After being told the beer I asked for was tapped , I shrugged it off thinking meh it happens, but then the second beer requested was also tapped . . . Not an amazin selection of beers so I finally settled for one then my husband and I ordered food for them just to come out with something we did not order. The bartender almost seemed offended we wouldn't just eat the food we didn't order and we asked for our bill and left . Bad vibes horrible service . Also while we were waiting someone came up with their new mimosa glass saying it had lipstick stain on it and it wasn't his .. eww

Went for brunch but but sat there for 20 minutes without a server acknowledging us. I should ve read the reviews before going because apparently it happened to multiple people before too. Will not be returning again.

Beer selection is good and food is decent. However, it is sort of a generic place on Mill. Great if you want to get a quick lunch with friends.

Cold food, terribly slow service! They brought us the wrong items for dinner, beer glasses had lipstick stains. Probably the most disappointing dining experience I've had. First time ever writing a review just to hopefully warn someone that you should try a different place close by.

It's 2:00 and we're sitting here in Blasted Barley. We have a water and two sodas. We arrived at 12:53 for a work lunch and we still don't have our food. We ordered burgers and fries. 3 burgers, 3 fries. Terrible service, terrible

I usually go around 4-6pm and happy hour is usually on then. They have a lot of good beers to try and they're really cheap. I haven't been when it's very busy. Usually a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The staff has always been friendly except once, but that happens. Overall it's a great place. I've been a few times at night and I don't like it at all. Seems to be more of the hippy scene which isn't for me but if you like that, it's probably good.

Rob is a rockstar bar keep. Great atmosphere, bloodies, and beer selection.

Sat the bar and no one came up to get our order. Then went outside and sat at a table and it took 10 minutes for someone to bring up menus and another 10 for them to take our order. We waited 15 minutes to get our drinks and after they still hadn t come we left. Worst service I ve ever had. There were servers everywhere and it wasn t very busy. Table behind us had the same issue and went inside just to get a server to come to their table. Never going back

Worst. Service. Ever. We had to ask multiple times to even get a waiter at our table, we ended up ordering our drinks from the bar because it took so long for anyone to even come by. After like 45 minutes we finallyplaced a food order, and it never came and never came and never came. Finally we just got up and walked out. I ve NEVER just gotten up and left a place because of such poor service before. Idk how they ll ever stay open. Come at your own risk.

Food & drinks were good but the service sucked! It took along time to get our food & drinks! Hopefully its better when I go back!

Went in to have some craft beer only to find ownership changed and they weren't brewing. Food was good.

Great service and a nice atmosphere. The food was just okay. Great sounding menu items but just not as good as I was expecting. I got the smoked pulled pork loco moco and it was a little bland.
Way nicer than Zip's but not as good as Four Peaks.

My friend is visiting from Canada, we stopped by to have some lunch around 12 o clock on a Friday. There was 5 other tables in the whole restaurant. Our server got out drink order and didnt come back for about 10 minutes. When he did come back he didn t bring our drinks he only took our food order. After 29 minutes of sitting there I went to the bar and picked the drinks up. We ended up leaving an hour into our lunch with no food. As former servers/bartenders we can say the service was absolutely TERRIBLE.

Website talks about their own brews + collaborations. Get there, find parking on Mill (no small feat) only to be told "oh, we aren't brewing and the website hasn't been updated". Um, that's annoying. We walked out. Two stars b/c in all fairness the patio was nice, the menu looked good and our server was good.

This place looks abandoned. Is it even still open? Came here during regular hours (per this posting) and I was met with a boarded up door, falling down decor, and stools on tables. Either closed permanently or hours are wrong for Saturday.

Relaxed vibe at Happy Hour thursday....nice mix of young and older folks....good band playing outside off the patio

I usually don't write bad reviews, thinking if you don't have anything good to say say nothing at all.
We had very unattentive, slow and unreponsive service at this place. Beers take about 20 min to get to table once ordered. We got our food and waitress never came back to check on our table. Went in twice to ask for refills on coke and beers, no reponse. Finally went in to speak to manager, who offered to comp the next round. But the waitress was too busy watching TV to get us anything. Can't recommend. Won't be back.

Good beer selection. Had the green Chile philly, pretty tasty.

This place is a great stop for food and beer. They serve many beers, not just their own brews. You can't go wrong. They'll have something you'll enjoy. The food is super solid. We like coming here for brunch. They have mimosas specials that seem to be popular (we are beer drinkers).

It took 20 minutes for the Waitress to see us, then it took 40 minutes for our drinks, and then 1 hour for our food. Then when we got our salad they forgot the dressing, and tried to charge us extra for it.

Terrible service, food cold and tasted old too. Cockroaches everywhere- we would never go back there!!

Not the best food or service. Did have decent prices but you get what you paid for. There a lot of other places in downtown Tempe worth going to over it.

I have been here twice. The first time, my friends and I spotted a rat running around. I would not have gone again, but I forgot what the place was called and ended up there for trivia. Something was going on with their kegs and they couldn't serve us beer for about 20 mins. When they finally did, it was flat. I mentioned it to the server and she took them off our bills and offered to get us canned/bottled. Which was nice. I also ordered food (I know I shouldn't have because of the rat) there was a long dark hair in the food, which couldn't have been mine or anyone's I was with. I didn't complain to the server at the time because she was nice and I felt like we had complained enough. We won 2nd place for trivia and would have been given a gift card for the next time, but all decided we would never go again so left without it. Terrible. I don't know how they have more than 2 stars.

Good place to keep off the main grind of Mill Ave. Lively regulars and the occasional decent DJ always helps on the weekends. I do have to say that their tacos are awesome, I prefer them to most in the area. Not a lot of deals, hence the 4 stars, but their staff is generally awesome until it gets slammed, then its free game to try to get service.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Cinco DE Mayo did not have the specials they advertised on FB. Specifically no fried ice cream! The rest of our food and beer was just OK.

This place has a fun, awesome atmosphere. The music is always blasting, but not so loud that you cannot hold a conversation.

The food is amazing and I love their Brunch!

Not really busy on a Friday night so we got drinks at the bar with little wait. The drinks are good and prices are good. They have specials so some drinks are even cheaper. They have a lot of outdoor seating and outdoor games like cornhole. Would be great for any size group or to sit at the bar as a solo. Music ok too.

Not a very good experience on 12/30/16. Reserved table and traveled to Tempe specifically to watch UFC event as advertised by Blasted Barley. What they don't advertise is that they do not turn the sound up for the whole event...sound on only for last two fights and turned off within 10 seconds of the end of Rousey fight. Treated very unprofessionally by manager when we requested post fight interviews be turned on. Food average, drinks good. Gave a 2 star based on the awesome server that took care of us. So...if you want average food and a good drink, this is you place...but don't be lured in by a special event, you are sure to be disappointed...

$3 craft beers during happy hour, inspired eats, live music, attentive staff, and a fun atmosphere. Can't wait to come back and enjoy the first batch from their brewhouse.

Was here for about 15 minutes for a free shot. Music and crowd was a bit young for my taste.

Good happy hour. If they change they staff they had today I'd go back. Was not busy just the bartenders had they favorites and acknowledged no one that dnt approached them for a drink or they knew personally. Proud to walk out not paying for my drink and leaving $0 tip.

I thought we were being prank ed because it was April fools Day but apparently NOT, mind you its a Wed evening not too busy:
*There was 8 of us who ordered and 2 of us never received our orders (turkey legs) even after the mgr assured we would, we were told there was a mix up in the back, we rcvd wings while waiting (which took agile to come out) we had to constantly ask where the orders were, their responses were calmly the same, (as if there was no rush) all of us at the table were in TOTAL amazement, ( again we thought this was a joke but at this point no one was laughing, long story short, mgr offered gift cards - we don't live here, none of us were excited but the possibility of coming back or referrals, end result no charge for the two orders since we never received them , a free desert 10% off the entire order, Overall---' very, very, DISAPPOINTED! !!!!!!!

Reserved bottle service here for NYE and was very excited because it seemed very well priced compared to the other bars around.

There was so miscommunication between the rep and I but everything was resolved by the GM and their director of social media. I appreciate all the help and good time

Mimosas were bottomless at $15 a person. Their food was amazing and the employees were super friendly.

Slow, ineffective service is an understatement. Waited 20 minutes, AT the bar, to get my order taken and a channel change to a live sport that was 20 minutes over. I finally just left and they didn't seem to care. Had family at another table that started before me and still waited several minutes more to order after I left. Worst part is that they seemed to have plenty of staff just walking and standing around. Weird. All the college kids had beers though. I guess if your older and hungry they don't want your money. They won't get it either. Thanks for the free Dr Pepper, I guess.

Pretty good beer selection, especially on tap, the bartender was nice and made sure our party was satisfied. Can't speak on the food but nice environment, big TVs, and a decent amount of seating.

I placed a ToGo order thru a third party site at 8:35p on Sunday night; Nothing fancy just a burger and some popcorn. It was my first time ordering from Blasted Barley Beer Co., and at about 08:54p I got a call telling me their tablet wasn't working and they didn't receive my order. I live two blocks away, so I asked if I could pick it up at the restaurant, and was told "NO" their kitchen closes at 9:00p.

The overall quality, in my opinion, is lazy; Lazy for closing the kitchen early, Lazy for shutting off the tablet first or using that as a lame excuse, whichever, and denying a sale when I requested to pick the food up. A suggestion, work on your work ethic and hire a better manager.

Worst restaurant I have been to in a long time. Service was very slow. They were out of most of the items we ordered. We wanted the garlic fries, they came back and said that they didn't have them, would it be okay if we got tator tots instead, we said fine, they ended up giving us onion rings. Never asked, just delivered onion rings. Two of us ordered cauliflower mac-n-cheese with chicken added in, ended up being $14, it was about the size you would expect of a side dish with about 3 pieces of chicken in it with very little flavor. One hamburger came out with our the rest of the table, the other hamburger came out when we were all done eating. Did not make any sense at all. I asked for a lemonade and it tasted like a watered down crystal light. And again, did I mention the service was horrible. With all the amazing restaurants in Tempe and around the valley, Blasted Barley better step it up it they wish to stay in business!

The staff here must still be in college. Terribly unprofessional at the bar focused more on themselves and attractive customers. Brunch was a nightmare with the wait staff claiming the crowds were larger than ever. I can't believe they aren't prepared for a weekend brunch in mid November.

Blasted Barley came through last minute to help me pull off a work party that everyone loved!

I arranged to have our Holiday work party at BB. I contacted them with just a week to plan it and they pulled it off without a problem. They sent over a catering menu with some very unique options. They even had vegetarian a and gluten free choices.

They reserved the back patio for us and for the 40 people we had, it was plenty of room. We even had our own bar with two bartenders.

The food came out as our guest arrived and was hot and fresh (unlike most soggy buffet style food). All the food was good but the quinoa clopped salad and the caprese press were outstanding! I was a little worried that we didn't have enough food but then they brought a second round of fresh trays. That was great because the second round wasn't sitting around getting cold.

I will be setting it up with them again next year (or sooner)!

Great spot for a beer, lots of selection. Great staff as well.

Warning: This is now a New England Patriots bar on Sundays. All the trash from our most unfortunate region collects here. If you thought you were safe from bad fans because you're in Arizona, you are wrong.

I have been following them on Instagram and the food pictures looked great, so I brought in a party of six for dinner on a Friday night. There were maybe five people in the entire place (not a good sign, although school was out). We sat at a table for 15 minutes and no one ever came by to wait on us, so we walked out. No idea how these folks make money.

You can see from my reviews, I almost never leave a bad review; however this place was exceptionally bad.

Meh. Both my first wine glass and second were dirty. Yuckkk. With something that looked like salt swirling at the bottom?? Burrito and burger were ok, but not alot of seasonings. The waitress was very attentive but you could tell she was stressed and overworked. I gave her a good tip! No bueno!

Worst service ever, we arrive, they seat us and then HELL!! We have to wave to a server after waiting for 10 minutes she said the she is going to look for our waiter and then she comes back and said that she was our waiter!! We order our drinks and wait, and wait, and then some other waiter pass us with our drinks, we have to literally scream at her to come back and give us the drinks and then when the food arrive we have to call the hostess to bring us the silver ware, at the end we have to ask to another waiter to bring us the check and again wait until someone take the credit cards. I have to said that the food was amazing! !!

ROACHES EVERYWHERE!! Went to grab some drinks and food with a buddy after work. Noticed one small bug on the bench, no big deal. Figured it was because they had their doors open (why? I have no clue because it was a 110degree day, so freaking hot inside!!). Then my buddy noticed a bunch more coming out from between the bench cushions. Had 5 bites of my sandwich at that point, I couldn't eat anymore. Then we noticed them on the walls, on the back of the bench seat, everywhere! SO GROSS!! We told the server, she was just as grossed out, told the manager immediately. He initially told her he would comp half of our meal. Yeah, not happening, walked up to the manager and showed him all the bugs and he then comped our entire bill. He said it was because they had recently sprayed outside, so all the roaches came inside. That's not the way that works. If you keep it clean in house, you won't have a roach problem. Still have the chills thinking about it. SO GROSS!!

Staff, food, drinks, and the vibes are top notch. Recommend this spot for any occasion, especially for the brunch and bottomless mimosas.

This place is GREAT. They have a very good beer selection, including some old time favorites. The food is also very very good, try the garlic fries! Totally worth it. Happy hour is 3-7.

Cockroaches INSIDE the restaurant on booth, manager was told and he offered to take 25% off of our meal as "hush money" - that's a direct quote. Shady stuff going on at this place.

Been there during the day and night. During the day, it's friendly and fun. At night, the staff are rude and act like you're bothering them. Avoid this place after nightfall.

Friday at 515 and they are out of most of their beers. Fine, I'll take a Dos Equis. Cold glass and warm beer! GF orders tap wine and it takes 20 min for the "we're out of that too" excuse. Take some pride and get someone in charge.

BBC is a little tucked in from Mill which gives you the peace and quiet from the student crowd while still having it at your doorstep (if you so crave it). Their HH deals are pretty good for the drinks but the appetizers could use a little more work. I found their grilled cauliflower app to be a little boring (cauliflower was not cooked enough, lettuce was super oily and everything just needed more seasoning). Their chop salad tasted just like every chop salad in town (luckily they're all equally tasty). My friend enjoyed his mac and cheese and the beer selection is good. I do love that they are dog friendly and that the patio is equipped with both sun shades and heaters.

Waited over 15 min to see a waiter. Then waited another 45 minutes to not even get our drink order, let alone the food. Walked out as waiter seemed surprised we hadn't received our drinks?

Very disappointing. They have a fairly sizeable beer selection, but many of the beers on the menu are kind of samey. Three interchangeable pale ales. Several variations on chocolate stout, and so on. The beers I had there were ok, but nothing special. The food, on the other hand, was terrible. The green chile cheeseburger had not a hint of spice to it, and the tater tot side was greasy. With all the restaurants in this area, you can surely do better.

We visited this place on a Saturday afternoon. There were only two other tables occupied in the place--still our service was terrible. The first three beers we ordered from the menu were "not currently available". When the beer my wife ordered finally was delivered to the table it was 90% foam and 10% beer. The most unbelievable thing I have ever seen--I wish I had taken a picture. This place is a waste of valuable Mill real estate.

Horrible staff and slow service. The game time staff are pathetic at best. Spoke with manager and realized he would rather make excuses and not admit his staff sucks. Server walked past me 3 times and when I asked him to help he sighed then acted like he was already doing something.

Legit the worst service at a restaurant ever. Nobody was there to seat people. Host didn't bring us menus. Servers were rude and couldn't explain why it took over an hour to not bring out our order from the bar, never mind our food. Don't go.

Offered water as I sat at the bar on a Friday afternoon. Darker clubier atmosphere with louder pop music and female barkeeps with tight tank tops. Lots of beer taps and big bins full of fizzy yellow beer. 5 house made beers on tap when I visited (and fresh beers on deck in back evidenced by condensation on the fermenters). House beer pretty good. Outdoor patio.

Nice indoor/outdoor venue. LOTS of beers on tap. Limited but delish food menu, a step above a typical brew pub. Very attentive and friendly service.

Good food but the service is consistently poor. Ive been here about 6 times. The service was ok maybe one time. Ive sat down at the bar before and ended up just leaving after not being helped.

Kool set up. I came for the "Free Form" event on Friday night. Wasn't sure what to expect, but wasnt surprised either(we are having abnormally cold nights here in the Valley) so I think this put a crimp on some people but the most adventurous, or curious of people to the Brewery. Bartenders took care of me, so I did the same. Door host,Security was attentive (Side note, Venue is near what's considered "College row" & also has mild homeless issue in the area,take note.) As a patron, I didnt feel creeped out etc. By these issues because they were doing their job well I felt.
I'll consider coming again.

The blasted barley is my favorite place in all of Phoenix! They have amazingly delicious food for reasonable prices. They also have some of the coolest most down to earth people working for them and the service is always phenomenal. They also have an amazing beer selection, they have great music on all the time, great specials, and a prefect chill fun vibe. Did I mention they have their own brewery and sell growlers or that they have great live music and two patios with games? Best dining drinking experience I've ever had! The breakfast shots are on point. 5 stars isn't enough.
