Big Dogs BBQ has declined. About two months ago I ordered my usual favorite, their brisket, and it was dry. They were more than accommodating and in the end gave me a gift certificate for a lbs of brisket. I returned recently and to my dismay, dry brisket. I will wait a couple of months and try again. I've noticed more and more collectables with price tags on them cluttering the place up. Not sure what that's about.

Aside from the fact that I ate a full pound of meat today while I was there, I really enjoyed my lunch. Authentic, slow smoked, American barbeque, is a great alternative when you are settling low carb meals. Just stay away from their sides and desserts (unless it's a cheat day!)

Cute little place! Nice little town!! Just a construction worker doing a job, and wanted to take a memory from it with me. 14.00 for a BBQ sandwich, fries, pickle and a coke! BBQ and fries was really dry even after putting the BBQ on it? Just thought it could have been better with more meat and a better bun? Was there only once, and don't know what else they had that was probably the bomb! Would have been more delightful to have went to McDonald's and spent 5.00?

Great food awesome well made sides. Will definitely be coming back. We have gone many places and this place by far hits all strong points. Mac n cheese to die for baked beans that will make you want more and then to top it off with the butter cake that's amazing. BBQ at its best in our opinion. Must try!!

It was wonderful. The food was awesome and quick! The lady working the counter was super friendly and helpful. She was like a southern mother. The menu is straightforward and not crowded with wasteful options. Drove 1.5 hours for this food.

Great BBQ place. I ordered their brisket sandwich combo. It was very tasty and decent sized. My only issue was the strong BBQ smoke smell in the air, which was great at first, but it left my skin and clothes smelling like I was grilling the whole day. But I would definitely go back!

Everything was quite good but a few hitches here and there kept it from 5 stars.
Biggest issue was the Carolina sauce.... If you don't have it at every table people won't notice like was my case I didn't notice it until I had had my fill.

Really friendly place. Me and the girlfriend went here and ate for just a little over twenty dollars. Pulled pork is pretty good and their sauces are pretty decent too. Definitely check it out if you like BBQ.

A disappointing meal and poor service - Really looking forward to a meal at Big Dogs today and the potato salad and bake beans were great. That is where the good ended. I had the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and it was so dry and chewy I did not finish the second bite but had remove it and discarded it.

I did finish the beans and potato salad and though someone might come by and ask how it was but that never happened.

When we left I spoke to a gentlemen behind the counter and told him it was so dry and chewy and told him they should not give any other customers anything that bad. He said thank you and went on his way.

I find myself in wonder when a place that depends on repeat customers could careless when they serve a bad meal.

We have had good to fair meals in the past but for the price, I am sad to say, unlikely that we will return as it is clear they don t care.

Sorry they are going down hill.

A Must Stop Place to Eat and Visit! Excellent service, excellent food and interesting antiques... Near the reservoir, this little restaurant is a gem in the world of fast food. The owners son took the time to explain everything on the menu. We had the brisket and pulled pork. The baked beans are amazing. We will definitely go back and suggest you give it a try too!

Had the pulled pork. While the portion size was good, there was no real evidence that the meat was actually smoked. There were no bits of bark in the meat that one would typically find in actual pulled pork, just a uniform sickly gray color and the texture of the meat was overly wet/mushy. That, and the fact that this was the only BBQ place i've ever been to where you didn't smell smoke outside leads me to believe the meat was just roasted with liquid smoke. The folks there were friendly, so an extra star for that.

Every time I come in here, it's always a wonderful time. I know the people that own Big Dogs and they are some of the sweetest people I know. They are a really good christian family. Just like the sign says it is THE BEST BBQ IN TOWN. Come in and try it. You will not be disappointed. They even have really good desserts.

Many cool things to say about this unique place. Big Dogs is super quick for lunch. Decorated in Americana and most of it is for sale.
Music playing lightly in the background. They have a family movie featured in a marquis sign behind the counter. Today it was the Sand Lot and they get an extra star because they had closed captioning on which should almost be a law for gastropubs.
Different wooden kitchen tables and chairs make up the dining room with the walls covered in Antique Coca-Cola and other nostalgic items such as the leg lamp from A Christmas Story.
Had the brisket combo with Smokehouse Baked Beans and Chips.
Have to order and pay at the counter then they bring it out to you.
The server said the chef told him that he put extra brisket on the sandwich...so if my pics don't match your sandwich or if they tell everyone that then you will know....
The server also explained their 3 sauces on the table. Original, Sweet, and Hot. They are all good. The Original had a note of clove and was very good on the brisket as recommended by the server. Was added to the baked beans. Sauces can be purchased in mason jars.
They have self serve soda fountain and also offer beer and wine.
Only negs: Street parking, was cold in the dining room, large fountain drink is 3.29 but "comes with a Souvenir Cup". Don't make their own chips, do have high quality brand kettle chips served in a bag. Tables are a bit tough to navigate through to get to the bathrooms.

Overall a good home town restaurant with nothing chain store about it.
