The chef and waiter were great, great personalities. The food was good and the plane was a bit loud, but overall, a good time. The bathrooms were a bit sketchy- only two stalls and one was broken.

Let me just say! I ve been to multiple Benihana s and this location was a disappointment. The soup was barley warm and the salad was great per usual. The habachi chef was sweet and very understanding and assisted to our needs in every way he could. Lynn was the worst server. Who made our experience not so great. Ordered a non - alcoholic Mango pina colada beverage which was $6 and was charged $15 and when we went to dispute it the manager at the time was not supportive of our issue and did nothing to resolve it. Also, when he asked for a refill on our soda s we ordered she said what refills with such an attitude. She was also complaining about her coworker and how she was horrible. Our overall experience was not so great. But I can say our chef did an excellent job preparing the food. Not sure I d be back again. The chef is the only reason why I gave it two stars.

Always great. We always go to celebrate the children's birthday for lunch. They are always excited to go. The staff was excellent and our chief was spectacular, preforming all of the tricks and some new ones as well. We all had a great time. We can't wait until we go again. Just wanted to say thank you to all of the people that made our day even more special.

I had a very nice first experience at this Benihana location thanks to our chef, Devin. He was courteous, entertaining, and, most all, very professional. There was an obnoxious group at our table giving Devin a very hard time and through it all, he kept it together. He continued to focus on the task of giving great service, and thanks to him and the wait staff, we all had a delicious dinner and great experience.

Worst experience I've ever had. I made reservations for 8:00pm on a Tuesday .I got there 15minutes early so I could be seated on time I waited about an hour and 30 minutes to be seated . My drinks were terrible and food was sooo dry everyone at the table was so dissatisfied. Big disappointed and waste of time . I spoke to the manger all he had to say was sorry .Never again

Horrible combination or waiting for an hour to be seated for our reservation along with a terrible chef that barely interacted with us, the surprise birthday song sung as if at a funeral, rushed off our table and automatically charging 20% gratuity. Can't say the food made up for any of it either but I wasn't expecting it to.

My family and I are regular customers at Benihana s for several years and the way we were treated on my birthday with disgusting! We were a party of 7 and they added 3 more chairs to the table making it impossible to eat dinner and enjoy it comfortably. I spoke with the Manger Vald and he said we are sitting 9-10 people per table. I explain to him that all other sorounding tables have 8 people and I think it was more of a racial profiling. After all these years we were never treated that way from the manager who knows us Houssain. Who is very pleasant. This manager who we have never seen before Vald needs better training and customer service skills.

I've enjoyed Benihanas before. But we were a large lunch group requesting to sit together. They had an area that had two semi circles, but didn't have anyone to fill the extra seats. They said they would light both grills, but only lit one, leaving us on the other side feeling mostly ignored. Also, they didn't offer one of their pictures. We were a nice bunch, tipped, etc. But I've seldom felt so ignored at a restaurant. AND they were painting the ladies room during dining hours, so we had to wait!

Very terrible service, I was there last Sunday , very very busy, took to long for make our food and for our drinks I asked for ice and they did not have any ice and they tried to serve and sell my cocktails without ice, was terrible dinner night for me. The whole place is very tiny and a lot of smoke all over this place.

Customer service with the host staff/front desk was bad. They were unorganized and didn't give clear instructions on what to do which made them unprofessional. I had a reservation but had to wait. They initially told us that someone would get us. So much time passed while we were just standing at the front waiting to be seated. Then they came back and asked how can they help me. There was no communication between the employees. We were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. But I've already been waiting 10-15 minutes. When we were called, an employee started to run up the stairs. No instruction was given to follow her to be seated. I asked if I should follow her and the front desk said yes. By this time that employee wasnt in sight. I told them we had to use the elevator because my friend couldn't do the stairs. I asked how would we know where to sit, will the person meet us at the elevator. Front desk was preoccupied so she didn't give instructions. We proceeded in the elevator which smelled like urine or an elevator that's in the subway. It smelled gross! Once upstairs things went smoother. Waiter was good and chef was good. Food and drinks were good. My initial experience of this place was bad. Luckily the service and food afterwards saved the day. For a large restaurant in the center of New York City, they should be more professional.

I've been to several benihana and this was by far my worst experience. The wait time was supposed to be 45 mins we waited over an hour. our server forgot things and brought the dishes out in the wrong order often have to be reminded two or three times of peoples drink or food orders. The chef did not season the food and burnt some of it. Save your money and go to a small local place in New York.

Benihana is a good and fun restaurant, but not in this location. I was once given shrimps that we re spoiled...it was also cooked spoiled. This means that the chefs and all other kitchen workers ignored the shrimps rotting smell. This is unacceptable, when a manager was addressed, all she did was remove the shrimp from my plate in front of other guest and took the shrimps of my bill! Also, reservations make no difference in this place, you set a time and the restaurants still makes you wait extremely long periods of time. By the time I was given my table my hunger was gone because I waited way too long. This happens very frequent in this location, beware of extreme wait times even with reservations.

The show is right!

The show is right!

Full, full of life and loud, insanely loud. Here the show is clearly in the foreground. From that it should be positively emphasized that the starter was extremely well made and combined. The main course convinced mainly by the quality of the products, in particular the butter-smooth beef fillet. Our cook was really entertaining, but the concept does not allow for real finesse in terms of taste. Therefore a slight deduction, but overall a nice experience.

However, you must seem to like children's birthdays and be able to withstand the volume, otherwise you should rather choose a day of the week.

Terrible service the waiter was lost on everything (nikalet), she gave no refills, gave me soup that was cold, gave no forks till the last second, kept forgetting everyone s orders, and when I asked for soy sauce twice I got it an hour later and then our chef (Richard) didn t know what everyone needed, (terrible communication between the two) took and hour too make the first half of our food, I was there for a total of 2 and a 1/2 hours and I canceled my food and it took her twenty minutes to get my change back, I go to the Benihana quite often this is my second time at this establishment and I will never go back there I ve never seen anything like this!!!

I made a reservation, still I had to wait more than 1 hour. Bad service. I forgot a backpack and they returned it without money (I was the last lo leave, and first to call, and returned it with bar attitude). Not good at all!

This place has all the trappings one would expect of the name and the style of cuisine: a good show, some good food and drinks, and a hip environment.

The food is not "Japanese," but Aoki's vision of Japanese food interpreted in a fashionable style of preparation. The show is as much fun as the food is presented to be.

Their yakisoba looks really good. We had the surf and turf and a couple of other items on the main menu.

The service is great, and they are kind. The cook at our table was engaging and talented.

Good place for family and friends.

Elegant location for a cozy or group lunch!

Elegant location for a cozy or group lunch!

Working close by, I've had occasions to come here for lunches with just one friend and also with many. Both types had no waiting and seating was good and the restaurant is decorated beautifully. For a quick meal, you can select from an assortment of daily specials that are all priced fairly. The bentos were delicious!

Teppanyaki, especially as a group, is still too fun: Legend has it, the chain no longer sends pieces of your meal flying to your mouth, because of a lawsuit. It was in the 90's, a chef flicked a shrimp to my friend's uncle who herniated his back trying to catch it in his mouth, as was tradition at the time. Sadly, he died on the operating table from complications and the family sued!

Story aside, the meal and show was great! (Only they don't flick the shrimps any more.)

It saddens me to say that compared to two years ago the quality of food has went down tremendously yet the price remains the same. I came there 2 years ago on new years eve and let me tell you, the food I received seriously lacked in comparison. The drinks and chef performance were still great but food wise this restaurant is not such a good choice anymore :/

Basically more like it than not

Basically more like it than not
I have not been in the tea restaurants yet, so I enjoyed the entertainment of cooking
Food was delicious served in turn (vegetables-rice-meat), so it was not necessary to sit hungry
At the end, my friends said that I had a birthday and I had an ice cream and sang "happy birthday" in two languages, which was also cute
The interior is also interesting, the muted light adds to the atmosphere

But
All chefs do the same tricks, so several times to walk and look at the same thing, probably not interesting. Of course, the chefs - Hindus or Mexicans, it would be more fun if they could find some Asian.
What's called a steak in them is a thin piece of meat, which is cut into non-wide strips while cooking. In addition, those stripes, as my girlfriend noticed, goes out to varying degrees of readiness - from the rear to the Vall Dan. Therefore it is difficult to name this steak
For dinner, 7 people paid $ 340, which is also not cheap
After dinner, we just brought the bill, not asking anything, not only hinted at us that just staying here will not work out, "the performance is over."

However, if you have not seen this before, then it's worth a visit

Horrible service. Not a place you want to go if you have other stuff planned in the day. Spent over 2 hours from start to finish. No deserts, drinks, or appetizers. Waiter tried to make us sing happy birthday to a woman, and was refusing to give us our check when asked.

Expect to wait at least 45 minutes to be seated, even if you have a reservation. The waiting area is small, loud, and will get crowded during busy times. If you have a coupon, try to remember to let your server know before placing your order.

Staff was friendly and we had a great cook. Our waitress managed to keep our drinks refilled in a timely manner. The food was great!

Why would you eat here when there are amazing options for Japanese cuisine all over this city? Well, because sometimes you just crave Americanized hibachi. It's great for a suburban craving, if you can ignore the lackluster cuisine and long wait times (even with reservations). It's a great place to go if you are missing the suburbs after busy city life and want to celebrate someone else's birthday.
