This charity store was one of my favourites. I've donated clothing (had no thanks but didn't mind) and I've bought items a few times in the past.

Today, I noticed a fabulous sequin top in the display window. When I went inside to all of I could get this top, I was told by the "manager" I assume as she was acting authoritative that it was not for sale, that no items in the window were for sale. I said that was a real shame and didn't understand why they weren't for sale as it's a charity store that I would be helping to donate to the charity by buying it. She advised it would be on sale in September. I asked her why it was on sale then but not for sale now. She said you wouldn't go into another shop and ask to buy the display clothing. I said actually those stores have the clothes for sale inside and in the past if they have sold out of the size I have been able to buy the item in the display window. She further said it took a long time for her and her team to collect the items donated to do the display and that is why. I said there were other sequin items on the rack in front of us but she defensively and rudely continued to say no. From the word go she was defensive and rigid.

It is such a shame that I couldn't buy the top and donate to the charity. I won't be going back as it's absolutely absurd and I've shared the events with others already week also agree that it is ridiculous.

Took some items to that shop today for charity and they were taken by a man with dark coloured hair and a beard. He did not even say thank u to me for contributing. This is not the first time this has happened.

There is another gent who works in there, taller and has brown hair I believe and a beard, Now he is nice, helpful and always shows gratitude. If this post gets read by anyone at Barnardos, please tell that dark haired man that thank u goes a long long way.

About Barnados

Barnardo's: Protecting and Supporting the UK's Most Vulnerable Children

Barnardo's is a children's charity that has been working tirelessly to protect and support the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people for over 150 years. The organization was founded by Dr. Thomas Barnardo in 1866, who dedicated his life to helping disadvantaged children in London.

Today, Barnardo's is one of the largest charities in the UK, with over 1000 services across the country. The organization provides a wide range of services to help vulnerable children and young people, including fostering and adoption services, mental health support, education and training programs, disability support services, and much more.

At Barnardo's, we believe that every child deserves a safe and loving home where they can thrive. That’s why we work hard to find loving foster families for children who are unable to live with their birth families. We also provide adoption services for those who are looking to give a permanent home to a child in need.

We understand that many young people face mental health challenges due to various reasons such as abuse or neglect. Therefore we offer counseling sessions through our mental health support program which helps them overcome these challenges so they can lead happy lives.

Education is key when it comes to breaking cycles of poverty or disadvantage; therefore we offer education programs designed specifically for disadvantaged youth so they can have access equal opportunities as their peers.

Disability should not be an obstacle when it comes living fulfilling lives; therefore our disability support service provides tailored care plans designed around individual needs so that everyone has access equal opportunities regardless of their disabilities.

Our work at Barnado’s would not be possible without our dedicated team of staff members volunteers who work tirelessly every day towards making sure no child goes without protection or care they deserve.

In conclusion,

Barnado’s is an incredible charity organization that has been providing vital assistance for vulnerable children across the UK since its inception over 150 years ago. With its wide range of programs aimed at supporting foster care placements ,mental health issues ,education & training programs ,disability supports etc., this charity continues making significant strides towards ensuring all kids have access equal opportunities regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.
