Danielle was a rockstar and was so fun to go to for my first trip to Bellus!

I always come to this place when I need a quick straighten. They are always professional and clean. Kathleen Drewry is such a doll and very detailed about the products. My hair is looking great!!!!

I chose Bellus Academy because of the intentional educators and the inspiring work done here. It's my second week and I have already learned so much! I'm so excited to see where this career will take me. #ichosebellus

After wanting to attend Bellus for almost 10 years, I became a cosmetology student at Bellus Academy. The school, students, and staff are all knowledgeable and incredibly passionate about the industry. The Poway location is beautiful and offers tons of services. I highly recommend it!

The training is excellent but they need rules for students to keep their language professional and eliminate ridiculous profanity. Let's see if the executive staff can improve this area and if students will sharpen this aspect.

My girlfriend referred me to Bellus because she's a regular customer. I was a bit nervous about the outcome when I went for my first visit but I had an absolutely perfect experience. There's nothing they could have done better! The women at the reception desk were super friendly, helpful and patient on my first visit. Danielle turned out to be a great match for my needs (tint touch-up and pedi). She was very professional, personable and super-efficient. Other people say procedures take a bit longer here but Danielle was speedy and careful with my colour and also gave me a great blow-out. And my pedi is beautiful. I'm looking forward to my second appointment with Danielle that's already been booked. The rates just cannot be beat and it felt like I could have been in a regular salon.

I've booked multiple treatments here, and I've loved them all! I've gotten hair cuts, massages, and facials here. My favorite treatment though has to be the massages. Super relaxing and just all-around amazing! :)

I am currently a cosmetology student at Bellus Academy. I am really enjoying the overall environment that it has so far and I am really looking forward to learning more and getting more experience in the future.

DO NOT go here for hair color or highlights/lowlights. Wanted to save some money so we elected to go here. The product was left in for hours and my wife's hair isn't only a horrible color, it's chemically fried beyond repair. She got there for a 530 pm appointment and didnt leave until 1040 pm. They made her pay before the service was even finished because the registers were closing. (BIG MISTAKE) I'm sure if you stick to the basic cut or nail treatment you will be fine, but don't make the same mistake as us. Look on Groupon for a local *Professional salon service and pay a little more for peace of mind. I (her husband) am disappointed beyond belief and feel horrible for even suggesting this option.

I ve wanted to do cosmetology for awhile so i toured my sophomore year of high school, as talking to other stylist I also toured Paul Mitchell, I decided Bellus because it was closer home and it felt more like a homey salon vs Paul Mitchell where it was really crowded and packed in. Coming here now I regret nothing! Small class sizes makes it easier to learn and the instructors really nice and care on how well you are doing. I highly recommend bellus academy!

I've been coming here for the past couple months for both hair cuts and highlights! And I love it every time. Mellyn miller always cuts it exactly how I want it and I am always pleased with it! Shes amazing! Steph started my process on going blonde with highlight session, so far I have done two sessions and I am extremely please with how it is turning out, can't wait for more! They are both so nice and always keep up conversation with me which makes it fun and never boring! The location is overall friendly and I always feel comfortable.

The day staff is amazing. I have been blessed with the best teachers for the estitician program. You are more than prepared for state board by the time you graduate. This is School is rated #1 in North America. I am so impressed with all the programs here. Nothing but the best comes out of this school.

I love the services at the Poway location! Everyone is super nice & helpful. I like that they listen to what I want and give me options. Especially when it comes to hair coloring & looking for ways to cover the grey hairs it does take longer for cut & color but I rather they take their time to do it right then rush for the next customer. GREAT SERVICE! The teacher was great and the student did very well, the wait wasnt too long either. My haircut was alittle difficult but they worked with my suggestions and the finished look was great!! First time here but will definitly be back!

The best beauty school ever!!! I've been a customer for over 5 years and I don't go anywhere else to get my hair done! Saves me money and I still get great service! I Love BELLUS I started a month ago and I'm learning from the Best teachers and staff are so helpful atmosphere is so professional . The instructor was rude and condescending....he wasn't following the line of cut I came in with it was a simple bang trim...when I said that is not the technique or way my hairdresser cuts...he said "We teach the right way," well she has done hair for over 30 years I just wasn't in the area at the time. He then said well if you aren't happy then go to your hairdresser..well of course I am..I just stopped in for convenience sake. He cut my bangs into a straight bang..not a curve on the side like I came in with..hew chopped it up...that grows back but his rudeness and sarcasm is not called for.

I chose Bellus because when I talked to the staff and administration they were so nice and helpful. They really seemed to know what they were doing and always ask if we need help. The school is amazing always hands on a lot of procedures we do, the students are also very nice and helpful and if you need help with something they are always there. I heard about bellus from an old friend that she came to bellus and she said it was amazing very hands on and super nice. I also chose it because when I took a tour everyone there was smiling and people have said bellus was the best choice they've made. So I decided to do the same.

My stylist was my friend Stephanie kang and she did an exquisite job on my balayage! Absolutely love how my hair turned out. I love the environment of bellus and everyone here is super nice. Definitely would recommend her and this place to my friends!

Im a student at this school and the teachers and students are all so helpful and kind. Its a fast paced learning environment but the classes are small enough that it s easy to follow along.

I went in yesturday to have my hair done and Rebecca did an amazing job! I was making some big changes and needed two all over dyes, highlights, and a cut. Rebecca was so kind and patient and took the time to truly know what I wanted from asking me questions to looking at my Pintrest. Not only did my hair turn out PERFECT, but Rebbecca's kind and loving energy made the whole experience of being there even better. She was very attentive always making sure I was comfortable and continuous checking if I needed food or water. From all the services I needed, I was there for quite a while and I had a blast talking to her the whole time!

I had a great time and my hair looked so good and I loved my hair dresser, she was so nice and very good at what she did and I love my new hair dresser as well

I called in a week ahead of time to set my appointment and they said it was confirmed. I go in on the day of my appointment and they never even scheduled it and said they're full for the day. Pretty annoyed.

Nice job done! Got a red balayage with Stephanie Kang and it wasn't choppy at all. The color is a bit vibrant but it'll fade after a while. It's professionally done! I'm impressed!

If you are considering attending this school, JUST DO IT! I am a student right now in the esthetics program and loving every second of it. All of the teachers here are beyond knowledgeable and passionate and it shows. I am only 2 months into my program and already feel comfortable and confident working with clients. I believe this place truly sets you up for a successful future and I'm proud to say, I made the right choice!

I chose Bellus based on how professional and welcoming the school was. I visited another school and didn t get any great vibes, just get you ready for state board and out. I ve also seen the work from students on their socials and was amazed by how well every one was doing. It gave me confidence to attend here and get my license.

I would not rate them at all if I could, My mother went to get her hair trimmed and A perm and mind you my mother has short hair and it has taken them seven hours to do her hair today and my mom is 91 years old sitting in that chair for seven hours is ridiculous I would not recommend this place nor will she ever go back there again

Truly top level beauty school : They listen to you and act as per your ask. They spend at list an hour For your haircut . Visited first time and and I would definitely suggest this place . It's cheap as well

I had my hair cut by Kelly C. at Bellus Academy in Poway and LOVE the cut. I have very curly and frizzy hair but she created a style for me that will work either with or without using my iron on it at home. The salon is beautiful and professionally run. In addition to the haircut, Kelly also gave me advice about products to use that will help control and care for my hair and give me the look I want. I will definitely be back for more!!

After 4 tries I finally have something closer to what I wanted. Yet still was forced to leave without getting a proper blow dry due to the fact the instructor was in a hurry to get me out even though there were people still washing out. Not once on the 4 did they blow dry my hair proper. The rushed me out of the door each time. Needs better instructors and students that want to be there. Hit or miss...more often miss for me. Not sure I will go back.

I am an older student at Bellus Academy, and I have been here a month. I have attended two other well-known schools in San Diego county and Bellus is simply a head above the rest. The reasons: the facility, professionalism, consistency, and instructors don't play favorites with students. If you have at least 90% attendance and 90% on all course work, you may be eligible for student services and able to act as models for students from other programs. Since the program includes Esthetics, master esthetics, luxury spa, cosmetology, barbering, massage, and make-up programs are amazing to be models for. Cosmetology students get an incredible well-rounded education including an externship with a salon and an incredible career services department that can help you with resumes and getting a job while in school and any time after. I recommend this school to anyone who is interested in a quality education and wants to emulate professionalism and will be okay with careful reputation focused on quality.

If you're looking to enroll at this school I highly recommend going somewhere else. I recently graduated from Bellus and this has by far been the worst school I've ever attended. The staff holds personal grudges against students, the staff are in competition with one another and argue in front of students, We have weekly meetings that are supposed to be about our school but this time is used to scold students who are adults. Some of the staff are poorly educated so students can't learn from them. Multiple students have problems with financial aid because there is a lack of communication and foundation within the department. Instructors vocally express that they don't care about students success because they already have their license. A student has brought a gun to school threatening another student, they have had to go on lock down, they now have to have security there, rumors of our school director being fired for sexual harrasment are some of the few topics that were not addressed to students by the staff. They don't provide the amount of products we need for our clients even though they make business off of our services we provide,on top of the tremendous amount of money we spend on tuition. Majority of the staff is between the ages of 25-30 which would make you think this school could be a mature and professional environment but it's not. I use to be proud to be a bellus student now Im warning people to stay away from this school. This is only some of the unfortunate events that go on at this school.

The bellus academy Poway campus blows my mind away, this school has so much to offer. I checked out all 3 campuses and fell in love with the Poway one immediately. I've been going to school here now for about 2 months and I love it so much, and always learning new things everyday!!!!!! #ichoosebellus

All of the instructors are really involved and helpful, they're also very patient with everyone and will help you with anything you need. The students are also very helpful with anything you need too!
