Nice hotel on the outside, old part dated but still it's charm. First evening 4-course dinner, 2 years ago also ate there and then it was excellent now the cook had unfortunately missed the point in terms of taste, it was all a bit cowardly .. fortunately the 2nd evening did go well (5-course dinner) but there were also a number of dishes that had little taste. Very unfortunate the expectations were high after 2 years ago ... for the rest had a wonderful stay

The location is beautiful, as well as the exterior, but the rooms are not so comfortable : you can't manage the heating system but you have to decide just to turn it on or off and the room also had the only window half broken.
Located in a dream place where everything is taken care of. Very attentive and friendly staff, which undoubtedly make your stay a memorable one. We will be back!!
Very nice hotel in a quiet location. The rooms are very nicely decorated. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Great breakfast buffet, very good dinner and a good lunch buffet. You can walk nice. There are nice conference rooms and also good food with coffee, snacks and drinks. The staff is very friendly.
Always had very good experiences with it, unfortunately our last visit was a damper with regard to the friendliness of the staff and the room we were given did not meet the expectations we had because of our previous visits. Even decided to go home earlier.
I certainly don't think it's worth 4 stars. Room is anything but clean especially the plumbing and jacuzzi which I still 1 of the most important things. Sauna and Turkish steam bath also draw nothing steam bath did not even work and there was an unpleasant odor. With this at a glance and you are going to view the dinner menu this is outrageously expensive. No, I thought it was anything but ok here !!! They are still lucky with the beautiful location and the cosiness that the hotel itself radiates. Sin of our money
Nice hotel with nice rooms Rooms decorated in an old-fashioned way, but in keeping with the style of the building. Bathroom was neat with a toilet and shower. Breakfast was neatly arranged with sufficient choice of cold and hot dishes
We haven't seen a better hotel in Holland and we've been to a few. Everything is very noble, absolutely clean and the staff stand out for their authentic friendliness and sympathy. We will be back definitely. Hotel Schulz Classic Wedding master & beef factory
Fantastic location in a district of Venlo. Super nice hotel which old masonry combined with quality and comfort of the new furniture. Large rooms with nice bathrooms partly shower u tub. House very nicely decorated. Breakfast was very good except for four days the same cold cuts and on Sundays no salmon. The scrambled eggs were not good. Like yellow mush ... but otherwise a lot on the buffet. Dinner was great and the menu was very good. Advertise not with sauna area but only with swimming pool. The sauna area should not be recommended. Small and everything in a room a little careless u not comfortable. Come again !!
Top hotel at a historic location in Tegelen, you imagine yourself to be a Knight in this area with a beautiful herb garden and adjoining terrace. Unfortunately not visited the artist in the porter's house, but something for next time. The Wellnes can have one small update.
Extremely nice hotel and fine restaurant, offering a really nice experience. Comfortable and clean rooms, combined with an excellent service, make this place my favourite stay in Venlo.
We have been here twice before and were very satisfied then. Stayed two nights now (December 2019), one night of which was an arrangement through Luxury Hotel Company. Excellent arrangement with a good bottle of wine in the room, followed by a delicious 4-course dinner with a somewhat flat Dutch Pinot Noir. Don't worry, you try something.
However, the noise of our room right next to the stairwell (until 2 a.m. at night!) And gallery with creaky floors, we do not find acceptable at this price (the second night cost a sloppy 198 euros with breakfast only). We found the lukewarm response at the reception that they did not know about this very credible. And, moreover, remained without any kind of gesture or apology. We experience this as a missed opportunity and not very hospitable. Furthermore, had a wonderful weekend.
A very beautiful castle, which looks more like a state house. A beautiful entrance with impressive courtyard and beautiful rooms, certainly the upper rooms where we stayed. Do you like historical buildings is an overnight recommended here. The restaurant is also recommended, not cheap but very luxurious food and top service.
Beautiful domain, rooms somewhat outdated but well maintained. Nice surplus: mosquito net on the window and air conditioning in all rooms and common areas. The stay was under the corona measures, but we were not short of anything.
Beautiful dining experience in this hotel restaurant. The interior is cozy and warm. The food portions were big and well prepared. The venue is very cozy and cute great for events and pictures.
Bedroom and bathroom slept one night not clean much dust and stains. Pool floor is slippery and pool not clean. Breakfast is not very extensive you expect more for son price.
our stay was just a weekend from Friday to Sunday after breakfast :) room and staff are great, restaurant is small, dinner was fine nice place to explore further Venlo
It is a very luxurious hotel with very friendly, attentive staff. My wife and I were here for a weekend away for her birthday through a voucher. We were kindly received with a welcome drink. The room did have a few minor points of wear (such as a piece of peeling off wallpaper). But very good beds and enjoyed the little attention because of my wife's birthday. We enjoyed the small swimming pool. (not suitable for real laps). The breakfast was spacious but well-arranged and tasty. I would certainly want to book here again, it was wonderful to relax. Compliments for all the staff and restaurant
Romantic beautiful in the Limburg nature where you can have an unforgettable delicious meal. Hotel is equipped with almost everything to enjoy a weekend of what they have to offer. 20 minutes drive you are already at the Outlet center Roermond. Our room was spacious and chic. You have to love historical. It is not a modern palace of the future because then you are wrong. Super nice environment with lots of greenery.
Super nice hotel! With even better staff! Beautiful hotel with fantastic rooms. And the staff is really great! Extremely polite, customer-friendly and flying for you!
We are parents of 2 children and are not used to luxury. This hotel exceeded our expectations and seemed like prince and princess. Have not eaten so well for a long time, had so much time for us and have not been so relaxed for a long time. Can recommend it 100%. Thanks to the great staff for this wonderful weekend.
Beautiful. Rooms lovely and comfy. No air in room, but they did supply cooling dehumidifier. Restaurant very expensive, but town was only a 10min walk away
The rooms here are bigger than in the one in venlo. The location is beautiful as the hotel has been a 'water castle' back in the days. The breakfast buffet offers all different kind of food from fruits, over fish, cerials, different kinds of bread and buns as well as warm dishes like scrambled eggs and bacon, mushrooms and sausages. The 'bad thing' is that the kitchen is only open until 9PM.
Beautiful authentic building supplemented with modern contemporary architectural style. Slept well (royal bed) and really good food. Downside was the organization around the service staff. All of them lovely people, but no eye for the guest. During the 2 days that we stayed we did not receive the service that belongs to a hotel of this class. It was striking that this was not only the case with us, but with several guests ....... a missed opportunity.
Very nice hotel in a uniquely restored castle. The location is unique, the rooms very spacious. What I liked most was the lake with lotus flowers right in front, the breakfast location, and the castle domain where you could walk, cycle and even visit the pottery museum at the entrance. The pool is also pretty nice. I am unsure of the dinner options, as the center of Tegelen is pretty close and you can find more options there. Overall, very nice for business travel as well as holidays. The rooms are a little pricey, but very much worth it.
What a wonderful hotel! Great tasty 5-course dinner and afterwards still in the sauna; what a treat! The service is excellent. Friendly, helpful and genuinely interested staff. Highly recommended!
First night and alls well. Very classy joint staff fluent in Dutch English German beautiful little restaurant lovely rooms and a charming bar set up that spreads across the foyer. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow. I'll keep you posted lol
We had a pleasant stay in this hotel. The room had air conditioning, boiler, minibar, hairdryer and TV. The re is lake around the hotel full of birds and fishes. It also has a botanical garden with a small herb garden. There are also some farm around it. The food was expensive and not special. Their own burger was bad. The distance from the nearest public station is about 15min walk. The swimming pool was open from early morning till late at night.
Nice hotel, very good food, decent friendly service, very clean, large rooms, swimming pool, pool, sauna. The food in the restaurants is very good, the breakfast and especially the bread excellent.
Called the day before arrival to make a reservation for the restaurant. The receptionist, despite confirming our booking herself, could not find anything about our booking. She only found it after about 10 minutes. Then our stay. Although we fully understand the Corona measures, this hotel goes too far. Rooms are not cleaned during the stay. Had to make our bed ourselves. Only 2 large towels and 2 smaller ones, which you don't expect from a Bilderberg hotel. No guest towels. Room was old and dingy, carpet did not look good. Then the restaurant. Got a table in a super uninviting part namely in the breakfast room not really cozy for a dinner. Main menu was put on our table about 1m away. If only we had to take it ourselves and put it in front of us. As a result my wife nearly burned her hands because plate was hot. This morning breakfast. Were met at the entrance. You can put on plastic gloves there, then grab a tray, load everything onto your tray, and then find a place in the other room. Wasn't asked if we wanted coffee or tea. Tea and coffee pot were centrally located on a table. Find out for yourself. In short, we had had enough and left after 1 night instead of 3. Very disappointing.
We could not sleep due to the enormous heat in the hotel room (outside temperature was 6 degrees?) And day while we had turned on the air conditioning at 17 degrees on the highest setting. The room was large, the beds good, but the interior in the room was old and worn, there were no extra pillows unfortunately, the lampshades were crooked, damp stains on the ceiling and carpet was anything but fresh. One towel was even covered with bright pink lipstick. The setting is beautiful and the hotel looks nice from the outside as well as the lobby. Fortunately, there was an elevator. But what a bad night we had and that for this expensive hotel room (and this was the cheapest at 174 per night). My husband was so fed up at night that he had already packed his bag and wanted to drive home.
