Let me just say, Chuck was AMAZING!! Chuck was referred to me by a friend in which he and his family had used him multiple times in the past with great results .I had been having difficulties selling my condo and Chuck gave me a few ideas for staging which helped significantly. I worked with Doug Stachowiak on two separate deals. The first was our first condo purchase (with all the stress and education necessary for a first homebuyer) and then two years later when we sold that condo and purchased our current condo, both in the West Loop. Doug is calm, very knowledgeable, extremely patient and overall my husband and I knew Doug was sincerely looking out for our best interest.
During our first home search, Doug must have taken us to 30 showings, at least. He was patient and helped us through the many processes (pre-approval, search, making an offer, negotiations, contract, inspections, loan approval, closing). He was flexible, diligent, and professional, along with genuinely personable. He is well connected, and helped us find the partners to get us through the process; he even gave us a handyman referral months (maybe years?) after we moved in.
When it came time for us to move, we didn't hesitate to call Doug to help us through the even more complicated process of both selling and buying at the same time. Buying a new home is never easy, especially when one is buying from out of state and have many requirements. But, Doug Stachowiak helped me to find my beautiful home in River North. Flying in from NYC for 8 hours for the specific purpose of finding a home, Doug was extremely patient and showed me 18 condos that met my needs and budget. I bought my place the following day. But more, because I am from out of state and still had to close on my NYC/Brooklyn House, he was in contact with the sellers to assure them that by the contract date, I would be able to close; he found me a fantastic lawyer who can do the closing in my absence; advised me on which neighborhood is best suited for me (I don't know Chicago at all); and arranged to meet me on Father's Day to give me my keys when I arrived! Chuck is a good guy and will not steer you wrong. Me and my wife have been through it all with agents and companies. It was getting pretty tough to stay where we were, but we were not sure where we wanted to move. We had almost given up our Chicago home search, and decided to call up our apt agent (insert Chuck). Poor guy, he soon learned that he had to turn talk show host to get us to agree on a property. He demystified everything. We saw over 50 properties in a matter of 6 months. Each time, he let each of us know the salient pros/cons of the property. Chuck even set up showings at a few amazingly unique locations (read...I probably should have known better...memories not forgotten).
In the end, we found a great compromise. The unit is not exactly where I wanted, not exactly what my wife wanted, but is exactly what we both needed. If you want a real estate agent that will help you check off all of the right realistic boxes, Best Chicago Properties is the right place to start. 1 word - Chuck! About 6 months ago we started a search for a condo in the River North or Old Town areas. Chuck met with us, got to know us and helped direct us to place that met both our needs and personalities. He was absolutely terrific in helping us through 2 offers before we finally landed on the 3rd place we bid on. He never pressured us but was always responsive when we had a question.
