I was in the BG Clinic from November 8th, 2019 to December 10th, 2019 with degrees 2B scalds. Before at the family doctor, then emergency room UKE. After 3 hours of waiting 2 doctors came and said I had to go to the special department. However, this was not in the UKE, but in Boberg. So I waited an hour for the KTW and then drove across Hamburg.
3 days of BV Intensive (BV = burns) were almost like in a luxury hotel if the whole cable hadn't been there.
Then for a little over 4 weeks to the "normal" BV station. Double room with a somewhat annoying neighbor.
In between two operations (first an abscess was removed, then skin grafting).
But the staff (doctors, nurses) - apart from one - were very nice and competent. I also gave 20 for the coffee house and lost a bet about the date of my discharge with a carer. He predicted an earlier date and won. It was about a bag of Haribo, but I sent him a large Haribo box. Gaming debts are honor debts.
The hygiene bothered me. Only communal toilets where the pools were partially bled. A problem from the cleaning staff. They just wanted to finish quickly. Came when changing the dressing, breakfast or took the cloth with which they had previously cleaned the door handle, baseboard and window frame and then wiped the bedside table from which I later had to eat.
The floor was only wiped briefly and the shoes were pushed out of reach under the bed (no wiping under the bed).
If I had done such a job with the Bundeswehr, I would have been sure of a weekend service.
