Geen gratis toiletten die ook nog eens vies zijn. Geen fijne plek om met je (klein)kind te bezoeken. Nee, deze bibliotheek verdient geen pluim!

Super chic library! Bonus point: if you like coffee -> there is a starbucks in the building. Wifi is not accessible as a guest
Nice, coloured and relaxing place where the books are only one of many many different proposals and concret ways to convince you to engage your time and improve your life...
Personal plumbing house
Beautiful design
No matter the appearance or the inside
A very good relaxing rest
Good place for reading or writing
Actually it's not particularly quiet
But the top floor is a relatively quiet place
But there are not many seats
Nice cooperation and fun to do the activity with your children
Great location and always something to do. Watch a chess tournament between 2 people, watch the World Cup on a screen or admire all kinds of mini exhibitions. I always liked coming here to work quietly or have a drink on their terrace upstairs with a view of the busy market and market hall!
Come by every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month for a game event where everyone can play for free on 6 4K TVs. On the first floor from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Nice library, but you have to watch your stuff. It is common for young people to just sit here 'chilling' and stealing laptops and other valuables.
Nevertheless, the visit is worth it.
Good study areas, also the possibility to eat something (inside or outside on the terrace).
A great place the bibliotheek an also the starbucks in its a possitive vibe there i love it.
Friendly staff, very busy at the desk, s because of corona of course.
Nice quiet library with good wifi (for a fee or with your subscription) and there are always fun activities on the agenda.
A library with 6 levels of great views, places to read and study and even an indoor Starbucks. The ground floor is open at 8, the other floors open later, at 10 if I'm not mistaken.
Extensive collection.
Many study places. Use of computers and internet for a small fee. Free rental of study rooms for library subscribers.
Various events. Free movie on Saturday afternoon.
Also open on Sundays during autumn-winter-spring.
A nice place to come.
Interesting building with great study spaces in a great location. But the experience of the building and its facilities is badly diminished by the lack of washroom facilities and by the 2,50 cost of the internet. Washrooms are not free, and there are only 2. During my visit, one of the washroom coin entry machines was broken, so it was closed, rather than granted free, meaning there were only a few toilets on one floor for the entire 6-floor building.
Public libraries around the world are free and open to all not just to residents. A day of studying here will cost as much as your lunch.
Lots of books available and friendly staff. You can study well here. During the exam period it can be very busy. Clean toilets available, they always have an exhibition on the ground floor and they regularly hold lectures on various topics. There is a special closed room for the children where they can playfully learn about books with their parents.
6th floor is closed. This was the perfect study space ... A real shame!
A great place to visit in the city even if you are not a bookworm! Go to the highest floor (6/F) and look out through glass building wall, especially during holiday season like X'mas, you can have the day and night view of Markthal and nearby church building for free! Their toilet fee rate is probably the lowest and cheaper than many other places nearby, even though it is not free! There is one "gated" sitting area on 2/F designated for families with young children visitors. Just check out that one side, you will find a wonderful collection of Dutch children books for all ages (some comes with CDs)! I also found a few book shelves holding children books printed in English closer to the lift side on 3/F for both pre-school kids and school aged children. Another surprising discovery on the floor, this library has children books in Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, Turkish and something I can't recall! I did explore other floors but I could only figure out a few categories in Dutch. If you want to use their wifi connection, you must be either a member, or simply buy an one day pass for that purpose. I have enjoyed very much the current Erasmus Experience exhibition too, which is free of charge to the public! As for my disappointment to this library, I found only a couple cookbooks written in the language that I could read. I know it is a local library, but there are so many English speaking residents in Rotterdam and I think a good amount of adult English books should also be available in non-fiction categories, like health, life science, home economy, hobbies etc. Too bad that I don't read fictions at all but there are plenty of fictions in English on one floor. The membership fees have gone up with less benefit for individuals and family in 2017, although it is still free for children under 18. It is interesting to know that you can buy a 12 month membership at the highest rate to benefit no late fees on the return of your late loaned items!
A very important part of Rotterdam as far as I am concerned. Also a nice place to get together, so I am now following an interesting meeting. So that through things they have too.
