Beautiful Zoo . So clean..animals well done take care look halthy and happy and relax...top zoo.love it
We had heard that the zoo was a good day trip and tackled it even with light rain most of the day. Good variety of animals and zoo is very clean and well maintain. We took the bus tour around allows you to get on and off any stop. So stay longer in area or just to the next buss. I have been to 6 different Zoo's this one rates at the top.
The zoo is a amazing it is so clean and fresh. They take really good care for the animals.#the animals are so cute.
Over priced over hyped waste of money the Zoo from my childhood is gone
Some people don't realize that the San Diego Zoo Global is a non-profit that supports the SD Zoo, SD Safari park, projects all over the world, not to mention supporting the survival of many species that man's need for more space is wiping out.
The folks at both parks are dedicated to supporting the survival of these species and educating people with having these amazing places for the animals and to help people understand. Some use the animals for their viewing pleasure, some for highly needed education, some for both. The hope is that it is both.
Also, many people don't realize that the Sd Zoo Global has not one, but two, "frozen zoos" in place should a species be wiped out, they have created hope that they are not gone forever.
So, when you complain that it is "overpriced", think about these things. They needs these funds to help species that are being wiped out (largely by us) around the world survive.
When I first saw that day passes were $54 I almost decided not to go. However I heard it was one of the best zoos in the world, so I sprang for it. Once inside I realized why it was so expensive to get in. Every plant, flower, and animal was indiginous of the area where it was found in the zoo.(plants from Madagascar we're found in the Madagascar exhibit, and the terrain of the zoo was modeled after the terrain of that island.) The zoo is ridiculously huge. U could definitely spend several days getting through it. My favorite part was watching the lemurs play, and getting to see the koalas and wallabies. They also had spectacular aviaries filled with colorful birds. Wear your walking shoes and and take water. Take your time watching the pandas and the monkeys. Have some spring rolls as u walk and enjoy the smiling children as they discover the beauty of each new animal.
Always a great experience. The enclosures are beautiful, lush landscaping, so many animals.
Always love the zoo. After 70 years, I still enjoy multiple visits each year.
Favorite place of my children! Well-groomed animals, cleanliness, beauty around.
Every time we go here my children and I make new memories. We love talking to the guides and have an incredible time at the park. The tours are also great and very informative.
They just reopened. It wasn't packed, and there are plenty of sanitizing stations everywhere. They have people constantly cleaning the park, wiping down tables and surfaces. There are only a few exhibits closed, but everything else is open. We didn't wait in a single line, and enjoyed the day there.
Horrible so many Animals look very unhappy.. I would not recommend this place. Way to Expensive for what you get
Staff was nice and animals well kept. At first ticket prices seemed a bit high but definitely worth it in the end!
My son and I didn't get to half the zoo before we had to leave. I'm from East St. Louis, IL so I'm more accustomed to the St. Louis Zoo. Both very nice. Keeper's Club should come in handy this year.
So cool got to see a handler with a baby koala, she had lost her mom and they were helping him readjust, THEY ARE HEROS
It was a beautiful day, the employees are very pleasant!
The night time zoo is amazing the animals are moving around more.
