Black Hotel **** Review

A reasonably quiet hotel with a pool, a bit old and a good starting point for a city trip, at least for us. Here it is advantageous to have and use a rental car, even if it is possible to take the hotel shuttle to the train station. That s a bit cumbersome. Lots of travel companies and events that chill out longer on nice evenings and cause noise there If you know what you want, not a bad hotel. Breakfast simple but ok. The food in the restaurant is actually very good and also had a "Michelin star".

The receptionist's treatment was terrible and they did not clean the room or give clean towels nor a day of the 4 that I was, despite being all day doing activities in the city that allowed them to enter to perform their work. Also, combinations with public transport are not good. I advise those who stay here to have their own vehicle.

The door of restaurant rest room is too heavy and will closed automatically. It will clip your fingers occasionally when you enter or out the rest room. The coffee made by machine is very light.

Heating without half measures, so either too hot or cold, ideal for sauna lovers, bathrooms and rooms without scented clean, we were not informed that we would stay in an attic, without the possibility of opening a window. Prices too high. I do not recommend it .

The only thing that I rescued from the place is breakfast and the young employee of the place (he is the only one I saw smile)
-the bathroom was dirty and flushed the water the 3 days of stay, we asked to fix it they did not
- The frigobar did not even have the cable that feeds it for the light "it did not work" and they did not do anything.
-the shower did not work either, it was not sustained, it was too much

BAD PLACE

We stayed in the Black hotel for 3 nights from 19th April 2015, and will never go there again the male receptionist was the rudest person we ever encountered, the room assigned to us was so hot it was like being in an oven, when we inquired about the air conditioners we were told that they don't get turned on until May and we were just told to put up with it, there were no English speaking TV stations, nor any internet service. The bathroom was filthy and had mould/ mildew every where it was also very dangerous. Our room was booked by our travel agent (I wonder how much kick back they get out of it) so a refund was not an option, we went across the road and that hotel offered English TV stations as well as air conditioning. We will never pre- book again and let everyone know what a poor hotel the Black is.

Very bad hotel. I made a reservation and they charged me more on arrival. Far from the center. Poorly maintained rooms.

One morning the bathroom shut off. we went away and on the return we found it the same. I told her to fix the problem and they said it was late that you wanted there were bathrooms downstairs. I was disappointed because they are not ready to solve customer problems. Imagine the situation. Luckily the morning had to go away.

In general, I was not happy with the stay there, the nets did not work in the rooms and were very weak every time I asked those who sat at the reception about why the nets didn't work, they tried to avoid asking them to tell them to restart the router new, but without improvements. In addition, the room service used to come when they wanted and the room used to look awful, plus a man can expect some kind of head of the low ceilings in the rooms. In addition, I had to pay a tax fee when I was delivering the key something that I was not at all aware of and did not get any information about when I entered the hotel, about 2000kr and which I thought seemed very annoying. One of the lights in the bathroom didn't work. Something needs to be addressed here.

The hotel is extremely poorly located and even though the website claims that they have a shuttle service that will ferry you from the bus stop to the hotel, the service is available only for select hours in the morning. Also, to use the service, you have to book in advance. So if you are a tourist, getting to and from from this hotel is a nightmare, unless you have your own arrangement for transport or want to spend loads of money on cabs

The service ranges from bearable to terrible. They have a blond lady at the reception who has the worst attitude I have ever seen. It seems like she hates her job and every guest that comes to the hotel.

We were so disgusted with our experience that despite paying for 2 night in advance we checked out after our 1st night here, without getting a refund for the 2nd night and paying additional money to check in at another hotel

My recommendation would be to avoid this hotel at any cost

Hotel nice, modern decor. Rooms neat and cleaned every day. Comfortable beds. Minus for the lack of an active pool which was the main reason for choosing this hotel. Breakfasts are not varied. Drinks served in the hotel bar tasteless. When cleaning the neighboring rooms very loud behavior of the cleaning lady. The whole stay has a problem with the air conditioning control. Shower very painful not adjustable. Despite the protective glass, the splash soaked the entire bathroom around. Near a stop and a grocery store and McDonald's.

Ended up coming here with my daughter advised by the travel agent.

excellent hotel, well connected with ample parking in a quiet area near the famous Aurelian villas, warm environments, very original in tones and interesting details, especially see the access door, recently renovated and cared for by the new management of Mr. Giovanni Curatella, person in to say the least exquisite.

It has very good things and some very bad ones. If I go back to Rome I would not go back.

Hotel check-in wasn;t cooperative, kept us waiting with luggage even though rooms were available. There's no way it is an 4 start hotel. The only good experience was on bar. Too far if you are considering public transport.

Difficult to locate on foot with no local amenities other than shoe shop and limited supermarket.
Not near tourist area and if you pay for shuttle bus to Rome, be aware they may forget to collect you in the evening, as was out experience. Trying to be a chic hotel but actually succeding with just being tacky. Requested room with good view well in advance, outcome, overlooking the bins. Reception initially one guy who was very helpful, but on checking out met with the most ignorant and arrogant front of house I've ever encounterred. Buffet food poor for Italy, but given out of the way location your a bit of a hostage. Overall beyond disappointing. Never again !

Hotel very far from the city center, lost in the middle of nowhere. Badly served by public transport takes about 1h30 to 2h from the Colosseum, and which is equivalent to a 2-star hotel in France (1st class type).

Quiet, very clean, good hanbiente, park cars, swimming pool, friendly staff, good price.

Even though the "noir" aspect can cause some anxiety, the rooms are clean and welcoming. The excellent and varied breakfast and the absolutely courteous staff.

The rooms are large and cozy, with comfortable beds and a large TV, the pool is a bit small but it is really well maintained and always clean, the food is great and the staff very helpful. Recommended for those who must come by car, because with the means it is not very comfortable to reach.

Hotel far from the center of Rome without car or scooter, allow 1 hour transport. The bus stop is located in an old shopping area where we advise you to stay the night.
The hotel itself has a simple decoration. Our standard room was comfortable. On the other hand, the air conditioning could only be adjusted at the reception by the staff and not by us. As for the towels, one was already dirty.
For catering, we tested the buffet in the evening, 15 per person, it's affordable after you don't expect great cuisine, everything is simple. It's the same for breakfast, a little choice but only industrial products and only the basic.
The pool was nice but times to be reviewed.
Finally, what disappointed us most was the staff. Following the passage of the housekeepers in the room, they had left us no towels, except 2 "tea towels" Already dirty .. We then went down to the reception to ask and without looking at us to answer us we were told that 'they would take care of it in the evening. We had to go back the next morning to ask for more as nothing had been done. We came across the same gentleman who told us the same thing. 1 hour later, still nothing, we had to go directly ask the cleaning ladies to give us some.
In the end, we should have booked another hotel and we advise you to do the same if you don't want to pay a 4 * which is only worth 2 ...

The hotel looks really nice, and has a decent interior. However, some things that should be better are the AC (its set to a certain temperature and can't heat the room properly) and the wifi connection, when you even manage to connect, is usually not working or terribly slow.

The nearest bus stop is a 5 minute walk away.

Unfortunately, the visual appearance of the hotel promises too much.

We booked a 3-bed room and were accommodated under the roof with a corresponding pitched roof. The beds were comfortable, the room clean and modern. However, we lacked an adequate wardrobe, German TV / radio programs. In a hotel of this category, we expect drinking / toothbrush glasses made of glass instead of PVC cups.
Anyone expecting warm eggs, muesli, a selection of sausages and cheese for breakfast will also be disappointed.
The morning free bus transfer to the next metro station was positive. Reservation is required.

particular structure. cozy, stylishly renovated recently. Extremely friendly staff. Very close to the city center (about 10/15 minutes by car). There is also a swimming pool and sauna but I cannot give a judgment not having used it. It is in a quiet area not inhabited. On leaving the hotel it is necessary to have a means of finding something.

Hated it staff and food nasty. Did buy food from supermarket. Rooms damp plaster falling off. Loo plumbing not working properly. Could not wait to get home.

Very disappointed, room was like a monastic cell and was in the dining room with a screen to seperate the two, noisy. Breakfast was pretty good, staff tried hard. Worst of all its miles from anywhere, do your homework we didn't. Its a 10 euro taxi ride to the metro. They do run a limited shuttle. Wouldn't go again. More annoying is you will pay 4* visitor tax for a 2* hotel.

The room was very noisy next to the elevator, I couldn't rest well all night, and the pillows were dirty (already yellowed and bloody), really a really bad experience.

You arrive in the room and the bathroom light didn't work and then it worked ... try if the phono works and it's broken ... you call and from the assistance it was 40 minutes to get another one. You can't sleep early in the morning because the cleaning trolley is noisy as early as 07:00 in the morning. The other room where my mom was was the mini fridge that made a whistle that bothered you. In his room there was a blanket while we didn't. Shower towels are too small for adults. The breakfast is also great some things the boiled egg this morning was not well cooked glu there were another 3 minutes left to finish cooking. The breakfast is plentiful there is vegan Italian American style

Clean and comfortable. Incredibly helpful staff. Good quality food. Parking looked as if it could be tight, but arrived at a reasonable hour. Value for money was perfect.

My three stars are for the small pool but still it's nice and not crowded; for the kitchen, in fact the food is valid for the rooms, especially those on the lower floors very spacious .. the only flaw is the gardens with a table and chairs at all clean (in the ashtray of the outside table there was still a cigarette butt probably of who first stayed). Another nice point is the sauna and the gym even if they are relegated to a basement and you have to go through a rather left and noisy antechamber since on the right there are the garages and on the left the boiler room ... in addition there are no employees to explain you how to use the sauna and the tools or that are otherwise available for whatever else needs ... get ready ... NO ICE CREAM

Hotel especially pleasing treated in detail black, some of the highly qualified staff and good breakfast available, I found myself here for a course and I must say that the conference rooms are spacious and equipped, I will.

The frame is nice design ok but:
-the reception staff is extreme and unpleasant, unfriendly limit
-The sound insulation is very bad.
- the cleaning of the rooms is overdone, (our sheets have not been changed in three nights) (the bathroom cannot be washed, I am very brown and I am losing my hair a lot, so it wasn t difficult to check)
- we try to make us pay again for our conso already paid at the bar at the end of the stay.

Moreover this establishment is quite far from the center of Rome.

In short, this establishment is to be avoided. It is closer to 2 stars than to 4.

Very out of the way, one km from the Gra is practically outside Rome. In compensation, it is very stylish and the interiors are chic / lugubrious

The location of the hotel is a little bad because it is very far from the city the very good service but the bad food. Rooms good but smells weird and they are quite big.

Our room had a ceiling so low that we had to bend over, it seemed very shabby that they only gave one card per room, the fridge did not cool, if you asked for a towel for the pool they would charge 2 euros. The buffet waiters in the morning were very friendly and friendly. The blonde receptionist and the cleaning ones too. The other receptionists, unfriendly. Very far from the center, it takes 1 hour between the bus and the subway.

Modern hotel with comfortable and clean rooms, complete bathroom with big size shower, all perfect and functional to the kind of hotel for short work stays, well connected to the main roads. The only drawback the air conditioning cannot be operated from the room. For the rest it is Ok.

Hotel is reasonable, breakfast very simple with little variety. For tourist the location of the hotel is awful! I suggest you look for hotels closer to the sights.

A hotel surrounded by greenery with excellent facilities

I only spent one night there, small but comfortable and above all very clean. If you are not equipped to drive to the center it takes between 25 and 30 euros depending on the time you move.

Hi! My partner and I stayed at the Black Hotel from June 25th to 27th. The hotel is very welcoming and elegant. The rooms are nice spacious and always clean and impeccable. The meals were very abundant and delightful. The friendly and always helpful staff, especially the manager, the receptionist Marica and Giuseppe's room service. Congratulations to the Black Hotel ... highly recommended!

Cheap and good transport to the tourist spots, tube is very cheep and only a half hour walk or short taxi ride, there is a free van that goes to the station at 8.30, 9.30 & 10.30 to get back from the station you can walk or get a taxi from a nearby taxi rank. Rooms were very good and breakfast was always nice.

Well set and comfortable. The negative is that the minibar does not work being summer. Dinner in the simple hotel.
