The library, an area of peace and intimacy. Although you can also indulge in conviviality. Despite respectful approach to good Covid practices19. Protect us and others, an indispensable civic sense. Good opening / study / breakcoffe

Large multimedia library with open shelves, organizes numerous cultural events, a beautiful place to read, listen to music, watch movies and meet people. Up to 10 books on loan a month. It is inside Palazzo Santa Margherita, with an event hall, a cloister, the Civic Gallery and the Museum of Figurine. One of the nerve centers of culture in Modena.
I love the library in fact as soon as I can I go there as in half an hour I go there, only sometimes I find it hard to find places and there are people talking loudly inside the library
Excellent library, well managed with competent though not particularly friendly staff. Bicycle thieves have been operating undisturbed for many years so I necessarily recommend attention. The cameras are not oriented on the parking lot which, moreover, has been moved to a secluded area.
The dolphin library is always top notch. Well organized, social distancing is respected and then there are often new releases available. The departments are also divided by genre: mystery, fiction, non-fiction. One of my favorite places in Modena!
My place of worship for years and years ... Considerable availability of books, periodicals, tourist guides and CDs and DVDs of music and films. Numerous workstations for connecting computers, even if the request unfortunately often exceeds the offer. Beautiful spaces to read a newspaper or browse, indecisively, a book. The staff is precise, prompt and courteous and leaves no unanswered requests. Cozy place, cool in summer and warm in winter, I wish you could never close!
Well-stocked library and very friendly staff. Never had any problems, never met employees or employees who were not polite or even contemptuous. The only drawback is the rudeness of certain users of all ages with the mobile phone ringing or speaking loudly. More incisive action on the part of the staff would be necessary, which seems to me too tolerant
Beautiful library large enough and equipped with everything needed to learn the magic of reading, staff always available and kind, outside in Piazzale Margherita there is also a bar where you can take a break from studying or reading.
The library is well stocked. I often go there and sometimes I buy the stall books. The only drawback consists of an ungrateful employee who often turns sarcastically to not say really rude. Making this report costs me a lot but today it made me really nervous. Being a much more courteous person than others, to avoid telling her what she deserved, I answered her very politely and left. But the lady I'm sorry to say it should, to work in contact with people, change absolutely ways or stay home to cook for her husband.
Excellent library, certainly much more stocked than the others in the city. The location is certainly favorable as it is in the center and is an immense resource for students of varying degrees and fields of study!
What can I say, just a few words. Since I was in Modena it has become the most intimate place for me, which I love to be with myself and to be able to find what gives me lifeblood. Reading.
Main civic library to serve the city. Even if you are not a local and do not intend to borrow a book, I recommend a visit to see the cloister, the stand of used books and especially the upper room, where you can observe a curious use of shelving as load-bearing elements and furniture , which together with the catwalks, form the functional part of the room. Unfortunately, this solution does not leave a particularly comfortable space for study, as the tables are few and you are easily distracted by users who pass all around. If you are looking for a quiet place I recommend the Medical Library at the basement of the University of Medicine or the reading room "Poletti" at the Civic Museums in Largo Sant'Agostino.
The right place to find silence and concentration. Upstairs there is a large area where you can position yourself with a PC and work / study in peace. Well stocked bar WiFi throughout the area
I really like the dolphin library is my favorite place to read only that I took a book called "a midsummer night's dream" but then I saw the first page shoot look and I have to return it on March 6 I don't know if I should point this out to the ticket office
The reading room adjacent to the entrance is impractical due to bivouacs of non-EU citizens who do not leave the place to those who want to read because they must sleep, eat, or do other things disturbing the public. The staff repeatedly warned pretends nothing.
I find this library fantastic. Starting from the entrance, a welcoming, relaxing cloister, where you can rest between a book and another, complete with a bar and low walls to sit on which is very college. After crossing this you find yourself entering the actual library, 3 levels of wisdom among the many books of all kinds, from literature to novels, from comics to university books; divided into rooms such as a classroom where you can see a film (chosen among the many provided) on the stands with headphones, another where you can listen to good music, also you can choose from the large collection offered. Inside the building we find many tables where you can study, read, stay at your PC or use those provided. Wifi is also available, which, alas, is not perfect due to poor coverage. Also not to be underestimated is the location that is right in the center of the city, a pity that for this reason the parking lots are paid. I will not review the loan service because I have never used it, so I will leave this part to others or if I try it I will return to write.
Fantastic library; my favourite in Modena. The collection is great and the building is nice to admire as well (particularly the upper floors, where you can study with a view of a sea of bookshelces). It's quiet and cosy for revision, but I always find myself drawn by the multimedia collection...
There is often confusion. Sometimes too full. Colleagues chat with each other. Frequented by many children who speak disturbing the silence. People forget to turn off the phone. The people who work there mess up talking to customers and using their walkie-talkies. I happened to find "dirty" as soon as I entered at 9.30 in the morning. The only nice thing that even on Saturdays is open until 20.00. Uncomfortable opening at 2.30 pm on Monday, he found it senseless. Conclusion: you can't always study because there is confusion 90% of the time and time.
The largest public library in Modena, well-stocked, well-wired and with exposed shelves to the Nordic, with an output filter only. Friendly and courteous staff.
Large library, well stocked and with various workstations for the study. There are books of different disciplines: science, art, history, administration ... A rental service or use of audio and audiovisual material is also available.
A bit noisy at times, Wi-Fi coverage that leaves something to be desired, it has few places for those who want to study so it fills up quickly. On the other hand it is "socially" less oppressive than other libraries, with the beautiful cloister at the entrance.
It is a good library with a significant number of works. Unfortunately part of these are on deposit in the so-called Torre (an automatic warehouse) which has the bad characteristic of being out of order very often. The service would be discreet but it is not very logically organized: most of the work is carried out from the loan point, including the boring user card issues, creators of legendary queues, while the other workstations certainly do not burst from work. Finally, the real joke is the so-called purchase suggestions. In my case, always rejected with really folkloric reasons, I asked myself what their overall acceptance percentage is. I'd be curious to know the answer. Like many other services in the municipality it is a good service but, in my opinion, very self-referential.
My favorite library in Modena, I often go there to study. Many seats (even if they are never enough given the high turnout), free wifi connection, sockets for electronic devices and reading light above the central stations. I use the loan service a little but it works well, now it can also be done automatically with an electronic device at the entrance. There is also a stall of used books at bargain prices, even in a foreign language (even at 50 cents - 1 euro). The main flaw of the library is that you have to go and take a seat early, both in the morning and in the early afternoon, since there are many students who go to study there. If you arrive later there is often the risk of not finding a place and having to wait or leave. Finally, the cloister outside the library and the attached bar are very nice and relaxing, with good coffee and pastas for a break and also wanting sandwiches for lunch (possibility to sit both inside and outside). The Delfini library is easily accessible by public transport, in particular with lines 11 and 7A, and is not far from the train station either. A little more complicated is with the car, considering the scarcity of the parking lot and the fact that it is located (albeit slightly) in the ZTL area.
Positive aspects: fully computerized delivery and pick-up, so queues are cleared. Negatives: the alphabetical order does not allow the search by topics (eg biographies, historians, etc.), while some sectors (detective stories, non-fiction, travel) are separate. It is no longer possible to sit down (the staff who no longer do the reception could not periodically sanitize the armchairs ??).
Good books heritage: service lately in decline, confusion, dirt, lost books and lost books more and more frequent, app. impractical and never updated (uncomfortable and obsolete). Too bad one of the most frequented city library is wasting, but now culture, with the mayor Muzzarelli is bound to the margins; small example: we made ourselves "snatch" the most important event, the TENTH anniversary of one of the excellences of Modena, Luciano Pavarotti; and none of the administration apologized or seriously explained this cultural, tourist loss for the whole city. Hopefully sooner or later they will understand and re-evaluate the importance of culture for this city ... now in disarray, abandoned and mocked by an inconclusive policy: sick of ads (the sign of the times!).
Library well supplied. Large spaces and an ideal place to immerse yourself in reading and / or studying. The wifi covers the whole area. Well-stocked boys department. If you want to take a break between a reading and the other just outside the library you will find the bar.
Today it is absolutely not explained how a central library like Delfini did not give opening communications or not on 24/4/2017 when it is not a holiday !!
I like this place ..... Only that the slightly older kids can't go to the places for adults to study and that there is a librarian who doesn't leave them ..... Pk always says ... And this librarian is with the fringe
