Went to the Jive Comedy Festival. It was superb, almost fell out of my seat laughing, the food was great, the service was speedy and it was an all round lovely evening. The parking is a bit of a mission though

The theatre has been in Rondebosch for many years. The put on excellent productions in one of the three theatres. Excellent sound and lighting capabilities, a small bar and restaurant.
Enjoyable evening spent at Baxter theatre last night. Brilliant show of Mark Lottering Aunty Merle the musical.Great artists great music and of course Mark Lottering the legend.
Great local performance venue and Web Tickets outlet. Concert Club monthly concerts by distinguished musicians generally of very high quality. Comfortable seats. Good acoustics. Not easy access for physically impaired people, but willing staff, generally.
To an extent depends on the show you're going to watch, who is doing the sound and how the mics and sounds balance. The show I watched didn't have a good balance between performers voice on mics and band music. I think the Baxter Theatre should demand some standards from sound engineers.
The Baxter is such a nice and classy place but I cannot believe the disgusting food that they to have offer,a vegetarian menu?I mean REALLY?and the worst looking vegetarian food i have ever seen, they could make so much money if they even just have light meals, snacks like some nice sandwiches, please have a relook at the so-called meals that you serve,we were there at the Baxter watching Joe Barber there were over 300 people and alot of them were complaining about the food service you people offer.
Awesome entertaining evening watching Marc Lottering's #Musical "Aunty Merle - It's a girl".
Hats off to the performers for delivering a spectacular show and to the crew in the background who kept the show going even when the power to the area was switched off due to "load shedding".
Baxter is decidedly not Artscape. I like what they have done with the place over the years, the smaller theatres with there ensuring that even for smaller productions are guaranteed a place there
Fun filled evening with friends and family. Absolutely a must to support local talent. The venue is clean, spacious and very comfortable. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Well done. Great team!
The centre has a nice theatre often showcasing some of the best comedy shows, musicals and variety acts in Cape Town, and internationally. Tickets for shows held here can be bought on Computicket or Webtickets, show dependant. Overall the centre has helpful staff, is clean and easy enough to navigate, although parking is always an issue as you'll find that the parking lot is full and closed when you arrive for a show. The refreshments and snacks here are pricey though so try and sneak in some noise-free snacks if you'd like.
