Big Bend Hospice offers comfort services to families and to the terminally ill patient. My experience with family, loved ones who were taken care of with such love, compassion and dignity. The staff from nursing to administration were comfort givers, grief counselors and just very good people with a passion for helping those in need. My Aunt was given such love at Beg Bend Hospice, and spent hours of comfort while our family was able to spend quality time that was so important as we let go of our loved one, for our time here on earth. There is a peace that comes with knowing there is care like this available to all persons surrounding their loved ones. Thank you Big Bend Hospice! We are forever grateful for all you do....... An update to my review 7/18/2013. Today my Father passed away at Big Bend Hospice. He was treated with dignity, was out of pain and was lovingly handled during a short two day stay at Hospice House. My family was around, in a comfortable environment, filled with love. Thank you Big Bend Hospice for the service you provide to our loved ones.
Helpful, professional, friendly staff. They gave my Mother exemplary quality care from the moment they picked her up at the hospital to the moment she passed, and after her passing took care of all the arrangements for getting her to the funeral home. They were in my Mother's room at least once an hour, and were always forthcoming with a prognosis. If your loved one needs hospice care this is the only place to use.
not a good orginization to work for. employees treated rude by management. high turn over of staff. worst place I have ever worked. Nursing staff still gave compassionate care for pain, fear, death and grief.
My father passed away at their hospice house. It was lovely and comforting, and the staff is nothing short of amazing and compassionate during what is a difficult time. I felt fortunate that he was there.
Both my mother and father died within the last 4 months. When my father needed hospice care I had trouble getting Big Bend Hospice to respond, even though he was in distress. I guess the bureaucracy slowed things up. I realized then that Big Bend is in it for the money. Then when my mother was dying I had to decide between Covenant Hospice and Big Bend. I made the mistake of choosing Big Bend again (based on recommendations I received). My mother was to go to Hospice House, but died before she got there. Even though I had received a huge song and dance from the Big Bend rep, and decided to have my mother taken to Hospice House, when she died before she could be transported there I never even received a phone call from Big Bend. Why? Because they don't start getting paid until the patient is in their care. If I had it to do over again I would go with Covenant Hospice. They too may be money-driven, but I can't imagine they could be any less helpful or caring than Big Bend.
Big Bend Hospice made my mothers journey home so much better for her and for her family. There simply are not enough words to express our gratitude for the compassionate care that we received from the receptionist, the music therapist ,the nurses and the nurse practitioner. We were truly blessed to be at the hospice house for moms final days. Everyone in the organization was wondering and we will forever be grateful.
The nurses told me they were calling the funeral home shortly after my Father had passed HOURS later after allowing visitors to see my Father and Lying to my when I called and asked they called them and again LIED to me..This place CAN NOT be trusted.
Big Bend Hospice offers skilled care to families facing the most challenging circumstances. Their staff is kind and compassionate. Tallahassee is lucky to have an organization like Big Bend Hospice. I don't know what we would do without them. Visiting Angels of Tallahassee
Big Bend had some responsible and caring staff but Overall they did not create an atmosphere of trust and compassion. The nurse assigned to come to our home was clinical , never asked how any of us were getting along . Just wanted to take vital signs and record data. My mother was suffering greatly and the day before she died , when the end was near, she actually called and asked if she could come and bring a medical student in to observe ! How intrusive and insensitive. Since my mother died we have not received any communication , written or verbal, to follow up and help us get any closure. I would not choose Big Bend again for anyone in my family.
The nurses that took care of my father were amazing. They were very kind and compassionate to my father and me, that is why I gave this place two stars. However, the administration and social worker is another story. Nothing more than a business.
Big Bend Hospice provided care in the last days of my dear friends life. It was top quality care from very sensitive and well qualified people. It made all the difference in her final days to be at home, in familiar surroundings, with family. Big Bend Hospice became her extended family.
I know a little about the quality of caregivers that work for Big Bend Hospice as my sister, who was once the lead nurse on a local hospital's heart team, was employed by Big Bend.
Anyone in need of services such as BBH can provide would be choosing the very best care possible when they choose Big Bend Hospice.
I d like to say thank you to the staff for taking care of my dad the last few days he was here with us. Not only was the staff compassionate they were very understanding and made sure we felt as comfortable as we could. Thank you so much
