Excellent tour of Big Cat Rescue. Beautiful animals and well informed professional staff. Well worth the visit.
WOW..where do I start. This has to be a must stop if you live in or are visiting Florida. Big Cat Rescue is an unbelievable adventure. You meet individuals that donate their time to care for these cats. You receive an education about the cats at the facility and how they came to be there. Some of the reasons are heartbreaking. They do their best to give each cat the best quality of life and provide an enclosure that is as realistic to their natural habitat as possible. They fight for the rights of big cat's through out the United States. Need I say more.Take the time to visit and learn!
I loved it !! So informative and beautiful . I was always a naysayer about captivity until I visited BCR and heard more about why they do what they do . I will go back time and time again !!!
Good place to share with the family they give a lot of education about wildlife
It was fun. Wish I could have petted them though. Love Tigers
My family and I visited Big Cat Rescue last summer. It is an amazing place!! The volunteers all work SO hard to educate visitors and to help ALL the animals live out their remaining years healthy and happy.
Little confued about how you get in. Place opens at 3pm. We stopped by at 11am to check the place out. We were told they weren't open and asked to come back later. They do not sell tickets or anything early. We made it back around 2:45pm and they were turning ppl around because they were full. I will never even try to go here again unless they come up with a better entry system. I am on vacation and do not wait around a little town for hours with so much else to do. They are obviously getting plenty of money for the cats...
Here's a trick I noticed for those who want to wait. Bring two cars and park one in the lot early (lots of empty cars at 11am from out of town) then go off and do something else and come back later. They turn ppl around once their lot is full so on your return you will have to park in town and walk in. Either that or show up at 2pm and stand around for an hour you might get lucky.
Big Cat Rescue is a fantastic non-profit organization that truly cares about the wellbeing of their animals. The volunteers here care about their animals health and the enclosures are always clean. There are always volunteers on the property checking out the health of the cats to be sure they're healthy. There are constantly smiling faces around the gift shop and the volunteers all seem like they really want to be there.
The cats are out and moving around and look so content in their enclosures. The volunteers make toys and special enrichment for all the cats to keep them excited because they keep their cats for their whole lives. Even the older cats are very spry and are up walking and being friendly towards the tours. The cats here are happy and look healthy, it's a great place to visit and learn about the illegal animal trade and what we, as a society, can do to stop it.
These animals need our help, and Big Cat Rescue is teaching us the appropriate steps to save some of these highly endangered animals from extinction. A marvelous place to visit for families and a great learning experience. I would recommend a visit to anyone even remotely interested in wildlife and animal conservation.
We had the honor & privilege to visit you today for the 1st time (from Delaware). Many times I was moved to tears, sometimes from sad stories of your beautiful cats' past experiences, but mostly from seeing the good that you all do for them. I will tell anyone who will listen what a wonderful experience we had!! Big thanks to every one of you!!!!
Been going hear for years and keeps getting better. Very unique experience and they are really helping the cats
Loved learning about the cats and their stories. The place appears to be very well run and the tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Recommend making advance reservation, particularly Friday through Sunday.
Wasn't sure what I was getting into but it's a wonderful guided walking tour with 3 guides, Bridget, Kristen, and Jeff, it was super informative, the animals all look healthy and happy. Definitely worth the trip.
Nice and friendly staff. Just make sure to set up tour before going.
Great place to see big cats in a humain environment.
A rescue and sanctuary for big cats in need. The kindness and caring of the staff more than make up for the sad stories.
Great tour. Guides are very informative and nice.
The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell they adore their kitties! The animals are so well cared for! We go back every few months to enjoy the tour and the wildlife. If you love big and little cats, this place is a must see!
The best experience, up close and personal with these majestic cats! We did the Keeper Tour which was great as the group was much smaller and it was a much more intimate experience. Our tour guide Dillon was great and knew so much that he was able to answer everyone's questions. Hands down amazing experience for myself and my family. Everyone should go and educate themselves.
Nice place but guides lack of knowledge of the history of each animal. Knowing more about these animals will benefit the program
A great organization dedicated to the well being of rescued big cats. A tour is well worth part of your day.
great organization provides an opportunity to get up close and learn about big cats. great mission. family friendly.
A trustworthy organization to support! That picture is me getting up close and personal with a rescue cat.
Definitely worth a visit. Go on Saturday morning to see the cats fed.
The place is one of the few places providing refuge for big cats in the US. Make sure you bring a good camera with you during the tour as is very worth it. More wild cats than in most zoos. BigCats makes an awesome job providing for the animals
They are doing an awesome job, helping cats. Please come visit and help the cats any way you can.
To be honest, I have not been here, but based on other reviews and videos and articles by BCR I know they are an awesome place. In other reviews, the 1 star ones, it disgusts me how people who haven't been there, just probably animal breeders, just there to hurt big cat rescue and spread lies.
A great place to see big cats that have had hard lives. Other places treat their animals poorly but these people really care and do a lot for their rehab. Very educational for teens but not for really young children.
Great purpose, better mission....
Papa John's.
Amazing place and awesome staff! This is one of those places you go to and you can tell that the people who work there really put their hearts into it.
They do a great job pertaining to the safety and well being of their rescued animals.
Love it. Have been twice and can't wait to go back.
Awesome place. Tireless all-volunteer staff and guides doing important, thankless work caring for endangered and abused animals. Very educational and unique experience.
What they are doing is great. I definitely recommend supporting this.
wonderful work they do here. It warms my heart :)
BCR is purrrrfect
I just saw that BCR made MSN s list of 30 charities that won t waste your money. Congratulations. Looking forward to visiting.
Great place to hear the story of why cats are at the rescue. Our guide Lisa, was wonderful! To hear the stories behind the cats there really helps to educate the public. Seeing these Cats in a natural setting is wonderful
Very nice tour ! The guide was as informative as she could be.
Amazing experience! Beyond our expectations! It was very educational and we enjoy so much the tour. My 11 year old daughter is very happy with all she learned. Cant stop talking about the big kitties plus it was one of her birthday presents. We are animal lovers but felines are the faves! The gift shop was very nice as well. We bought a couple of things. Thank you for the learning experience! We will be back!
All of the Staff are well educated and the Cats are beautiful and healthy. Love this place
Fantastic retirement home for the big cats - and some little ones, too! Just visited in May 2017, and was so impressed with the care these cats get. The Keepers are fabulous - the enclosures are HUGE and clean - there are wonderful dens for the cats to hide in during the heat of the day or if they don't feel like visitors - there are trees shading the enclosures and the paths, and soft sand in all the enclosures for the cats to lay on. Lots of landscaping so the cats can play "hide and seek." I'd go back in a minute - and plan to!
Very enlightening, would recommend to anyone with any interest in animals.
Big cat rescue is the epitome of what a sanctuary should be. If anyone should visit a different 'sanctuary' they should find out what that place's stance is on breeding for captivity, profit. The most important aspect is profit. Big cat rescue does its best to educate the public about the hazards of exotic animal ownership, if only other 'sanctuaries' did the same...
I purchased tickets through Zerve and one of the show dates was incorrect (my mistake). I contacted BCR as soon as I noticed, and they fixed it the same day. They emailed me with the correction and even called me back to confirm that it had been corrected. Customer service like this is almost unheard of these days. I am 100% satisfied with their kindness and exceptional customer service skills. A BIG thank you to Jennifer and Gale, you both played a BIG part in making my daughter's dream a reality. See you in April 2016!! THANK YOU from Iowa!! :)
If you've ever been to a roadside zoo, you know how troublesome some "sanctuaries" can be. Big Cat Rescue is different. You can tell each person you encounter really cares about the animals and the group as a whole is dedicated to educating the public on the realities of conservation.
would recommend it
Enjoyed the tour and it was well organized
good team, very professional and answered everyone's question
would suggest they fix the HUGE potholes in the driveway
Wish we could see the exhibits ot have a bit more time than the 1.5 tour
found the other options a bit too pricey for even our group of 3 even if they offered a discount or package deal, i may have considered it
wasn't pleased that i emailed a question and was immediately put on an email list without my consent
lastly, i wish there was a way to have an area for each enclosure where you can take photos without the enclosure getting in the way or as much of it, but not sure how realistic that is

I really like this place and what they are doing. We had a great time on our keeper tour. We had what felt like personalized interaction with the cats. Approaching their enclosure with their keeper aka the hand that feeds, the cats would graciously greet us face to face. We really got to be up close and personal with a variety of big beautiful cats. This was my first real animal experience that pushed me to start thinking and learning about animal rights, conservation and ethical tourism. At first I wanted to pet a baby tiger. Now I understand on a deeper level how important it is to protect these animals. We enjoyed our experience greatly. We ll enjoy looking at our photos for years to come. Hopefully someday we ll be back. A big Thank You to everyone at big cat rescue!
We definitely recommend signing up for the Keeper Tour!
Good place to visit and very good place to see big cats .
I LOVE THE BIG KATS ESPECIALLY SHAZAM. THE TEAM TREATS THE KATS SO WELL. I WISH I COULD DO THE SAME. THX FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF THEM. I LOVE SEEING THEM PLAY WITH THEIR TOYS & TREATS. I WANT TO LEAVE SOME MONEY FR
Absolutely love this place!! The cats here are the happiest cats I have ever seen in captivity!! I would recommend anyone take a visit to see them and hear their stories!
An excellent tour of the rescue. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about all of their animals (save a couple that they are temporarily holding pending litigation against the animals' previous owners) and did a great job of keeping the tour at the right balance of entertaining and informative. All money given for tours, merch, donations, etc. is used to support the cats.
When we toured in February '19, we saw servals, savannah cats, lynx, tigers, panthers, and lions, among others.
This is an amazing place. Go and see the cats, hear their stories and help them live happier lives.
Great place to visit. All the volunteers do a great job taken care of those big cats.
Where do I start this is such an amazing place. They do so much to help all the cats. The staff is so welcoming. Great place to take photos with basic cameras while enjoying the beauty the cats. Love love love this place
I was totally impressed with this place. Of course I'm thrilled to be able to get so close to the animals in a safe manner and experience their beauty. The cause of the organization is so important. I'd rather they not put the animals through a circus-like show, but I understand the need to encourage the public to come since admissions and donations are their only means of funding. Even though I live about an hour away, when I get my new life settled in there's a good chance that I'll try to volunteer some of my time to help them out.
Absolutely beautiful big cat park. The tour is really recommended. This is how you learn a story about each animal. Very nice and very well-kept animals with lots of exercise. Very nice management staff. Top organization from A to Z.
If you like big cat's you will enjoy this place the really take care of them.
One of our favourite places we went on our trip around state of Florida! Highly recommended.
This is a lovely "retirement" facility for these beautiful cats. They definitely know they have visitors and came over and even talked to us! Taking a private tour was far more delightful than seeing animals with the crowd at a zoo. It felt very personal between us and the animals. Even the shy ones made an appearance. We heard a range of cat sounds from meows to roars. My favourite is Manny Jaguar and he hopped up on his platform and put on a show. What a beauty!
We got rained out and got our money back. I was disappointed but so intrigued I Will Be Back.
The best thing on our family trip. Cool to see how they track and care for the animals. Wonderfull volunteers
Amazing place to visit. You would never guess this is right in the city! Great staff with answers to all your questions!
A great place! Absolutely loved it. Highly recommend going. They did a great time advocating for the animals. I really bought into their philosophy about keeping animals as free range as possible.
Went on the keeper tour. We loved it and the work they have put into the rescue center is amazing. Staff are great and very knowledgeable. The 2 hour tour may have been a little long on my 10 year old, but the 12 year old loved it. For 2 hours it may be a little expensive but I think it's well worth it.
A wonderful sanctuary for beautiful animals who otherwise would have no where. Whole crew is very passionate about the cats they care for. Will return multiple times. The standard tour is great and very informative.
Very educational and yet still a wonderful experience.
They take great care of the animals. The cats love large cardboard boxes to play in.
I love the place, I'm glad THIS company cares about cats.
Had a blast on the standard tour. Learned a lot. Cats were big.
We come about 2 to 3 times out of the year to Big Cat Rescue and everytime is such an amazing experience. We (my boyfriend and I) absolutely love Big cat rescue and what Carole has made a home to many cats big, med., and small. We cannot wait to come back again. One day we both wanna volunteer here :)
Great place, its obvious they care about the animals, not the tourist dollars - in the best type of way. Very informative tour and unique facility. Able to see many large cats quite close.
Loved it. Go for the feeding tour. Very popular. Very impressive.
My husband and I visited Big Cat Rescue in August and really enjoyed our visit. We were very impressed with the facility and the staff. The cats are very clean, in gorgeous enclosures and are well cared for. It makes me happy to know there are people in the world committed to the protection of big cats!

I learned so much during the 1.5 hour tour ! It was incredible ! I love seeing all of the beautiful cats, even though the majority of them had a very sad stories. But this is the reason that the rescue is in place! They do such a fantastic job at caring for these animals and educating the public so that we all can help them! I highly recommend anyone to visit this rescue!
This place is an amazing experience. There are many big cats to see and learn about. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable.
