Very over priced, sizes only go to 14.. I suppose they think size 15 or over don't like the outdoors?? Rude..

Didn't have everything I wanted, but what they did have was good to excellent quality.

Great selection of hard parts/gear: This place has saved me a few times when "I need it today".
Staff is helpful and knowledgable. My only complaint is the fairly slim selection of men's clothing. I know they can order anything I need but as an impulse buyer that doesn't help me much.

I recently went in wanting to get a new multi-day backpack, even knowing the type of pack I wanted. The knowledgeable staff helped me learn the ins and outs of the pack and how to properly wear it as well. I highly recommend this store over ordering stuff online or even...*shudder* through REI. If price is a stumbling point as it was with me, they were able to match an online quote I had. They earned a loyal shopper.

They have all the outdoor needs covered, including poggies for winter kayaking. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The store is easy to browse and always clean.

Wonderful customer service from this local outdoors retailer that is not part of a large chain! I most recently went to purchase a new pair of hiking boots and was very happy with the service I received. I explained my needs, and tried on at least 5 pairs of boots. This store was way more knowledgeable about different features of boots than my last venture into a chain store. The little ramp they have in the store to mimic going downhill was very helpful.

Our family has bought several pairs of outdoor sandals, hiking shoes and hiking boots in hard-to-find larger sizes. Good selection of hiking socks. Good selection of shirts and tops.
It's tougher to find pants and shorts for tall, portly men (40+ inches waist, 34+ inseam, but they can order those products.
Also good for water filters, high end sleeping bags.

I've been in twice now once to look at ski boots and most recently for a ski coat and both experiences were great. Selections for both were limited as it's late in the season, but still plenty of great options. Joe was awesome and helped me find a great ski jacket. The other employees were great too! The store is big so you never feel crowded and everyone was wearing masks.

It was my first time visiting the store and I was going to browse. They didn t have the most extensive selection of each gear category, but they had a little of every category, which was nice. They had some osprey products I was looking at that REI has never carried. Big win there. Joe was awesome. Super knowledgeable, very nice, and no pressure on buying something. Prices seemed average for a gear store. Great place.

The men sent out to assemble my patio furniture were respectful of time and skillful in completing the task. And it was not a small task!

We have purchased many items from Benchmark over the years and have been very impressed by the service and knowledge of your staff. Never any rush to purchase, but highly informative. Have appreciated being steered away from items I did not need and guided through the purchase of some great hiking boots and a fabulous daypack. Will definitely be back for other purchases in the future.

Could not be more satisfied with custom ski boot fitting at Benchmark Outfitters in Cincinnati, Ohio. I had a great experience getting fitted ski boots at BO. Tyler is a true professional and literally I improved my skiing by getting me in the right boots and custom fitting them.
He scanned me on their computerized system and then showed me how each boot would fit for size AND skill level. Because of my wide feet Tyler recommended a Dalbello Pantera boot.

They felt good, so he thermal molded the liner and put in custom footpads. Now they were awesome, but I found a tear in the tongue that pressed on the top of my foot so Tyler replaced the liner in a few days and I SHREDDED Perfect North. Don't waste money at a resort on customer fitting. There was NO extra charge at BO and satisfaction is guaranteed. Take a look at the Fischer vaccum formed shells.

I've been to this store about four times in the last month (as well as other past visits), preparing for my first mountaineering trip. I needed to buy a lot of equipment I'm unfamiliar with and the employees walked me through every step. I appreciate their enthusiasm and knowledge; they were SO HELPFUL! Emily especially, she really took the time to explain everything in detail.

Tyler in the ski shop is great. I purchased ski bindings there not realizing my skis had been drilled too much for new bindings. Definitely did not expect to be out a pair of skis! But Tyler went above and beyond to make sure I had a pair for an upcoming ski trip. Lent some demos and even referred me to a competitor so I could find something. I 100% trusted he'd take care of me even despite the bad news of learning your skis are completely shot. Will def be going back for our next outdoor purchase! They'll make sure you're taken care of no matter what. Excellent customer service!

When my grandson made First Class in Boy Scouts we stopped at Benchmark to look for a backpack. I really thought we would just look and then go to one of the bigger outdoor stores in the area but, the service and knowledge of the sales staff was so good that we purchased backpack from Benchmark. We also received sizable discount for being a Boy Scout. We will certainly be coming again.

Bought a pair of boots to wear hiking a 2,800 m volcano in South America. They were really helpful and explained what I needed. I still wear the Icebreaker top they sold me seven years ago every fall/winter, and the boots they recommended were exactly what I needed.

Service is great especially when I was searching for the right hiking boot. They asked all the right questions regarding the type of hiking I was most likely to do and recommend a great boot which I really like. Also clothing selections are very nice.

I shopped at Benchmark one day for myself and found some items I wanted to get family members for Christmas. I bought something for my granddaughter and now whenever we go out I get a request to stop and see what is new. We have been there now a couple gtimes and left with some new clothing. The attention we receive is great and no pressure to buy from the staff. Every employee we have talked with has been pleasant and has made us feel comforatable to shop. Locally-owned business with a great selection and helpful staff. OK, all outdoor equipment and clothing seems to be over-priced; their prices are no worse than anywhere else, and they do have good sales (I've found some terrific boots on the clearance table). They also have some brands that you don't find elsewhere, such as Dale of Norway, in addition to the usual Patagonia, Kuhl, etc.

Staff was friendly from the minute I walked in the door every time I've been there. I even had an issue with a pair of shoes I bought after about a week and they were easy to work with on exchanging them. 100% recommend as customer service is top notch and knowledge of product lines is great.

I bought hiking shoes here. They are very knowledgeable and you don't feel any pressure to purchase. A great experience and I love my hiking shoes! Would highly recommend Benchmark Outdoor Outfitters.

Outstanding selection, service, and local to world knowledge on travel and adventure.

Its a nice little place, a lot like REI. Has a good selection of warmies, more on the high end and lots of good camping stuff. Various camping stoves for backpackers and climbing gear.

My husband and I just left the store and don t have enough good things to say. Every single staff member was knowledgeable and friendly. We are starting to get more serious about hiking and starting a section hike through the Appalachian so we needed all new gear. Multiple helped us and each one was full of helpful advice and suggestions. We were on our way to REI and happened to see a billboard for Benchmark Outfitters regarding a sale they re having so we decided to check it out without even going to REI. We are so happy we did, we not only saved a ton of money but we also supported a local business. We will never go anywhere else for our outdoor needs!

I been shopping Benchmark since the 80s and never been disappointed. They always have the gear I need and their staff are extremely knowledgeable about backpacking destinations near and far. My kids now shop at Benchmark.
