It is a ship of the past 70 years and I feel history. There is no problem even if you do not understand English because there is Japanese guide. The guide's explanation is also very easy to understand

Well, this is (still!) a very impressive battlewagon, but the history being taught is pure USA-USA-USA propaganda. Surely a memorial to be preserved, but the story told should be more objective!

As the last battleship in the world to be decommissioned this ship is a sight to behold. I recommend taking the free tour on the top deck as you walk up, it's short and a great intro for exploring the remainder of the ship.

Very cool! Thus is the ship on which the Japanese surrendered during WW2. This ship was in service until the 1990s! There are free guided tours. Allow for at least an hour to see everything if you're moving along at a good pace, 1.5-2 hours if you are taking your time. Definitely a worth while tour. Note that the USS Arizona, which is the official Pearl Harbor National memorial is not managed by the same group (non-profit) that manages all the other museums (USS Bowfin submarine, Pacific aviation museum, etc) but the ticket counters are right next to each other. By the way, tickets for the USS Arizona sell out by 9:30-10 every day.

Incredible place to visit. Ample stuff for kids also, from snack shops to historical artifacts. A vast majority of the ship is inaccessible but many important areas can be seen. However, you cannot access turrets or ammunition areas. They have an excellent area, obviously aimed at Japanese tourist, which covers kamikaze attacks. They have the exact spot where WW2's Pacific surrender occurred marked with a memorial. You could take a good tour in 90 minutes or climb all over for hours. If you were a crew member, they have significant artifacts from crew's lives and experiences, including the last Plan of the Day for decommissioning.

I should go to Hawaii
A special place where you can see both the opening and closing of the war with the Arizona Memorial across the street
It is a precious place where you can see the deck that is attacked by the special attack team and remains recessed at that time

Very interesting. You re on a living piece of history as it was on her deck that the Japanese signed the official document of surrender which ended World War II. This ship, and several generations of sailors on board, served valiantly in conflicts from WWII, Korea and Iraq.

Just the history of the Battleship and to just be fortunate to have been able to visit so many times since I was a little girl. Born and raised in Indiana yet, my mother is hawaiian and she met my father when he was stationed in Hawai'i. Truly learn a little bit more history everytime I visit.

They take you on a bus from the visitor centre to go here. There are guided tours that come with your pass. You can either choose to join them or roam the ship on your own. Lots of cool and educational exhibit. No water inside and can be hot so be prepared. It should take 1.5 to 2 hours to tour the whole ship.

As a history buff this was an awesome tour. I elected to take the most expensive tour and we were allowed to view 90% of the ship. I would recommend this one. My only regret was not seeing the lower levels of the 16" gun turrets. We did see the top level of the turret and gun pits but nothing below. Oh well, maybe next time.

Was great to see history up close. Only problem was it way to expensive to take me and my 3 grandkids. So we just hung out by the pier. I am so blessed they were ok with that. Dots were great.

This is one of the few essential places to visit for a sense of American history, in this case WWII. This really brings home the sense of what happened, and what our vets lived through even though the Big Mo was just at the tail end and of the war and was not by any means the most dangerous assignment. This is almost next to the Arizona memorial and should not be missed.

If you go see this ship make sure you go with a tour guide. They tell you countless facts and stories that you wont want to miss. They really know thier stuff...even things they dont cover they have a thorough and ready answer...

Lots of really cool stuff here. The maze like tour throughout the ship is quite interesting to explore and read about all the details. Given its history and age, alot of things were really well preserved. Just the role and its legacy in WWII and Desert Storm is fascinating to be walking on such a storied ship. Awesome!

The 16 inch guns of Mighty Mo now stand in permanent salute to the sailors of the Arizona. This is a fantastic addition tour to add to any visit of the Arizona memorial. So much history happened on this ship and she served her country with distinction thru out her service. The tour gives you access to many interior areas of the ship and a glimpse of what conditions must have been like for the sailors. This ship is truly massive and you will need several hours to see it all. Lots of ladder climbing and squeezing thru bulkheads so wear proper footwear. Amazing to see the transition she underwent upgrading to the modern armaments. All the informational displays and videos that are scattered throughout are especially well done. A must see attraction.

If you love history or even appreciate the moment of being in a place that easily opens one s imagination of what it would have been like serving in the Navy during World War II, you must take the time to circle around the harbor to visit the Mighty Mo. Step back into time and imagine when Imperial Japan signed the decree to surrender in front of General MacArthur and other Allied officers and diplomats. Great experience for my family.
