Rad game store. I mean that in a totally modern, non 80's way! They've got all the newest boardgames. Well, not all, there's a lot out there, but they got some awesome stuff. RPGs more your thing? They got that too! Dice? Oh yeah. Way. Metal and plastic.

Used to frequent this place often when I lived in and near Berkeley. They moved locations about 1 year ago, and wow, this current location is so much better. Their choice of games is also unparalleled compared to many other game stores that I have been to. It was great to go back and see the new store.

Great store, selection and most of all... STAFF. I always have a great time in this store and the staff are so happy to help and answer questions. I always learn something when I visit this store

They get 1 star because they wouldn't even let an adult inside to buy something with an ice cream cone in-hand. I'd understand denying a flock of children. But a grown adult. Get out of here!

I really liked the atmosphere and the friendly players, but there was little events and merchandise of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. I hope in the future for games of Berkeley to host Yugioh tournaments more often.

It was amazing at its old location, but it's even bigger and better now! I have never visited a better games store. They have a huge selection and the friendliest, most knowledgeable staff. Whether you want the newest, trendy tabletop game or a classic like chess, they have what you're looking for.

Quality game shop with many different types of gaming in stocks. Its not a place you go for cheap games, but the variety and service make the price worth it. They also sell disk golf disks if you're looking to play.

Huge game store, lots of selection. Doesn t have quite the community vibe as some other game shops I ve been to, but if you re looking to purchase boardgames this is a great place to go.

They don't accept cash now. Seriously? Stop living in fear. They lost out on $300 of business because of it.

Found some great BluRay disks for cheap, they have consoles and computers and games.

Great selection and so happy to have a store like this that I can walk to in the community. Use it primarily for props and books for my tabletop RPG (D&D) campaign.

Their new location offers lots of space for their wide array of stock, but my biggest problem has always been with their staff. I've visited a few times, but only once has anyone ever asked me if I needed help finding anything after having spent 20+ minutes in the store. When I was ready to checkout, another employee who was ringing up someone else had to say to another that they should ring up my purchase. There were multiple employees hanging back behind the counter. Stock in the back is unorganized. I avoid having to visit this store unless they have something that my FLGS doesn't have immediately in stock.

The new place doesn't have the same vibe as the old store on Center and Shattuck, but it's still the OG gaming store for the east bay.

Love this place. I go to the free game night often, and buy my steel models here. Good quality materials, great games, and a super friendly staff.

Wide range of games, cards, science, knicks and knacks. A nerdy delight! Could spend hours in here. Staff was very knowledgable and ready to converse. Some board games had recommendation stickers from employees. Zany!

Can't believe I just found this place. I've been looking for jigsaw puzzles and they have a great selection. Big store with lots of different kinds of games for a wide range of ages and interests. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely return!

Can you say you will bring the child back out of you. Found games that bring back rainy days and board game memories. I found puzzle games for my son whos 2. Games for all ages as well as magnets for fridge.

There's just nowhere else like Games of Berkeley; there's something for everyone here. I came for the board game selection, of course, but there's roleplaying games, outdoor games, toys, books, classic games and more here. The selection is almost too large as I felt like I needed another day just to browse through it all. Will be back!

I absolutely love Games of Berkeley! They have a large selection of games to choose from with nearly every genre and type of game represented. I strongly recommend a visit to see for yourself how wonderful the store is.

It s ridiculous that they require toddlers under the age of two to wear masks, the current CDC recommendation is that toddlers under two should not wear masks due to the risk of suffocation.

Very large game store, my favorite part is right in the front of the shop they have local games on display.

Best place if you want a place to just play board games for a few hours

One of the longest running game stores in the bay area. It has a full selection of board games, card games, and role-playing games. The staff knows their stock. There are places to play games in back.

Super friendly local game store. Traditional games, so no video games here. But what they do have is tons and tons of nerdy goodness, from DnD to Magic: The Gathering to Warhammer and more. The staff is awesome: every single one is more than willing to give advice or to teach you about the games that you're interested in. The events I've been to have all been a blast, and I'm finding myself spending more time here than any other game store in the Bay Area. The clientele is awesome too: there's often the worry that a game shop just has a bunch of sweaty nerds in a dimly lit room, but every person I've met here has been friendly and cheerful. It's a fantastic place to spend a few hours.

I've been coming to Games of Berkeley since it was in a smaller space on Addison. For over 30 years, it's been my favorite game store, and the current staff is all manner of awesome.

this place has definitely improved since relocating. though the eerie charm of its former quasi-dungeon setting is lost, the store now benefits from better lighting, wider aisles, more efficient displays and, truthfully, a better location. selection is decent and the gaming space is ample. recommended for tabletoppers, puzzle enthusiasts and anyone looking to trying new in the world of social gathering that doesn't involve weed or VR headgear.

This is really an amazing store and totally great and selection of games is massive and staff is very knowledgeable and eager to help you anything you want.

Nice, clean, and spacious. Compared to my local game shop, the employees kept to themselves, which I dont mind, but if I were new to hobby gaming, a little help would be nice. That said, I went early, and i dont expect anyone to be super overly friendly in the morning anyways. Overall the selection of games was nice and differed from my game shop, so it was worth the trip.

Good environment for people who are learning. A range of games for you to buy ( or play in the back if you so choose ). Has a variety of trading card games. From magic the gathering to FiNal fantasy the card game (which apparently does exist). And this place carries a lot of multi player games and a selection of single player as well. Good price. Overall a good place for all

Games of Berkeley is excellent. I've been to many many game shops in many states and cities. This one had a large and great selection of games. There are nightly social events and the workers were friendly. Would recommend as a fellow board-gamer.

Local legend for a reason! An insane collection of casual, card, board, kids, strategy and tabletop games curated by a super friendly and knowledgeable staff!

HUGE selection of games, puzzles and supplies. I really love this new(ish) location! I lived outside of the bay area for a few years and was bummed to see that the original location was closed, I was happily surprised when I saw that the store had actually moved and not just closed down.

My main purchases there are for 40k models and RPG's, kids love the puzzles, and a great place to find gifts!

Don't be in a hurry when you visit here. Games of every shape, size and price. Helpful, but not over-helpful, staff is ready to answer any questions you've got. Bonus: good music was playing as we browsed, enhancing the experience.
