The new Ackerman course is a nice redesign by Pete Dye, similar but not quite as well done as The Fort in Indianapolis, and is pricey unless you have a discount card. Pace of play can be an issue here, especially if you get behind a slow group. The rangers actually advise groups that they do NOT have to let faster players through. If you play as a single, you will not be made to feel welcome. The Kampen Course has some typical Pete Dye gimmicks (huge waste areas, hidden hazards, cliff-edged fairways, long forced carries.) Long hikes from greens to the next tee cut down the walkability.

Agree with other review that said Kampen is 1) an excellent course, 2) a very challenging course, and 3) rather expensive. I'm not a great golfer, maybe not even a good golfer, and that course ate me up. Ackerman is much more my speed. I enjoy a parkland course like Ackerman more so than a links-style course like Kampen (just personal preference). Both are very well maintained, and club house staff is professional. Marking down 1 start because: 1) cost of Kampen, 2) for the 1st half of the summer of 2016, their online tee time reservation system wasn't working, and 3) the golf pros listed on their website are challenged to return phone calls.

I had a terrible experience here at Birck Boilermaker Golf Course. The staff at this place were incredibly short, rude, and mean to my friends and I while we played here. They literally made fun of our golf ability and thought it was hilarious. I played at Kampen, and that will be my 1 and only time ever playing there. Hundreds of golf course in America and surrounding areas, stay away from this one.

Both Kampen and Ackerman are fantastic, well-kept courses. Nice driving range and practice greens as well as a challenging links style course in Kampen, and a simpler course in Ackerman. Both great to play.

As a Purdue Graduate and West Lafayette native I golfed this course a ton growing up. Great course to grip and rip and challenge your skill... nowhere near as hard as the Kampen links course.

For almost $100 a round, you might want to put actual sand in the bunkers. It was like concrete. Also state where carts can and cant go. And they wouldn't accept cash for golf payment. Overpriced unless you can get a deal.

Fantastic facility! Took very good care of our group and our charity/business event. The weather made it difficult for the staff, but the course was in great shape. Appreciate their effort and will be back for sure. Pro shop is also great!

Beautiful golf course. Very well managed but a bit pricey to non students.

The driving range is very fun and not too expensive.

Excellent facility. We played the Pete Dye designed Kampen course which was visually impressive as well as being a very good test of golf. A great morning on the links with good friends.

Great golf courses! Reasonable prices. Put these courses in AZ or Florida and you will pay at least 200.00 a round!

As a purdue student it s very convenient to have a course so close by and good rates for students. Friendly staff. Course is tough in some parts but a lot of unique holes. Overall great golf course.

One of the nicest golf courses I have ever played. Both very well maintained, but can be pricey for an ordinary golf player.

Beautiful Pete Dye courses that are playable for all skill levels.

Courses were in great shape even with heavy rains. Our Guy's Weekend was saved!
