Very good experience tasting wine here. We like the intimate tasting room and helpful staff who explained the wines we tasted. Even on a Saturday it wasn't crowded. This is a little hidden gem.

We rode our bikes in on a pretty warm day, so it was great to have an air conditioned tasting room and well shaded patios to enjoy. The property itself it just beautiful, it was really enjoyable to ride into. Thomas our tasting attendant was very friendly and accommodating while handling multiple groups. The wines were all very good, but we especially enjoyed the grenache and syrah. They will definitely be in consideration for joining the wine club once we are ready to add more. If you are in the Los Olivos area, definitely make this a stop.

We stopped here on a Friday afternoon and really enjoyed their tasting room. They have reds and whites and a fantastic dessert wine, a '99 Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc that was excellent. Great staff and nice facility. Highly recommended when in Los Olivos.

After a long weekend exploring wines in the Santa Ynez valley area, Beckman was my favorite. Beautiful full flavor wines...tasting at the vineyard (rather than an in-town store experience) ...and unique farming methods. Even my beer-drinking husband enjoyed the wine!

Terrible treatment by staff and when the manager came he told us that they have 3000 members and that they don't need us. 35 dollar tastings for their low end mediocre wines and if you're a member you only get free tastings for yourself four times a year. There are SO many better wines in Los Olivos. Don't waste your time.

We visited this vineyard the first weekend in March. We were on a girls weekend with people traveling from CA, MO, AZ and TX. We had the most amazing time and the wines were delightful. We would all highly recommend this private tour that we booked through Sustainable Vine Wine Tours.

Everything was perfect. We had a great guy guiding us through the vineyard and answering our question perfect. We also had the opportunity to meet the founder and he was nice to us and took time to talk for a while. And the wines were really good as well and as other have reviewed before - they offer a small and intimate tasting room that wasn't crowded at all.

If you're looking to visit a vineyard in the area - this is the place. They also gave us recommendations of lunch afterwards and that place was also great (Sides, Los Olivos, CA).

Just go here!

Great winery to visit around Los Olivos! Wonderful wines, great staff, lovely surroundings. Nice outdoor patio and picnic tables to enjoy a glass of wine outdoor in the sun when the weather is good, followed by a stroll around the grounds or through vineyards. Close to town and a good way to wrap up the day if heading back south

Seriously incredible experience at Beckman Vineyards. Victoria was amazing and the wines were the best we have had in California! The philosophy, practices, and management of this vineyard are ways of moving forward in a sustainable world that all should embrace. Prior to our afternoon at Beckman's, we visited a vineyard featured in the movie Sideways, and every wine was mediocre. When we arrived at Beckman's the 8 wines we tasted exceeded our expectations--I don't want to oversell, but every wine we tasted was absolutely perfect for us. You do not want to miss these wines if you are near Santa Ynez wine country!!

About Beckmen Vineyards

Beckmen Vineyards: Crafting High-End Rhône Wines from Biodynamic Grapes

Beckmen Vineyards is a family-owned vineyard and winery located in the Santa Ynez Valley, California. The winery was founded by Tom Beckmen and his wife Judy in 1994, with the goal of producing high-quality Rhône-style wines from estate-grown grapes. Today, their sons Steve and Tom Jr. continue to carry on the family tradition of crafting exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of their vineyards.

The Beckmens are committed to sustainable farming practices and have been certified biodynamic since 2006. Biodynamic farming is a holistic approach that views the farm as a self-contained ecosystem, where everything is interconnected and interdependent. This means that they use only natural methods to fertilize their vines, control pests, and manage weeds.

Their commitment to biodynamics has not gone unnoticed; Beckmen Vineyards has received numerous accolades for their wines over the years. In fact, Wine Enthusiast named them "American Winery of the Year" in 2016.

One of the things that sets Beckmen Vineyards apart from other wineries is their focus on Rhône varietals. The Santa Ynez Valley has a similar climate to France's Rhône Valley, making it an ideal location for growing these grapes. The winery produces several different varietals including Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne.

Their flagship wine is called Purisima Mountain Vineyard Syrah - it's made entirely from estate-grown grapes grown on their Purisima Mountain property which sits at an elevation of 1250 feet above sea level. This wine consistently receives high scores from critics such as Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

In addition to producing exceptional wines year after year - they also offer visitors an unforgettable tasting experience at their tasting room located just outside Los Olivos in Santa Barbara County’s beautiful Santa Ynez Valley.

The tasting room offers stunning views overlooking Ballard Canyon where you can enjoy flights or glasses of wine while taking in breathtaking scenery all around you! They also offer tours through both vineyard properties (Purisima Mountain & Estate) so guests can see firsthand how they grow & produce some of California’s best Rhone-style wines!

Overall if you're looking for high-end Rhone-style wines produced sustainably with care by a family-owned business then look no further than Beckman Vineyards!
