grapes. The pictures on the Painted Red and Painted White labels were designed and drawn by owner and musician Dave Matthews.

My group and I drove 45 minutes to the winery and the parking attendant turned us away because there were 8 of us and he said they only accept groups of 7 people after 4:00. It was 4:02 and what kind of rule is that? He was so rude about it. Should we have separated into groups of 4 and pretend we don t know each other? It s very close to the Trump vineyard. No thanks, never going back.

Busy but rightly so! Cute on so many levels as it does have two levels to choose from when wine tasting. As well as fantastic majestic views! It is a must see to add on your wine tasting adventures! ~A~

The best part is I live around the corner ~ so not only do I get the view, and the 1st hand pick of the vineyards first finery, plus the staff is beyond welcoming , "next time bring a book, sit back and relax ,with a nice Blenheim Chardonnay", why not and bask in all the natural finery as the views are simply spectacular. Now if your like me, and don't need a heavy lunch ~ lovely cheeses, crackers and other fine goodies are available , with an array of fabulous wines to taste by the glass . You might even consider joining the Bleinheim Wine Club , where your entitled to all sorts of perks ,invitationals , discounts, and not to mention quarterly wine shipments , hand selected by the masters :)

Blenheim Vineyards was a beautiful stop, with stunning grounds, and absolutely fantastic architecture. The staff were very welcoming, and I love the unique quality of their wine labels, Dave Matthews himself draws the artwork for their red and white that they do seasonally. While everything in the presentation was amazing, the wines were not quite up to the level of some of the other wineries in the area. They were fun to try and taste, but they were more what you would expect to get from grocery store wine, and we're definitely not of the same quality as some of the other locally owned Vineyards. Highly recommend, and a great stop, but do not expect the wines to knock your socks off.

We make annual trip to va wineries in Oct. group has always enjoyed Blenheim wines so we included them as our late afternoon meal stop. We brought our own snacks but we re looking fwd to drinking wine there and normally, we spend quite a bit on Blenheim wines to take home. Yesterday we were nonchalantly greeted by Jimmy who continued to be uninterested in performing our tasting. Another elderly fellow whispered something to jimmy in plain sight about our party. He was rude and did not address our group. Uninterested in doing a tasting, jimmy stated that they closed at 6 and would be leaving promptly at that time. This was approx 5:15-5:20. We took heed of his info and expected to proceed thru tasting......at least twice he conferred w older fellow in plain sight and hearing distance. Finally after performing a very uninformative, uninspired and unfinished tasting, jimmy states his superiors are giving him the sign to scoot guests out. He abruptly tells us we need to leave and are unwelcome to stay outside and eat as well. Blenheim, one of our favorite and staple stops on this annual tour, has lost our business for good. Very, very rude, short with guests and uninterested staff.

Went here two years ago. I heard people talking about this place recently, and it reminded me of the worst experience I ve ever had at a winery. This place, will make you feel bad. There is an old man there who knows how to make you feel like you are not classy enough to be there. He told us to leave because our group was too big. We had seven people and there was only one couple there who wasn t in our group in the venue. It was a Friday afternoon. Five stars for maintaining a business despite treating people poorly and turning paying customers away. I don t know how you did it, but you did. Well done!

Maybe we visited on an off day but didn't get the full experience that I'm sure this place could offer. Tasted from the outside bar in late October. We got there about an our before closing so maybe they were looking to get out of there but overall we just had an average experience. Good wine though.

Do not go to this place. Very rude and unprofessional. Please save your time and go somewhere else. The manager lady is very unprofessional. They need to change her ASAP or they will lose the place over her.

We have been to this winery every October for 7years. We have always been able to bring our glasses back for a free tasting until this year. Our tasting guy Jimmy had no personality and the entire experience ruined our vibe for the day. This has always been our favorite place to go to and chill in a beautiful atmosphere until day. Totally SUCKED!!

So I called ahead two months ago! And I get there with a party of eight for my sisters bachelorette weekend and they turned us away. The lady in the pink hair was not apologetic or accommodating very unprofessional.

The first two times I went to this winery were nice; however, the third time I came with my family and had an awful experience. To start, my sister was instructed to park in the shell walk way, not an actual parking spot, and the guide made her park so close to the car next to her that she could not even open her driver door to get out. She waited until he walked away and moved her car to one of the MANY available spots in the back. The parking guide followed her and proceeded to lecture her for moving her car to a parking spot. Once we finally got inside the winery, the male server immediately refused to serve us wine. Our group was that of 8 and only six of us were old enough to do a tasting. He would not even let us order a glass of wine; only a bottle. Not to mention the male server was extremely rude, spitting out sarcastic comments to us for even asking to order. I felt like a second-class citizen being denied a place to park or a glass of wine. I definitely do not recommend this winery when there are so many others nearby that can provide a much better customer service experience.

I seriously cannot say enough good things about Blenheim. First and foremost, the wines (both red and white) are excellent, and not just for Virginia wines but for wines in general (we're from California, so that is saying a lot). The property is absolutely beautiful - from the incredible panoramic view overlooking the vineyard to the laid back atmosphere and classy but unpretentious ambiance of the tasting room (which has a glass floor of the production area below so you can watch the wines being made). The staff are all wonderful, knowledgable, enthusiastic, and generous, to a person. And the wine club prices, benefits, and events seriously can't be beat. Blenheim has become our go-to happy place in Charlottesville, especially on a beautiful day, with or without kids (who enjoy playing on the large open field adjacent to the patio). If you're looking for a winery to visit, you're going to have a hard time finding a better one than Blenheim.

Visited today for a tasting on our way to Charlottesville. We arrived to find 2 groups already into their tastings. We were directed to the end of one of the bars where their employee who was also helping all of the other patrons started us on the tasting. He slowly moved from one group to another on the tastings which amounted to an hour to taste only 5 wines. We asked the young pink haired lady if she could pour our last taste and her rude response was "why, are you on a hurry?' We had our dog with us and she had already begun to wine and bark.. don't know that we will visit them again.

Great wine, views and customer service. We did our tasting with Jimmy, he was very knowledagble about the wine and vineyard. All of the wine is spectacular but the Cabernet Franc was my personal favorite.

Worst wine tasting experience ever! We were visiting from out of state (group of 8). The outside tasting bar was not busy. Only 3 other people. As we stepped up to bar we were asked if we had reservations since we had a group of 8. We were not aware reservations were needed. The female server was kind and said she would accommodate our group since it was not busy. However, the male server did not agree and continued to say we needed reservations and rudely told us we should have inquired on their website before visiting...and sarcastically said internet service is available in Pennsylvania! This winery obviously does not care about its customers! Shame on you Blenheim, you lost additional profit from our group. We spent our $$$ at Trump winery where we were treated as top notch customers. In addition, when we asked for the manager she was "too busy" carting glasses into the tasting room and told us to send her an email. Lastly, the parking lot attendants were just as rude! Rushing us out of the parking lot, so they can park more cars. New York winery tours are the best!

I am just blown away with their Cabernet Franc. One of the best reds in this area. The setting is awesome and the space is clean. The bathrooms are very clean as well.
I tried their painted red as well and it is not as good as the Cabernet Franc however it is still a great tasting wine.
Definitely would recommend it to your wine trail list

Beautiful place. The staff needs some training on what to say to customers. Was told we had to leave the wine area sharply at 5:15 but could be on upstairs patio to finish wine by 5:25 and off property by 5:30 so the staff could drink. Yes Dave Mathews that's what we we are told. You can think it but don't say it. #thisjusthappened

Gorgeous new vineyard with pretty solid wine. The deck right outside has tables and a fantastic view. The cabin has a great feel and atmosphere inside. I only docked a star because I personally did not enjoy the wine here quite as much as some close-by competitors, but it was still very good.

This rating reflects the fact that I never got a chance to see the vineyard. Poor planning for weather conditions and the vineyard canceled my reservation. Honestly, any vineyard that charges for reservations can't be all that good if they need to make money on a cover charge.

Blenheim winery is a perfect spot to visit as you tour Virginia's wine country. A limited selection of some quite nice whites and a couple of reasonable reds. Definite stop on any wine tour. Please designate a driver or take a wine tour from a local hotel!!

Knowing we were cutting it close and that last tastings were at 5:15pm, we made it and were standing at the tasting bar at 5:16pm but got turned away. It seemed incredibly inflexible especially after we explained we would be happy to try more than one pour at once. Did not give a very friendly vibe and left disappointed having rushed all the way there..

I've been to Blenheim plenty of times in person, but I wanted to give them a particular shout out for their Doorstep Duo / online ordering during the pandemic. The team has been super prompt in their deliveries and each package is thoughtfully curated to help support local businesses. A+ Blenheim!

The atmosphere is great and quaint, & the scenery is breathtaking; however it smells almost like horse stables. But the wine is delicious even though you only get 5 included in the tasting. They do give you a glass to take home as a souvenir.

A letter emailed to management without response:

Messaging regarding our unpleasant experience at your winery today, Saturday, 16 November 2019. There were three ladies in our party. We purchased tastings, bought a bottle of wine, and picked up a clothing from the tasting room. Had an excellent service from the tent and the servers at the tasting room.

However, prior to leaving, we were treated so rudely by an older man at the merchandise counter. We wanted our tasting wine glasses wrapped and we also asked to get another bigger bag to consolidate some items. First thing he asked of us was if we ve already paid for those referring to the tasting wine glasses. We thought we had to have paid for it because you DO pay for it after it was served at the bar. Didn t really think much of it. But when he refused us some paper bags.. I immediately thought that that was not right. I explained to the man that we were all traveling home separately and needed separate bags for our items. He said that we were just wasteful. I do not think that your employee whoever they may be, should speak to your patrons like that. He had already made us look bad by asking if we ve already paid for our tastings even though he didn t ask the couple in front of us, and to be refused bags for our items was clearly discriminatory to us. I rarely use ethnicity or race when it comes to unpleasant service, but he truly made it look like we were treated differently because we were of a different ethnicity. Truly disappointing and an unpleasant end to what would ve been a wonderful visit.

We thought you should know.

Beautiful piece of property and great wine to boot. Very dog friendly, they have plenty of outdoor seating and a pump to fill up a dog bowl with water. Staff were fantastic and let us do a flight even though it was a weekday. Definitely check it out!
