Was a great day out. The new baby bear was a great treat to watch. They've got a lot better at publishing the feeding times so you can plan where to be and when. Got to see them feeding the sun bears at the cafe, the seals and the Penguins. Highly recommended.

It was my first time at the zoo, There is plenty to see, children and adults of all ages will be entertained. The terrain is multi level, expect a bit of hill walking.

I had a great day at the historic zoo.

All uphill, high grounds, they'd make a fortune if they rented out buggie carts to cart around the zoo like in chiang Mai zoo Get comfortable shoes on! Lovely zoo I thought! Was very quiet the day I went! When all kids are in school. Worth the visit, plus belfast castle is 5 minute drive away and local shops!

My nephew's fave place. Some walking and hills involved though noticed very recently they are providing a driver and electric, open sided, people carrier type buggy. Great playpark. Animals will be animals, sometimes they're up close and active or sometimes sleeping. Giraffes, elephants and tigers are our faves but those chimpanzees - cheeky monkeys. Great day out

I have visited this zoo many times, if your an animal lover like myself this is a must go, although the cleanliness of some the animals' facilities are in need of some updating or a good clean. Part from that it's a lovely day out for everyone.

More of a hike then a zoo. Eating is at the top or bottom of the large hills so choose wise what time you eat. Don't recommend if you have small children all enclosures are over stomach height so you will have to carry them round to see the animals( we went with a double pram and had to get them out for everyone but couldn't keep them out cause of the size of the hills). Food is good price and there are plenty of picnic places.

Fun.

The zoo is built on the side of a steep hill, not ideal for wheelchairs or buggies or young kids, the zoo has done so good work with breeding but needs serious investment for the animal enclosures as they are not very nice

The zoo is in dire need of attention. There are a lot of Empty exhibits and I was distressed to see the two elephants exhibiting disturbing stress behaviour. All in all it was extremely disappointing and we saw very few animals. It is insulting to pay quite a high entrance fee and not be able to see much. It would be a worthwhile exercise for the staff and management to visit Dublin zoo and see how it should be done. We were there at 9.30am on Easter Saturday and saw too many animals to mention. The zoo was very well run and the animals all appeared happy, I could not say the same for Belfast.

Great staff

Great staff
A good walk uphill
Can see a great selection of animals: from penguins to giraffes and sea lions
Right by cave hill so can hike up there too
Great students discount (50%)
Food isn't amazing though...

Very expensive. The zoo is not well-groomed. There are a lot of visitors. Half of the animals we did not see, there were empty enclosures. Many animals cannot be seen since the therarium was also closed. The last time we were there with my family (10 years ago) was much better. It was more well-groomed.
