Benoure Plumbing and Heating Review

Called after hours for a central air issue. Benoure s is the original installer, but apparently after warranty is over they could care less. Was told basically I was sol because central air is not an emergency. Understandable, but I was willing to pay the on call rate and wasn t asking for miracles. The technician was inflexible with scheduling an appointment. He said he would not show that evening. Ok, no problem, but when I told him I had to work the next day, he was unwilling to narrow down on a timeframe. Told me he wanted to enjoy the weekend . By far the worst customer experience I ve ever had. I ll be sure never to use their services nor will I ever buy a house from a builder that uses their services (Sheppard builders) Don t worry, it s only supposed to be 100 degrees for the next week. Thanks!!

A neighbor recommended Benoures to us to install a natural gas boiler/water heater combination unit. I had no prior knowledge of this company. Chris and his team did fantastic work! Work was completed on time. They graciously answered any questions I had. I asked if they would be willing to hook up a new gas range while they were here and how much they would charge. They did it for free since they were already here for the other work. They even offered to move the old one into my garage for me. They really went above and beyond of what I was expecting. I would 100% recommend this company to friends and family!

I love Benoure Plumbing and Heating...I've been doing business with them for over 20 years and they have always been great to work with. Their employees are always friendly and professional. I've used them for both commercial and residential projects and they've always done excellent work.

We were left without heat and hot water when our NTI boiler went down in the middle of the night. We called quite a few HVAC companies and didn't even get a call back from most of them. We should have called Benoure first. A very nice lady answered the phone right away and sent a fantastic technician named Steve out within a few hours. Steve walked me through what was going on over the phone which I found really professional. He was able to troubleshoot the boiler and fix the issue in two hours. We are extremely satisfied with our experience from start to finish. We highly recommend Benoure Plumbing Heating and AC and look forward to using them in the future!

My hot water heater for my forced hot water system is shutting down and leaking but BENOURE will not find a way to schedule help for me, even on an emergency basis (extra charge would be fine with me). When I said this was a terrible business practice the receptionist hung up on me. Apparently it s rude to be concerned that your house might blow up or burn down. Go figure!

Excellent job, quality and clean installation. Went above and beyond by installing smart thermostat and an additional thermostat in basement. Left written instructions for me to mount a baseboard heater where I had not finished the wall yet. Everything looks super clean and working as expected. I'm happy with the new boiler installation. Price was also competitive with the others I reviewed.

A Benoure Plumbing van tailed me on Colchester Avenue when I was going above the speed limit. They were extremely close to my back end, and I was getting annoyed. When it realized it was stuck behind me in a left turn lane and I was turning left, without any warning it veered out into the right lane and drove right by me to get across the intersection. Unfortunately that was right as I was turning left,and because their van is a VAN and was huge and I was turning out, they almost hit me. I had to slam on the brakes and stop to let them take off. Completely astounded that Benoure Plumbing cares so little about the fact that they are walking advertisements, and everything they do everyone notices. Little did they know that I am about to renovate my bathroom, and I will make sure to never use their plumbing services due to this experience. Maybe they should think about how they present themselves to others.

Andrew and Bobby were honest and clear about what they were doing whenever I asked questions. The work was clean and done quickly. Thank you!

Our heat isn't working in the middle of the winter. My mother who is the account holder who also lives downstairs is out of the country. Benoure said sorry we have to talk to her. Which I get, but it's the middle of winter? COME ON.

UPDATES:

Thursday (minus below zero night): Benoure won't talk to me because my mother didn't give permission. (As if I would be calling for service as a stranger).

Friday (below freezing): Permission granted, but no one available to service Geothermal today, have to wait for availability on Monday. They only have 2 technicians. Was given a number for someone else to service. A former employee of Benoure named Chris (He wasn't available until Tuesday). (Also have to wonder why he quit).

Monday (finally warmed up): Called Benoure at 8:00 am. Still no Geothermal tech available. They said, "We only have 1 tech, didn't we give you a number for Chris?" When I complained about the inconsistent information I got transferred to an answering machine.

Why Benoure? Why?
Why did you tell me Monday while I wait without heat all weekend, when you knew there would be no one Monday? Just thought you'd pass the buck to your former employee?

refused to come to the job since we are not regular customers ?? wow.. I rarely meet a company that has too many customers, for life..

I drive by one of their vans every day on my way to work and it's always driving recklessly. Today it nearly ran me off the road. If they do business the same way they commute, stay far away from these people.

Four weeks ago today I was promised an estimate for a new propane heating system. The service rep, Jeff, said I would have it the following Monday or Tuesday. Well, I am still waiting for the estimate. This delay tells me Benoure isn't too interested in my business. It also makes me wonder how good their service would be. End result, I will not use Benoure nor will I recommend them to other people.

In particular, Karen who answers the phone is incredible. She is very honest, responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. She answers all of my questions with confidence and if she doesn't know the answer right away, she tells me and then calls me back asap to give me the information. John is awesome, too. I have the utmost confidence that Benoure can take care of what we need after I've had a conversation with Karen and/or John. They are the best.

John was not only early, he was courteous, informative, fast and thorough. He could come to our house any time we need service.

Waking up with no heat and hot water I called Benoure. They were polite courteous and reassured me that they would help me and fix the problem. Karen who answered the phone said we ve got you I felt so relieved and comforted knowing that tonight I would have heat and hot water. I can t say enough of their prompt attention and reassuring me. I would recommend them to everybody. Steve came over and was so knowledgeable polite friendly and got my furnace up and working. Steve you are the best !!!

This comment is directed primarily toward the excellent work done by Kyler, with the Benoure Service Team. Unfortunately we have had a terrible experience with a boiler installed by Benoure--the boiler is trash, but in general, I have been pleased by the response of the service team to our regrettably frequent calls for boiler trouble. Specifically, Kyler came over today, and was great--informative, very knowledgeable, and fixed the problem. A real professional.

Benoure Plumbing & Heating came to our rescue to swap out our old leaking furnace/water heater with an energy efficient combination boiler/DHW very promptly and professionally. Jeff (of Benoure Plumbing) came to our house the next day after asking for an estimate and set up an install date quickly and professionally. The installation of the fabulous new device was done by Rob and Ryan and were very knowledgeable and again, professional. I highly recommend Benoure Plumbing and Heating for anyone in need of such service!

Tim M. did a great job installing our new kitchen faucet. Professional, kind, on time, and efficient. We have also had positive experiences with Benoure in the past.

What a bunch of scammers! My hot water tank failed so I called Benoure and told the receptionist the problem and they sent a technician to check it out the next day. He confirmed that it needed replacement, and that he'd email me an estimate, which he did the following day. However, the estimate was just a blanket price for labor and parts and didn't tell me what they were charging for either, so I asked for an itemized estimate which detailed the cost of the tank, labor, etc. 3 days later and after 2 more emails I finally got it, and just as I suspected, these scammers were trying to charge me almost double the retail price of the tank! Double, as in one could buy the task themselves at home Depot for 1600 and they wanted to charge me 2900 for the tank.plus parts and labor.

I responded that I'd prefer to just buy the tank myself but that the price on labor and other parts seemed fine and would like to schedule the install....never heard back. I guess if they can't scam you they don't want your business. I've got a house hold with 5 kids and we've had no hot water for 10 days as these scumbags wasted a week trying to scam me.

Called last night about one of my heating zones not working and spoke to a tech that was very helpful. He gave me a temporary fix that was good for the night rather than coming out to fix it then at the emergency/after hours rate. I was looking forward to doing business with these folks based on my great experince with the tech over the phone. When the scheduler called the next day she said she couldn't find me in the system. I said I hadn't done business with them before. Her reply was sharply that they were having a hard enough time servicing their "existing" customers and to call Vermont Gas for a recommendation. I half thought she was kidding but quickly realized she was not. I wound up fixing it myself but really?...is our economy that good all of a sudden that businesses can turn away customers? Wow, good for them that they are doing that good I suppose.

I have had nothing but excellent service from Benoure. They did our new construction and have taken care of everything since then. Everyone in the company I have dealt with is stand up, straight up.

I have used Benoure's as my sole plumbing and heating source for 15 + years. The crew is courteous and professional. For example Tim M recently replaced a bathroom sink drain and adjusted the faucet water pressure. He double checked everything for a proper install including any signs of leaks. He left the area the way he found it clean as a whistle.
I have always had great success using Benoure's and would recommend to everyone I know.

Similar experience to many here. In the past, they were great, but not anymore. I needed service on a pump system they had installed. The service made the system overflow. Another plumber looked at it and said it would never work they way it was set up (charge: $0). I was charged for the return visit to undo the fix they made (meanwhile, I couldn't do laundry). My calls were never returned. Finally, I was told by their customer service person that I "should never call them back for work" when I disputed the charge. No problem on my part.

Woke up to our house being 55 degrees on Sunday. Contacted Benoure and within a half hour the problem was fixed. The tech called and guided me through a quick checklist of diagnostics, found the problem and fixed it over the phone so he did not have to make a house call. Overall a very good experience: professional, courteous and a quick resolution to my problems. Thanks!

THEY were both fantastic and very helpful. They both gave me additional information. This is the only company I will work with during my time. Even the secretary was helpful and she did as she said she would. Great service keep it up.

I have been very happy with everyone at Benoure's. I have had trouble with my old furnace, and they have always come quickly to service it. The technicians, John, and Steve, are professional and skillful. Crystal and Karen who work in the office are helpful and pleasant to work with. I have also worked with Robbie in sales and he answered all my questions clearly.
I ended up buying a new furnace and heat pump from Benoure's. The installation went well, and I appreciated the time Chris took to answer all my questions. Thanks to everyone at Benoure's.

They were very responsive and sent someone over on the same day our boiler stopped working. Steve from Benoure was super helpful and not only got the boiler back running, but also fixed our thermostats, installed a new thermostat, and fixed a leak on our boiler (none of which caused the original issue).

Spent 5000 dollars with these guys on a natural gas furnace and installation. They did a serviceable job but their customer service is terrible. I called the other day because my furnace wasnt turning on and just wanted to talk to someone to troubleshoot. The girl that answered the phone sounded annoyed, put me on hold, and then took my number to have someone call me back. No one called me back and I needed my furnace up and running due to slightly cooler temps and a 3 day old baby in the house. Businesses would have a much easier time if they had knowledgeable people answering the phone. I ended up calling Melody Electric because the problem seemed to be with the GFI on the furnace and I got a friendly voice who actually wanted to help and actually knew something. Turned out the GFI had gone faulty and was a quick fix but no thanks to Benoure's.

I work in residential and commerial installations and we would never treat paying customers like this if they called with questions. Ive met a few Benoures guys on commercial sites and they seem like good dudes but their customer service sucks, especially when I was an actual previous customer! Its clear their years in the community keeps repeat business but I'll never go back or recommend.

I ve been a client of Benoure Plumbing for almost 20 years and have never had an issue with their service, their responsiveness, or their work. The techs are great. They are knowledgeable, reliable, and always courteous when in my home. When we built 5 years ago, Benoure installed all the plumbing and HVAC systems and spent time with us choosing the proper fixtures for our new homes needs and recommending items to improve our everyday living.

We have always been happy as Benoure Plumbing customers and will continue to support their business in the future.

A horrible experience! Several years ago I spent thousands of dollars to put in a furnace that has continually broken down on a regular basis. When it needed fixing Benoure continually said they could not come fix it. Last year it was going to be a 3 week wait when I had no heat and no hot water. I said "so what I am hearing is call someone else" and they said yes. This year after it broke down yet again, I am now spending thousands more to essentially replace the terrible job Benoure did.

I m so pleased with my experience with Benoure! I needed some help installing a gas dryer and Steve from Benoure was friendly, efficient, and skilled. He made the process smooth and I knew my dryer was in good hands. I will definitely use their services again in the future!

I can no longer recommend them. I think they used to be good. We've used them for years like cleaning furnace. The last 2 times they've charged us for 2 hours of labor even when the tech leaves for a part "he doesn't have in the truck" and it only takes them 1 hour to do the work.

Steve got the work done installing a new humidifier on our heating system. He took the time to show me how to change settings and gave me good advice about humidity levels in my home.

We ve been using Benoure for all our plumbing and heating for the past 6 years. They ve been great. Every technician that has come here has been professional and knowledgeable, and we ve had a few emergency calls in the past which they ve responded to immediately. We recently had a new boiler installed, and the whole process was handled smoothly and professionally, from the quote from Robbie to the install done by Andrew, Bobbie, Nathaniel and their team. Good group of people that take pride in their work.
They seem to be pretty busy at times which requires booking out, but I d rather wait for quality service, especially since as I mentioned they ve always responded promptly when needed.

The service technician for Benoure Plumbing came this morning to repair my radiant heating system. He said it would be one of two things and it was. He found it and had it working in no time. He was patient, methodical and thorough. I could not be happier!

My wife and I had Benoure's install heat pumps at our house. When I asked for a quote, they were very quick to respond and very reasonably priced. The sales and service team were great. Very responsive to all our questions and did a very professional job. I was worried about having lines outside of my house, but Benoure's made them look great, and they blend right in with the house. Professional work and great people to work with. I highly recommend them for any project.

I had what seemed like a very sexist experience with this company. Benoure came to my place of work to fix something, and when the plumber came into the room I asked him if I could help him with anything- he completely brushed me off and went to one of my male coworkers to get the information he needed. Very disappointing.

Karen was very quick and got me an appointment asap. Tim was my tech and he did it quick and did a great job. I also loved that my dogs loved him. LOL.

Benoure did all the work when we built our house approximately six years ago. They did not stand behind their work in any respect. They had installed drain pipes with holes in them. The leaks didn t show up for years. They didn t want to take any responsibility.They screwed up multiple aspects of the furnace installation. Bits and pieces of it has been fixed every time a different technician comes into the house. The most recent situation what is the most galling. We have an entire house humidification system. In the original install they ran the gas line right in front of it so it could not be serviced. We ve had their technicians in the service the furnace every year for six years. Only this year did they admit that it was wrong and point out that the humidifier would likely fail early if it wasn t cleaned. There was then confusion on the date they were supposed to show up, I believe they came a week early. Now they are billing almost $400! I would not recommend them for anything.

Benoures have installed a furnace for us plus many small plumbing jobs. They do quality work.
The service people are knowledgeable and polite. Today they did a small plumbing job, Tim was very polite, explained what he did and why.

Very Bad company. First of all, they will sell you overpriced equipment. Secondly, if you ever need them to service their badly installed item, they will not help in any way without charging you more. The customer service females or receptionists, whatever you want to call them, are very rude and difficult to deal with. Just avoid them. Buy your equipment elsewhere.

Steve was the technician who came to repair my combo heating/hot water system. He seemed very knowledgeable and efficient, answered my questions, and fixed the problem! I appreciate his expertise and his good communication.

I should have read the reviews first before calling BPH. The technician arrived on 4/4/18 to fix a problem with our furnace not shutting off. Shortly after the technician left, the furnace began making a horn blowing sound. We called BPH and the technician came back the next day to fix. My complaint isn t with the repair or the technician s competency, but rather with the fact that I was charged the $125 minimum service charge for both visits! I feel the $125 fee for the second visit should have been waived. When I called the office to inquire about the double charge, I was told I needed to speak with Mike (owner?). Of course Mike wasn t available, so I left a message. In fact, I have left 3 messages to date with no response from Mike (it s been almost a month since the initial service visit). If BPH owners are too busy to respond to their customers, they should at least empower those that answer the phone with the ability to do more than transfer a call; otherwise, with customer service like this, BPH may soon find themselves with all kinds of time on their hands.
