Beacon Hotel South Beach Review

Okay just stumbled upon this place and it was fantastic. The menu was great the food was good and the absolutely massive Margaritas should not be missed. After we tour the inside and saw the prices for rooms it's definitely a place we want to come back to. Take a moment and look around.

Room was small, but not too bad for the location. The staff was friendly and had exceptional customer service. My two biggest grips....

1. Room service - the extra charge for mediocre food which came in to-go containers and a paper bag.

2. The mattress is old and sinks into the middle.

Tried calling three times to make a reservation and nobody was there to answer the phone.

Location was great. Room was quite small. Didn't love having a glass bathroom door. Free breakfast was great. Some room entrances are in a hot courtyard.

White sand, blue water, great for sunrise and relaxing at sunset. Definitely recommend. Close to popular hotels & restaurants.

Nice but don't pay attention to the little things. Had 4 people in room. 3 towels. . Bachelorette party n no champagne upon arrival as promised

Tiny, cozy rooms, great value based on location, decent breakfast, carry cash to tip valet parking, free towels / free beach chairs to go to the beach were welcome...great place

Location is great if you like to be in the center of the fun part of South Beach. If you have small children you may prefer a quieter area. Rooms are on the small side, really cramped for a family of four, but should be enough for four. Rooms are nice and clean. The historical cover on the building is really cool. And walking across the road to the beach is the best part. Overall enjoyable.

The staff is rather commercial because they run after tips. Disappearance of blue card and chocolate box in our room. UNACCEPTABLE.

Really great experience and Gus was awesome! So accommodating with our check in and follow ups. We even had a fun competition going on and he loved the idea and discussed putting pictures up on their facebook page. Very service oriented which is what I always look for. Bed was extremely comfortable as well. I would recommend them to my friends and family for sure.

Hotel is a little expensive for what you get. But it s on ocean dr and so close to all the shops and restaurants. You don t really need a car or you will have to pay to park it everywhere at a heavy cost.

Perfect location, small room but it's the price to pay for being on Ocean Drive

Very high priced for what you get. Important to know that you re only paying for the location. We booked an ocean-view king room. The room was quite small. Bedding and mattress were what you d expect, but nothing special. The bathrooms were small and dirty, lots of rust, and the grout and seams around the shower ranged from clean to dark black. Also I think they must heat the water with a candle, because it took 15 minutes for the shower and sink to heat up. The staff was pretty unhelpful. We waited forever for the bellhop to deliver our bags given that we were the only people checking in. I ended up retrieving them myself after 45 minutes. The bags were just sitting by themselves in the lobby while the the bellhop relaxed against the wall. Drinks at the hotel bar were good, but the food was not. We spent more than a hundred dollars, but probably could have enjoyed a better meal by walking to a CVS and getting a couple TV dinners. At least the breakfast was free, but again it was nothing special...they should have tipped us for sitting out front and making the place appear like a good spot to eat. The parking/valet staff was very friendly and took good care of the car. Honestly, if you don t care about being on the beach, you could get the same quality room at a Super 8 or Motel 6 for one-tenth of the price and just Uber to the beach.

Perfect location in South Beach! Great accommodation. Free tea and coffee made my day! Friendly service with that Miami vibe. Location is perfect to access all great spots in Miami!

This charming hotel is right in the center of all the action in Miami Beach area. If you like to be in the middle of it, this is the place to stay. Walk across to the beach or step aside and dine and shop. The hotel was clean and with character. The parking is an issue though - you can maybe find public parking or pay $20 to use the outsourced hotel vallet parking, which in itself isn't that great. You have to wait to get your car 20+ minutes, so it's not as convenient - might as well park elsewhere cheaper and walk for better health.

This is a pretty hotel but it really needs renovations, bad! When I stretch my arms out I can touch both walls in the restroom, no lie! Great location for the beach, stores and restaurants. The staff was also friendly!

Live the South Beach experience. Beside it was filmed one of the best scenes of the movie scarface.

Your hotel was beyond outrageously priced. It felt like you must think I m a complete idiot and you were happy to take advantage of the fact that I was visiting Miami. You even had a separate menu for tourists with sky high prices! It s just a tiny old hotel. Location was right in the middle of everything which made it fun but busy and loud and an absolute crazy amount of traffic, very difficult to get to. Once we got to that area I was three blocks away in the taxi and it took 45 minutes approximately to get those three blocks to the hotel.

The management was super friendly. Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I traveled with 3 friends and we got a deluxe room knowing the rooms on ocean drive would be a little smaller than what we were use to, but the beach access and culture in the area was worth it!

Beacon South Beach is absolutely the best hotel in Miami.

Only book this hotel for location. The hotel is overpriced for small room, dirty bathroom, and rude service. Would not recommend.

Very good hotel in terms of location and amenities n excellent services. The only caveat is room size which is very small n bathroom is little congested...

Not impressed. Frosted glass bathroom door so everyone in your room can see you. Door handles broken. No amenities in the room.

Must stay here if you are looking to spend a weekend on South beach. We were a party of 8 girls and had two rooms with 2 beds each and the rooms were absolutely chic and clean. The decor and colors are stunning. Rooms are not very spacious but quite comfortable and functional. Front desk and hotel service staff was very cordial and at their professional best. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

Had dinner on 31 December. Food is too pricy. May be it's because of the new year Eve.

Ummm cockroaches in the walk way to get to my room didnt even want to stay out there rushed inside my room fast. scowerd my whole room for them luckily there was none not a place i would recommend unless your always in the room this place is for an insect lover i mean yes its historic but call a damn exterminator they make so much off the rooms alone charging well over $200 a night killed 4 cockroaches in 10 minutes unbelievable. staff is nice cant complain there but thats about it dont let the smiles suck u in never staying again read up on reviews and they have not dealt with this cockroach issue for more than a year best thing from this hotel is the location thats it rooms are so small

The big issue is the roaches fix it up and il definitely come back i can deal with all these issue accept the roaches which in my mind is understandable
Shes a 3/5 star noting more nothing less which is the rating on the hotel its a 3 star

We booked and paid for three persons in total and as we arrived the hotel put us in a one bed room. After we compliant they gave us a ground floor room without window and very loud outside ventilation. The smell in a room was also not nice. Only the location of the hotel is really good but that's what we paid for so I can give only two stars maximum

It is an excellent place! Movement every day people everywhere, a lot of security. Excellent everything!

I loved my stay here. First time in Miami. Veronica was a very helpful and very charming concierge and the ensemble of staff was welcoming and friendly. Great breakfast included from 9-11 (I like to sleep in so this is great). Good valet service. No pool, but who needs one with the white sandy beach a 2 minute walk away? Thanks Beacon.

Well located on Ocean Drive. The attention of the staff very nice. To criticize the orange juice at breakfast and the elevators.

The beacon hotel is about the best location on ocean drive, I mean its directly center of south beach. I took my mother there she had the time of her life, especially it being the first time she experienced south beach I'm glad we choose the beacon. Of course I've stayed there at least 10 times my mother got that same special treatment. Ms Veronica Gherardi was especially one of the nicest people we ever met, my family couldn't stop talking about how nice she was we want to thank her very much. I plan on telling my friends and will be coming back next year

Just went to restaurant. Food is good. Horrible service.

Loud... Showers leaked everywhere... If you're a night owl, this is a perfect place. If you want a little more low key establishment, look for somewhere off the boardwalk. Not worth the money spent.

2 months have passed since they did not return 195.39usd for canceling the reservation, although the cancellation was free they removed the money from the card and did not return it. People like this hotel can t just stop but give a card will be withdrawn then don t get through and don t answer letters that I wrote to them more than 10 letters in 2 months answered 2 times trip 1 wrote wrote we will give it back in 5 banking days 2 times written in early May, mid-May there is no money either. And now they don t even answer. will have to sue and demand not only a refund but also damages.

Small and dirty rooms. The front desk person (GUS) is rude. I did not enjoy my stay here. Will not go here again.

Very small and uncomfortable rooms with very small bathroom. Dirty bed linen. Very old building. Very poor Breakfast. Almost $200 a night for a nightmare. Just a horrible experience at Miami Beach. Trying to request my money back. Do not want to come back never again. I did send an email requesting my money back but there was no answers at all.

Staff were very pleasant and attentative. The restaurant in the hotel was pricey but the food was very good. The hotel is across from the beach. The hotel provide chairs and beach towels to go to the beach.

So accommodating and willing to help even with restaurants

I would rate it a 5 because the service was amazing.. but the rooms were small and the washrooms do need some renovations.. but the Building is from the 30s or 40s so I guess you can't ask for much.. The beach is a 3 mins walk so that was amazing.. and they give you towels and beach chairs witch was great.. the breakfast isn't anything spectacular but it dones the job.. you will have a great time and stay..

The location of this hotel is excellent on top of free breakfast and beach chairs available in the room. But these are just a fraction of factors of me giving this hotel 5 stars.

What makes this hotel special is the staff who care a lot about the guest. I have implanted medical devices that need to be charged transdermally. However the recharger was malfunctioning and needed to be reset. It requires a small flathead screw driver to access the reset hole and a pin to poke the reset hole.

When I asked for them, The staff, Francisco, first looked for the screw driver inside the tools chest but the only flathead screw drivers were big ones.

At this point, he could have said "sorry sir, but we do not have what you need", but NO! He did not give up there. He lead me to another room where a remodeling worker was working and asked if he has it. He had the screw driver with the interchangeable head. That did the job to open the cover to access the reset hole.

As for the pin, I was asking if he has a paperclip but he did not. He stopped one of the maid staff and asked if he can borrow her earing! What a creative solution it was! And yup, with that, I could reset the recharger.

He not only went above and beyond but also came up with a very creative solution! I cannot thank him enough!!! Thanks Francisco!

This hotel is over priced the managers are very nasty the don't honor federal government rates the hotel needs a upgrade they think they can just make up rates because they sit on ocean drive parking is ridiculous

Great hotel and staff. They do a great job during the quarantine to keep the hotel clean. Friendly staff that made our stay amazing. Will definitely go back.
