A cool little cafe on St. John s that brews some great espresso. The inside is currently closed but they have some nice outdoor seating set up. They sell coffee by the pound in addition to a standard cafe drink menu. I love their decaf americanos, always super smooth and creamy when served black. It s a great place for a quick cup or to chill with some friends for a bit.
You know how trying a new place for the first time, you order a safe, drink, one that s tough to screw up, then slowly ease into a drink you want that takes a little more finesse?
My partner and I come here probably three times a week and feel comfortable ordering exactly what I want- every single time
I have never once had a bad drink, experience, or service from Barrett s Coffee.

The Americano was expertly and lovingly prepared, but I Don't agree with current trend of all medium roasts, especially for espresso. I'm old, but beans should be shiny, oily, black, and yield zero-acidity brew without that winey, sour flavor. Nice space, though.

We ordered a coffee, a latte, and an americano. All three were balanced and sweet.

Coffee was very good. Pretty cool place that roasts their own beans and serves coffee as well. The drip was a on the acidic side for my taste but the cappuccino was perfect.

A wonderful environment with great breakfast options! I was in town for business and wanting something fast and saw Barrett's Coffee and made the stop and I am so pleased I did. The relaxed atmosphere was what I needed and the yummy food with a hot espresso was an enjoyable bonus to my stop. The bathroom was clean and I loved the artwork. I've always loved going to Barrett's! Since the Pandemic, they've switched to only take out and delivery, but have since added outdoor seating! The coffee is hot and the cold brew is cool. Some support this local business and get some beans to go while you're at it! Great coffee
Depends on who is making your cup but for the most part they are consistent in quality of taste. I've only had one very poorly made cup of coffee here out of the 50+ cups I've ordered from them.
Best coffee, amazing quality and friendly service and staff. This place is great for locals, and definitely one of the best stops to get your coffee from. These coffee units are refillable at a cheaper price, they keep your grounds super fresh and you get a free drink when you refill your order. Plus, the packaging is dope. Love this coffee spot.
Don t judge a book by it s cover. This place looks a little rough on the outside (which I actually dig), but it s such a gem. Friendly staff, great espresso and incredible atmosphere.

This is Day 3 of being open and the staff is completely amazing. Holden made me a delicious americano with their in-house roasted Columbian-sourced espresso (flavor profile: Caramel Apple). They have a free community library, meaning you can borrow books and lend books to the collection. This is primarily a coffee roaster but with a clean, modernized cafe in the front-of-house. My new fave coffee spot in midtown Austin. Bonus: they have breakfast tacos in the morning!

Damn I have to drive a long way to get to this place...but it is sure worth it. I bought their Ethiopian beans at $18/lb but you do get a cup of drip for free...I loved the Kenyan I tried. I'll be back for sure.
Amazing coffee beans at a very fair price. Even got a token for a free drink just for waiting a bit longer for the beans. Very cool experience overall.
Favorite beans in Austin, no doubt. Love making my stops here at Barrett's. Pick up a bag of beans and they toss in a hot beverage or your choice. Not pretentious or anything...you may even learn something if you ask the right questions.

Barrett's is my new favorite coffee shop in Austin! The house blend is top notch, wowza. The shop has great space for working (wifi and plugs), subtle music (not overly aggressive like some coffee shops), and the barista Izzie is the best! So attentive, friendly, and helpful! Do yourself a favor and try it out. I'm a big fan.

I love this little neighborhood coffee shop. Their staff often engages in a brief but warm hello that let's you know you're a part of their warm morning routine. I've enjoyed every seasonal beverage (right now, the basic witch has put a spell on me ). And there's almost always a taco or a muffin to try while I'm there.

Unbeatable local roaster and coffee bar. Staff is knowledgeable. Drink quality is top notch. Environment is more focused than cozy; great for cowork outings. Great option for locally roasted and ground coffee as well.
