Beacon Hotel South Beach Review

I must say, my wife surprised me with a trip to Miami with a stat at the beacon and it's been a blast. The staff are friendly and the room was pretty cool. I recommend it if you ever visit south beach miami.

Hotel was decent, noise carried through walls pretty easily.

This hotel is located in the perfect spot right across the street from the beach. It's far enough from the action but close enough at the same time. The included breakfast wasnt the greatest and the construction next door (not mentioned when booking) woke us up every morning at 8:15 except for Sunday. The hotel staff as well as the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. $30/night valet parking was the only option. This was my first time in South Beach so I really enjoyed staying here. In future I might try a hotel on Collins or Washington street to save some money. But if its your first time then this is defintetly a good place to stay. **if you watch the movie Scarface this hotel is next to the room Tony Montana went into at the beginning when we went to meet the Colombians....the chainsaw scene. Our window on the 2nd floor actually faced the door he went through.. I thought that was pretty cool!)

Cute hotel...a little dated. The housekeeping staff is awesome!

It was a great stay, very vibrant area and unique experience. It's an older hotel and the rooms are a little small, but we'll appointed.

Don't even book here , waste of time . Trust me . Front desk guys are rude .

Great location on south beach. Our suite had a great ocean view and was clean. The front desk was helpful. The food at the restaurant in front was overpriced but pretty good. We did see a bartender drop a lemon for a mixed drink on the floor and then put it back on the drink and served it to someone, but that was our only negative experience. The elevators only hold 4 people but the hotel is pretty easy to get around in with the multiple stairway options. There were cozy sitting areas on the second floor and first floor. There was a nice little hangout sitting area on the second floor outside that you could enjoy drinks at.

I recently had surgery and they were accommodating so I could be on one of the ice machine floors. It's little things like that can make a huge difference.

First time in Miami and staying at the beacon, it was a great experience! Day shift employees were nice but the night team was excellent! Andy and Christian were extremely kind and always were very helpful they made our stay at the beacon memorable! We also ate there twice and both times Edgar gave excellent service! Keep up the good work night team, definitely going back and recommending to others!

Typical art deco hotel on Ocean Drive. Nice, modern and sufficiently clean but small room for 2 adults and 2 children (especially the bathroom not sized for the use of 4 people ... maybe it could be fine for 1 person). Breakfast (including buffet, every morning you have to ask for vouchers at reception) poor and sad. Since there were no sweet things to eat and only one toaster there was always a long queue for toasting. Unpleasant (and unhygienic) the fact of being "attacked" at the table by birds in search of food that were stationed on umbrellas and low walls. Once we had to move because of the poop on the chairs. Average staff.

Both Hotels on either side were under construction, and that was not disclosed prior to booking. The room was quaint but small. Not bad for what we paid but I wouldnt pay full price.

Wonderful hotel. Had an awesome stay, very clean. The king bed was perfect and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Extremely friendly staff, courteous and very helpful. They even recommended an outstanding restaurant for dinner for us, didn't let us down. Can't wait to come back!

Had a great stay here. Exceptional staff and service. Great experience for first timers looking to get a taste of ocean drive. Will be back for sure.

Beautiful location, but very small room for 4 people, the cleanliness leaves much to be desired, hair in the middle of clean sheets and in the bathroom everywhere, bad quality breakfast and with very little choice

Don't trust the restaurant. 2 for 1 deal but 1 cocktail drink is $40. False advertising at best.

We were during our trip to USA 2 times at the Beacon Hotel and were always satisfied. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern and clean. The only thing we did not like was the breakfast buffet. The Vallet Parking costs $ 20 per day and is OK for ocean drive conditions. Since we have visited several hotels on Ocean Drive we can recommend the Beacon with the best of them.

Love the decor. Excellent location. Wonderful staff and good breakfast. However, the building is very old like most other Miami buildings. If it weren't for the location, I would be appalled at the price.

Ok let me clear some things up about this hotel. This NOT a bad hotel but it is different from what you may be used to especially if you have been staying at 'brand name' hotels like Hilton, Marriott etc. The rooms are SMALL but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you are like us, and work the majority of your trips, or plan on spending very little time in your hotel room this is fine, My personal favorite thing about this room is that there was a ceiling fan and an AC unit. Sometimes A/C's tend to make the room feel humid especially if it's hot as all get out outside. The fan was clean (dust free) and cooled down the room without turning it into an icebox. The hotel has plenty of amenities HOWEVER, they are not as blatant about advertising them as you might hope. They provide a free breakfast which you will need to stop at the front desk to receive a voucher for, and they have a coffee and tea available (anytime) in the upstairs part of the lobby (I was confused when I didn't see any in my room). You can literally walk across the street onto the beach, and they provide complimentary beach towels (awesome bc we forgot ours in Georgia & were dreading the idea of paying 29.00 for a new one, yes that's the going price for a beach towel in South Beach) There's free Wifi & the room attendants are REALLY good about making sure you don't need cleaning, or extra towels or anything. The only thing that kinda sucked was there's no microwave in the rooms. Again, they are not as obvious about some things so it's possible there is a microwave somewhere but definitely not in the actual hotel room so there's no saving your food for later. There was some construction going on next door when we stayed so, between about 10:00AM and 6:00 PM it was a little noisy. The other sucky thing is that you will have to pay for parking 25.00 per day & valeting is hard bc of how crowded Ocean Drive is. With that being said our stay was nice! It was just a little different that what we were used to. Hope this helps someone :)

Veeeeery crazy at nights, its in the heart of the parties of south beach, the party almost enter the hotel. So be careful with that too is you are with family and stuff.

This hotel has charm and a classic style. My stay has been enjoyable and the staff is simply wonderful! Everyone was so pleasant and made sure I was happy. I loved being directly on the strip, with access to the beach and any food option I desired, at any time. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Service was great. Food was burnt but we got a complimentary substitute.

Great location right across the south beach. We enjoyed our stay going in and out to beach n close by shopping. Old rooms, may benefit from some maintenance. Breakfast average. Nice drinks. Decent amenities. No pool.

Very pricey for the small room but it did its job and we weren't there very often. The free breakfast is a joke and not very food at all.

We loved our stay at Beacon South Beach. It was in the heart of South Beach but I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the room was. The breakfast had a nice variety and the staff was wonderful for our entire stay. We enjoyed taking the complimentary beach chairs and umbrella to the beach. The Starbucks coffee in the morning was great. The bonus is that it's next to a 24 hour CVS in case you forget anything. I highly recommend this hotel.

Phenomenal customer service by entire staff. Veronica & Julio especially went above & beyond to make sure my needs were met. The room was nice and clean. This hotel is located in a very convenient location on ocean drive- right on the strip. The attached restaurant was also a bonus. I cant wait too book my next trip here!

Best hotel I've stayed at in south beach for the price range.

The beds were incredibly comfortable and the ac was perfect on a hot day. We woke up super refreshed thanks to a comfortable stay and they provided free breakfast buffet along with the stay.

This hotel is perfect if your trying to be on budget, the place is great for everyone, the gym is a bit small, the rooms are modern, it includes breakfast but it wasn't great, very simple and that could certainly improve.

I loved the location,& all the choices of things to do,right close to the Hotel.
It is a old hotel though,&the rooms are kinda small. But, we had a great time on our trip there,from just across the state ,to see the Rolling Stones 'Bridges To Babalon' tour ,& the Miami Dolphins game ,the following day. Staying just across the street from Miami Beach made any downside to the room size an acceptable fact.This Hotel is a CLASSIC ,& pictured in many photos ,& seen in many popular shows & movies.And South Beach, being a topless beach,is just a bonus ,to everything else that South Beach has to offer.

Good juicy burger sandwich but coke is 5.50! You can buy a 12 pack at grocery store with that kind of money.

Super nice hotel. Great location on Ocean Drive. The place where there are lives and happy days. The hotel is opposite Lummus Park and Miami South Beach. Lovely rooms, ours with sea view. Just perfect. The staff are also 5 star. So sweet, friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. There is just what to do.

Stayed here for 2 nights right in the middle of the strip.was older but still a very nice place. Breakfast doesn't start till 9am. It was quiet.

The front desk staff is helpful. Valet service took forever and was both difficult to drop off and pick up. The rooms are smallish and older with art decor going on. Depending on your taste you may find that quaint or off-putting.

eating in the restaurant: staff very chaotic on the way. one is served with sunglasses. (absolute no-go). fries were cold until they were finally served. rest was ok. had expected more after the many positive reactions. and the 20% tip imposed is unacceptable. Tips are for good service and good performance in the kitchen. unfortunately that was not the case here. Too bad!

The valet price is ridiculous and so are the extra charges on the food and drinks, BUT aside from that- the customer service at this hotel is awesome. Fast and friendly check-in even tho we arrived early, an upgrade to our room, and a call once we got in to make sure we liked it. We were able to sit at our table and look out the window at the strip, the park, and a little ocean view, good. Nice people work at this hotel. Room was clean and since we've stayed here before we knew what to expect with the size and layout. This isn't your marriot, it's a quaint little boutique hotel on the strip. You're paying for the location. Located down from the clubs so you won't hear too much noise when you're ready to turn it in at night.

For those who like movies, come across the setting of the Scarface Movie is really cool !!! Hotel located on Ocean Drive and animation starts at happy hour with cinematic driks!

When paying $6 for Orange Juice each, which was the same as my (2) egg breakfast, not cool.

Very nice cozy and very clean place on the ocean drive. Very convenient access to the night life and to the beach, playground within walking distance. Be ready for small rooms. But with such sunshine and entertaimnent we barely spend time inside.

This hotel was the best I've experienced so far in Miami the top notch customer service the room was clean and comfortable our bed was made fresh daily and towels renewed the front desk called us to make sure that all our needs we being met this place is phenomenal we will definitely be staying again next trip

Room was quaint, not as big as it appeared online. Breakfast was great even though the waitress was not friendly.

The Beacon was a nice hotel, it was right near the beach and on Ocean drive. The scenery at night was beautiful. I enjoyed the free breakfast and the staff was really nice to us. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the beacon and would suggest it to anyone staying in Miami. Be aware that the room aren't that big though. But it's still I nice place.

The room was clean, but much tinier than the pictures. You have to shuffle into the bathroom sideways. Everyone walking past the window from the hotel next door was close enough to touch.

The location is awesome. The hotel is steps from the beach. Really liked the restaurant Pappa & Ciccia.

THIS HOTEL IS AMAZING!!n The staff is the BESTTTTT! They are very nice and helpful. I stayed at the hotel for the weekend for my bday, They gave us champagne. We also got to the hotel in the morning and they kept our luggage while we went sight seeing waiting for check in. They called us earlier than expected to check in. They were great. I noticed comments about how small the room and bathrooms were but I thought the size was good. Four girls and we were fine. I wish they had a full length mirror but thats it. Everything was great!!! I loveeeeeeed staying here. Whenever I come to Florida, this is where I will be staying!! SOOOOO AMAZINGGG!!!!

The site is expensive more or less the same as the others nearby. The attention is not so good and the food is pretty ugly and bland. The music is repeated very often and everything is delayed, from the food to asking for the bill. I advise going anywhere else. I dindt like it at all.

Didn't stay at the hotel. I ate at their restaurant. Don't bother getting the huge drink they push, it isn't worth it. The food was good.
