I would have never known about this place if it weren't for the group I was there with. It's nicely done and the industrial architectural elements give your eyes a treat. I don't know much about what all businesses are there but whatever they are, Big Nerd Ranch seems a very nice place to be in.

Awesome group of people, I attended a Rails Girls event last spring and was completely taken by how much fun these people have and still classify it as work :-) Awesome bunch of hard working men and women doing things unthought of !!!

I took the iOS and Swift Essentials Bootcamp in 2018. I was a complete beginner to coding, so I was skeptical about the 7 day timeframe and initially thought that I should take something over the course of several weeks, but this was the only option in the Atlanta area. I reached out to Big Nerd Ranch with this concern and the response from the staff member (who ended up being my instructor) was I assure you that our bootcamps are very beginner friendly, and we have had plenty of people with no experience do well with it. I m a pretty tech-savvy person with 10 years of experience in video editing. I spent the month leading up to the bootcamp taking another iOS course on Udemy (who another classmate agreed was more helpful), but after day 2 of the Bootcamp, I was hopelessly lost. I spent the whole week trying to catch up, studying outside of class, attending the optional night class sessions, all to come out feeling stupid, defeated, and completely humiliated for $5,000. I realize now that those in the industry may read this and think, Yeah you shouldn t have thought you could learn swift in a week as a total newbie, and that was the concern I expressed upfront. I take my part to blame for not trusting that or seeing the reassurance as a sales tactic, but it s also a shame on the company s part, who I imagine is already very profitable, for falsely reassuring the lesser experienced to spend such a huge investment on something that they are not a good fit for.
