A very beautiful place located in the center of the Dutch city of Rotterdam, inside the public square, the place is very spacious and its visitors are many lovers of books and knowledge, the place is close to the train station and very close to the famous cubic houses in Rotterdam and very close to the famous and very beautiful Rotterdam Mall, the place is in the middle of the city and close to Hotels and public facilities, but I advise visitors if they want to rent rooms, move away a little from the place because the prices in such places are very high. There is a parking lot under the mall that you can use to park your car, because the prices are very high, as the hour exceeds four euros (4 euros), A very beautiful place located in the center of the Dutch city of Rotterdam, inside the public square, the place is very wide and many visitors love books and readings, the place is close to the train station and very close to the famous cubic houses in Rotterdam and very close to the famous and very beautiful Rotterdam mall, the place is medium city and close to Motels and public facilities, but I advise visitors that they want to rent rooms to get away a little from the place because the prices in such places are very high, there is a parking lot under the mall that you can use to park your car, because the prices are very high, as the hour exceeds four euros (4 euros), The place is beautiful for tourism and to enjoy the art of architecture.

Then you think: visit public library on vacation? lol I always go and this one caught my attention a lot, for the quality, structure, respect of those who are there studying, working and visiting. It is worth going to see it, visit all floors, have a coffee, have fun with what the library offers you. The ride is fast and is the way to other popular tourist spots.

It is a privilege to be able to enjoy a building like the Rotterdam Library, in a country that truly values education and culture. The building fully interprets that. It is a beautiful place located in a very special place in the city, in front of the great Market Square.

A good looking and spacious building and polite staff. I was there on Sunday afternoon and there was plenty of space to work in the silent room on the 6th floor. However, I found it ridiculous that you have to pay for the toilets to use them. Also, there is no free wifi! The city buses have a free wifi on them, but not the central library.

I actually had a reviuw posted they removed the XD.

On Monday 6 July last. (a somewhat rainy day) I visited the library, upon entering I did not receive a health check or questions from staff.

On Tuesday July 7 (a sunnier day) I visited the library again and saw 2 security guards from afar. I recognized the woman, because I saw her yesterday while walking her round. Then I walked towards them towards the revolving doors (entrance or entrance library) and I passed them with my earplugs. I see the male security guard moving his mouth and mumble yes and walk on. Then I intuitively feel that he is not feeling well and see from the corner of his eye that he is following me like a cartoon character (with a sign in his hand with the rules of the library in corona time). He asks me why I walk in with earplugs when he speaks to me, and explains that he asked if I had any complaints. I then explain that I was not checked by anyone yesterday. He went on to say that there is nothing he can do about it and that he is not his colleagues. I continued that I thought it was a stupid policy and indicated that he could pass this on to his colleagues or employer. He indicated that he did not want to do this. I said that I understand that there is a lot of bad policy around this mentality, currently in the library, but this can be extended to several branches, to get sick. He did not want to learn from it and give feedback to his employer. What a dork say. reason that policy failed, because of these types who think only for their own interest. Back to the security guard, called me stupid, to my reaction that I thought the policy was stupid. And I then indicated to him that I understand that there are security guards who receive blows. It was an ironic display, he who wanted to be proven right and could not place it in his theory of mind. I learn from this that you should not fight level with level, but next time follow the '' rules '', because yes rules are there to maintain order and structure. Although in this case it is performed half-half. And you can take this away, but I keep posting it. Incidentally, I notice in several professional groups with a controlling function that they are very happy with the extra tasks to check people, happy to be back at work, lol, because there is almost no work already.

Beautiful library. Provides a view of Blaak and Markthal via escalators. Built in the 80's. Lots of activities for young and old. Large yellow pipes outside the building contain the ventilation and other connections.

I like the library, but I think its ridiculous that you have to pay for the internet and the toilet at the biggest library of Rotterdam, or to be honest in any library anywhere in the Netherlands. The internet in much lower developed countries is free at the libraries. If you turn your wifi scanner on, you will see dozens of mobile hotspot internet users, using their phone data bundle. I guess that tells a lot.

Large, open, modern library. Plenty of space to read and several interesting expositions. I had a tour of the Erasmus and Rotterdam archives, which were expansive and great to see; many exceptional pieces, from centuries past.

A place I can't believe is a library. There is a Starbucks on the first floor and a large chessboard, which is an organ for the elderly in Europe. It's a full-fledged library from the second floor, and it's more like a Starbucks atmosphere than we ask for quietness.

Even this place also takes toilet money, but it's cheaper at .2 euros, so I'm going to go here.

Regarding the exterior of the building, I can only say that I think it is an ugly building. It is very striking because of its color and design. When you see it, coming from the Hoogstraat, in combination with the Laurenskerk, the tears are almost in your eyes: shame!
But as far as the interior is concerned: it is very spacious and it looks pretty nice with all the lamps there. I have no judgment about the possession of books, reference works, etc.; I only visited the building to see what it looks like.

I think this library is very beautiful and large. The library has many different books, many computers for the members of the library and many beautiful places to sit and read.
I paid 21 per 1 year to become a member. This is very cheap price, you will be happy with your borrowing card from this library.
Moreover, you can come in completely free of charge to have a look at the library, if you want.

I liked coming there. But due to Corona, De Bieb has lost its most important function as a place to study and meet. And that is very sad. I borrow books digitally on the E-reader. Today I went to pick up a reserved CD. Security is extremely friendly and will keep you alert with a searching look: Complaints / No Complaints? Inside hand gel and two yellow vests to welcome the clientele (I think). They are especially interested in each other. So I'll be there in half a second.

It is a pity that the library has been completely closed for about 8 weeks now.
Should still be possible, with some creativity and commitment of the staff, to be able to be open to a limited extent and / or to set up a collection counter.
Unfortunately, this seems too much to ask and people passively wait until it is determined by the authorities that they can open again, while so much more is possible.
Don't hide behind the corona crisis!

I highly recommend the place for studying specifically and it is known for that. You can snack a little bit but make sure you keep the place clean. There are also small scale gaming events there on the 2nd floor every Friday if you want to have some fun or just to try out the console and games.
