Kids love it, even the rain didn t dampen ur spirits! Go, take a picnic, give yourself a few hours, and enjoy!
A old local favourite but a little dated now. Feels like nothing has changed in 25 years
This is a great place to go see a bunch of abimals. Feeding times may vary. The food is reasonable and yummy! Very family friendly and easily accessible by bus
We are zoo peoples, we love it, as hood as some big zoo, some might don't like the hill...Thats all
Good selection of animals and different ways to engage children.
For one reason or another some of the animals stayed indoors and did not come out. You could not go into their houses to see them because of civil 19 which is understandable.
A nice zoo, however mind the slope of the terrain, which is challenging even for someone in a good shape.
We had a great day at the Zoo, only negatives were not enough staff in the cafeteria, and toilets need upgraded. But we enjoyed seeing the chimps and lions.
Was a great day out. The new baby bear was a great treat to watch. They've got a lot better at publishing the feeding times so you can plan where to be and when. Got to see them feeding the sun bears at the cafe, the seals and the Penguins. Highly recommended.
It was my first time at the zoo, There is plenty to see, children and adults of all ages will be entertained. The terrain is multi level, expect a bit of hill walking.
I had a great day at the historic zoo.
Could be better maintained, animals look very sad and miserable.
Not impressed reported 2 gits throwing stones at sleeping seals. Nothing done. Couldnt even find a keeper. Absolute diagrace. Wont be back.
First arrived urinals blocked, over 50% of enclosures no animals , wee kids can't see animals over hedges and place looks run down and animals look sad, not good
Steep walk, but is worth the effort. Animals do look very well looked after. Good variety of animals.
The zoo could do with a revamp it s not the most exciting zoo there is in the world and with it having steep hills it s not ideal for disabled users.
Nice small zoo, has some really good enclosures and animals look happy, recommended for families with children as there are plenty of talks throughout the day.
All uphill, high grounds, they'd make a fortune if they rented out buggie carts to cart around the zoo like in chiang Mai zoo Get comfortable shoes on! Lovely zoo I thought! Was very quiet the day I went! When all kids are in school. Worth the visit, plus belfast castle is 5 minute drive away and local shops!
My nephew's fave place. Some walking and hills involved though noticed very recently they are providing a driver and electric, open sided, people carrier type buggy. Great playpark. Animals will be animals, sometimes they're up close and active or sometimes sleeping. Giraffes, elephants and tigers are our faves but those chimpanzees - cheeky monkeys. Great day out
Brill zoo aswell as park and lovely surroundings for a picnic.
I have visited this zoo many times, if your an animal lover like myself this is a must go, although the cleanliness of some the animals' facilities are in need of some updating or a good clean. Part from that it's a lovely day out for everyone.
More animals than Dublin zoo. U actually can see them. But extremely hilly
Very nice and calm environment. Enjoyed time with animals
Good fun was had today but the wee train that used to take you around wasn't there. It's a hard walk for a 4 year old
More of a hike then a zoo. Eating is at the top or bottom of the large hills so choose wise what time you eat. Don't recommend if you have small children all enclosures are over stomach height so you will have to carry them round to see the animals( we went with a double pram and had to get them out for everyone but couldn't keep them out cause of the size of the hills). Food is good price and there are plenty of picnic places.
Well routed one way system and thay appear to have used the closure to do some work. Gleaming clean screens to view through best improvement.
Xmas event at the zoo fab!! Will be making this an annual trip now!!
Brilliant visit once or twice a year with my family my 4year loves it would be a sin if it was ever to be closed down.
Ive never seen the bepfast zoo look so good
March2018
Wonderful place to spend a time with family and friends,
Great zoo, a lot of step hills but the view is worth it. Also got a make over for the play park
My family thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There's lots to see and it's easy to navigate. We loved having our picture taken in front of the green screen and the staff were very friendly.
60% of enclosures empty, very busy & overly expensive. Save your money for Dublin Zoo or burn it instead
A very nice day out, pushing a baby trolly is not a good idea if you want to enjoy your visit.
The Zoo contains a decent range of animals.
I loved the birds section a lot
The zoo is built on the side of a steep hill, not ideal for wheelchairs or buggies or young kids, the zoo has done so good work with breeding but needs serious investment for the animal enclosures as they are not very nice
Fantastic family service great place for your family
Great day out. Quite reasonable to eat there all home cooked. Value for money
Wery disappointed. Last time when I visited was brilliant. This time not as good as last time. Lots of animals was gone.
The animals looked fed up hey where just sitting there as if 2 say get me out of here
The zoo is in dire need of attention. There are a lot of Empty exhibits and I was distressed to see the two elephants exhibiting disturbing stress behaviour. All in all it was extremely disappointing and we saw very few animals. It is insulting to pay quite a high entrance fee and not be able to see much. It would be a worthwhile exercise for the staff and management to visit Dublin zoo and see how it should be done. We were there at 9.30am on Easter Saturday and saw too many animals to mention. The zoo was very well run and the animals all appeared happy, I could not say the same for Belfast.
Well maintained zoo and you can watch various species overhere closely. Good for kids.
Got there early- had a fab view of all the animals. Wear comfy shoes !
World class zoo. Really helpful and informative staff. A great day out. Many rare and endangered species
Pretty nice experience. Advice: Wear your trekking shoes. Expect long walks up the hill.
Great way to keep fit. Towards the top more seating areas would help. Parking brilliant.
just left, had so much fun looking at the animals and took a few pictures, recommend
Very well mapped out animals very easy see well worth a visit
Loved it! They have an aviary with fruit bats which was a highlight for me.
Love it and with c19 at the moment the zoo was running well for the people to be free to go about and enjoy. My wee grandson first time there and he loved it. And me too
Great day out. Informative staff. Loved the feeding times.
Set on a steep hill so be mindful if you have wheelchairs/buggies or poor walkers
Great day out. Plenty for the kids to see and do. Excellent facilities. Warm and friendly staff
Love it here. Very hilly (not a negative for me). Food/drink as would be expected, expensive.
Lovely day out.
Just great day out loads animals see and they have very good park. Get lots exercise as very up hill .great shop also
Great staff
A good walk uphill
Can see a great selection of animals: from penguins to giraffes and sea lions
Right by cave hill so can hike up there too
Great students discount (50%)
Food isn't amazing though...
Great day at the zoo lovely dry day. Seen all the animals and watched them get feed.
Very expensive. The zoo is not well-groomed. There are a lot of visitors. Half of the animals we did not see, there were empty enclosures. Many animals cannot be seen since the therarium was also closed. The last time we were there with my family (10 years ago) was much better. It was more well-groomed.
We had a great day out. Quiet a few enclosures we went to unfortunately had no animals. But we did enjoy the visit today.
Very atmospheric, nicely located Zoo with a view of the city. Great place to walk.
